hi everybody-- I am off work at the moment with a sore hand however, rather than sit around I am preparing a chicken casserole for my slow -cooker . all was well till I started peeling the onions- then the tears started, - then my nose started running damn them (the onions I mean) anybody got any advice? or it will be beans on toast for tea lol Alan |

I always run my onions under cold water before i start chopping, and find that it really does help...either that, or i've become immune to onion tears |

Swimming goggles - looks stupid but it stops onion juice from getting in your eyes so you don't cry. |

I find it lessens the smell if I run the cold tap while peeling and chopping onions on a chopping board placed next to the sink (on the draining board). CB >|< |
