So if anyone sees a little Silver Ford Fiesta wobbling along at 40kph - please stop and help .. hahaha (seriously I've been known to hit a lot more kph than that!) Geez! . And I've mislaid my Mudgee envelope which I put in a safe place :(( The idea of Saturday markets sounds good! .. Morning Wattlers, Just been out for the paper and got wet - yeah we had some wet stuff but think it has stopped now - so just enough to put big sploches on my work shirt and not much else - oh well. Daughter is now in Cairns - bit teary yesterday morning but so was her Mum so we made a good pair on the bus - lol Dave met her at the airport. They've been rental hunting but no luck so far. Met her boss and the big boss - everyone seems nice. Her boss has had 3 job offers and will be moving on in 4 months so if Dayna is interested she could be stepping up to his job or just about anything she wants - seems she has got lucky wth the Cairns International Hotel. While they were having coffee yesterday people at the next table we having 'high tea' with the tiered plates of cakes - Dayna was drooling. Today they are moving some of her stuff to her boss' so she won't have so much to take to the hotel where she has 3 days accommodation - he has also offered her his spare room if she can't find something soon - not that she wanted to live with her boss but better than nothing and maybe someone at work would like a flatmate - something will turn up hopefully. Morning all Thought you'd like to see this - and noooooooooooo I didn't make it up! Elusive Ancestor I went searching for an ancestor. I cannot find him still. He moved around from place to place and did not leave a will. He married where a courthouse burned. He mended all his fences. He avoided any man who came to take the Census. He always kept his luggage packed, this man who had no fame. And every 20 years or so, this rascal changed his name. His parents came from Europe. They should be on some list Of passengers to the U.S., but somehow they got missed. And no one else in this world is searching for this man. So, I play genea-solitaire to find him if I can. I'm told he's buried in a plot, with a tombstone he was blessed; but the weather took engraving, and some vandals took the rest. He died before the county clerks decided to keep records. No Family Bible has emerged, in spite of all my efforts. To top it off this ancestor, who caused me many groans, Just to give me one more pain, betrothed a girl named JONES! --Merrell Kenworthy Have a good day all Love Jood
