I have started to use limewire, and yes it's great for downloads, but a word of advice, it also downloads movies etc.. Im a fan of Barbara Streisand and tried to get a film she was in with Kris Kristofferson called ' A star is born' it sent through a great long list of PORN!!! Obviously if your son is under 18, it's not what you'd want to happen.. Wendy. |

If you use Limewire to download music then it's certainly illegal as the music is copyright. There have been instances where people have been prosecuted for this even when the parents had no idea what their kids were up to on the PC. Ron www.genealogyprinters(.)com |

Limewire itself is perfectly legal (as is the technology that it uses). The catch comes when you use it. How do you know that what you download is legal ? It's like a car boot sale. It's perfectly legal to hold one, legal to go to one. But you have to judge whether what you buy there is stolen/pirated or not. Unfortunately most stuff on Limewire (and other similar programs) are pirated. The legal stuff seems to be either things that you wouldn't want or porn. If it seems to good to be true, then it's usually pirated. Paul |

It's kinda legal, if you're downloading games it's not really, but say someone wrote a book and wanted to share it with loadsa people but wasn't charging for it then that's ok. Well that's how I understand it. |

Technically no but a lot of people use it and if you don't download loads all in one go you should be okay. |
