Is it just me, or is anyone else having trouble finding there own name on the birth records? I know that I was born and that it was registered - have the certificate to prove it! But according to the records, neither me, my sister nor our mum exist! I find it very bizarre that I have less trouble tracking down information from 200 years ago than I do for my own birth in the 1970s!!! |

Hi Karen Has your surname been mispelt as Gardener? Or maybe even Garner Jeanette x |

LOL Karen! You're not kidding. I'd have a go under Gardener........that's assuming it's free and you're not having to fork out for it! |

I have the same problem with my other half he must be an alien, all the rest of his brothers are on there. I have checked all spellings and every quater either side but he is most definatley not on there. Should be in June quater 1962. May be certain quaters are missing as they where stuck together who knows? Louise |

have you checked the quaters after you expect to be in? My dad was born in december but registered and indexed in January. As others have said Cheak Gardener as the person doing the indexing could have mispelt you names. You can search the index free for Endland and Wales on ancestry (remove star from adress) http://www.ancestry.*co.uk/search/rectype/vital/freebmd/bmd.aspx |

Ok, something very weird has just happened. I looked again and I am there! The first time I searched I looked for K Gardner and this time just Gardner. Obviously less is more!! How perculiar! I had a panic for a minute then! Thought I needed to ring my mum to see what she wasnt telling me! :-) |

Some pages are missing on anceastry and others are badly transcribed. I appear to be missing but if I put in just my surname and go to the page before I can ask to see the next page and hay presto there I am |
