Morning all Oh dear Shaz If only we could distribute the rainfall evenly we'd be a lot better off. Good luck with mopping up, builder etc. We had to go to the Building Authority here when we built our house over some issues that the builder didn't seem at all interested in rectifying. It got done then! 3 sleeps for me! I've even got my bag out and have made a list and checked it twice. Vonny - commiserations - hope the dentist goes OK. Off to shop as I have to leave supplies for the troups and I have committments (writing group, genealogy, understanding behaviour groups all through U3A) that I'm involved in over the next 2 days so today is it as far as getting jobs done. I've also been landed with the job of organising the bush walking group as the lovely lady who is usually in charge is not well. That's on Thursday so Chris will have to look after them as I'll be on the road to Mudgee! However, I've got the term's itinerary worked out and typed up and the roll etc all typed up so it's all ready for him to take. It's like being back at school again! Gotta go See you later X Anna |

Morning Wattlers Shazz gee not good with all that water, now dont be greedy you know other parts can do with some water too. Anna bet you are getting excited about your trip to Mudgee as are all the other lucky peeps. Laurie bad news about your trip to Turkey, I know you was excited about going. Now with all our lovely chefs on here I need some help. I was given a Pocket Steak the other day and as funny as it may seem I have never cooked one yet. I was thinking on cooking it for Valentines day for David. Anyone got any hints or good ideas on what to do with it??? Please :-) Cheers Sue |

Hi to all wattlers, Shazzels sorry to hear about your wet weather probs, but oh we needed rain, but not in my house you say lol There has been a lot in Warragamba Dam they say so thats a bonus. I ventured out for my walk at 7.15am it wasen't raining then, had a jacket on, but by the time i got back I was soaked, but easy fixed quick strip off. Safe journey for the royal entourage when they hit the road, hope you have bleached that bug out of the lappy. Laurie what a disapointment re Turkey .. Merle hope your feeling better today, sounds like you need a break. Welcome to Marilyn in Spain, hope you come back for a visit to us, If the rain keeps up we may have to bring out the flippers and snorkels, at least Fluffy Duck would have an advantage having her webbed feet lol. Time to get stuff done, coffee break over. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ to all~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ((((((((((((( to all not the best))))))))))))))))000 Cheers Luv Sandra in the Gong |

Morning Wattlers...looking in between wash loads. Please pardon me if I can't find it in me to commiserate much over your wet problems, Shaz (green-eyed envy here). I haven't been in the corner,BTW...just off-site for a while. L'Oz..that's a huge shame about Turkey..hope you can rescue something from the disaster Tassie...I don't have a clue about pocket steak...isn't that the one where you stuff something interesting into the slit? Anna, you are obviously a Multitasking Superwoman....stop it - you make me feel tired! lol Hello and goodbye to Fanny.~~~Sandra Sounds like the Mudgee gathering will be fun. Never been to anything of that nature...closest I ever came was a serendipitous inclusion in a Gleeson family gathering in co.Kerry a couple of years ago -huge fun, in the Irish manner |

Tassie, I havent had a pocket steak for ages - yummmmmmmmmmmm - I bake mine, but in the pocket I put a stuffing, usually fresh breadcrumbs, onions, pepper, salt and seasoning (like herbs of some kind - basil, rosemary etc) The aroma coming out of the oven is mind blowing, and you get enough residue to make a lovely dark brown gravy. Just the thing to have on a wet day as we are having here right now. It has hardly stopped all day, I'm going to need a boat to sail up to the shops if it keeps up! Im happy to say Warragamba Dam is getting a lot, but my rellies on farms at Lockhart, W.Wyalong etc. aren't. We might have to take our gown and slippers to mudgee instead of swimsuits! I'm told someone emptied their pool, and after yesterdays effort, it filled up again and was overflowing! Jood from the sodden Blue Mountains |

Hi Wattlers from a wet day in QLD. It's great, but the thunder and lightning is a bit of a worry. Don't want to stay on here too long. Welcome Marilyn, glad you dropped by. Jood the Pentrich revolution was in the UK, there is a site for it. Marilyn's ancestors got transported for their part in it, those that weren't hanged and beheaded that is. Marilyn is also a 'coz' of mine. One that I found on here through my Talfords. Laurie, I am very sorry that you will miss your trip to Turkey. Can't TLR retire early and then you can go LOL or what about taking a sickie. Merle, you really should take more water with it. Hope you are feeling better now. Wont be long to your appointment. Shazz, I think Laurie's idea of a pool in the lounge is a good one, especially if we keep getting these long hot summers. I am guessing that a lot of people will have leaks, houses are drying out and gaps opening up. Never mind if the rain keeps up they will all close up again. I have string tied on my cupboard door handles because they keep flying open. I have had it for 38 years and its the first time it has dried out so much. I wouldn't like to be on the other end of Lew's phone. But I know how she feels, the last place that we lived was the same. One little breeze or a silly possum and the phones went out. Like living in a third world country. It's made even worse when you know how much the executives earn. Well, thats my daily moan, Sorry if i haven't mentioned you, but I gotta go, thunder is getting closer. Luv SuzyQ |

Jood, I've not got back further than my g.g father (POSSibly a gggfather) but to date, they've all been in co.Kerry...unusual, I know, as I believe they abound in Tipperary. All near a place called Rathmore and a nearby hamlet called Gneeveguilla (pronounce that, if you dare). If, on the other hand, you were talking RYAN...my g.mother's parents were Patrick & Bridget from Tipperary...and I haven't even tried to look into that one,lol |

Afternoon Wattlers, Just had a phone call from the Printheth in distress . . . Not a happy camper, as Telstra tell her the first available time for a techy to come fix her problem with broardband is next Monday !!! I suggested to her that she go get a prepaid dial up plan to take her through, so she is going to check out her options. Otherwise . . . no internet connection at the Mudgee meet . . . will keep you updated luv Laurie |

Hi everyone,, Had a busy day today.. First I had to go to Manly to see the optometrist to get a new pair of glasses,, the new frames were not as nice at the ones that I lost but I am getting transition lenses as I think they would help when driving.. Then it was home and took OH to the Club for lunch which was nice to get out for a bit, and when we got home the reception rang and said the lady who had taken a liking to my glasses last Friday had returned them,, Said she had thought they were hers........anyway I am glad to get them back and now will have a pair for driving also,, Its always good to have a spare pair..I always needed a pair of dark glasses so I am glad I have the new pair coming.. Poor old Printhess,, No puta,, That in itself is a disaster but for this weekend , a double disaster...hope they can do something for her soon.. Prinths Loz, Pity about you Turkey trip..I am sure TLR will come up with something nice soon.. Welcome to our visitors...Hope you like us and can cope with the madness... Queenie Do you take off tomorrow,, have a safe trip and enjoy yourselves. Don't forget the Martoonie glasses and makings..and all the queenly finery..and bling.. SueQ Are you staying home.. I will still have someone to talk to then,, With Tassie and Merle...lol Jood..We have had a beautiful deluge and I got caught in Manly, Had to park the car and wait it out. Just lovely but a shame to see it all run down the drain and out to sea.. All those driving to Mudgee have a safe trip and enjoy the scenery.. Off to get dinner, Back later Love Mary xxxxx |

Hi Wattlers and welcome to our newbies - hope to see you again soon Mary - glad you got your glasses back and now you'll have a spare pair too Merle - hope things are looking up for you and himself SuzyQ - we had a bad thunderstorm here Saturday night and I was glad I wasn't on the puta then - seems we were lucky to lose the power for a few seconds, workmate had it off for an hour or so followed by a shorter outage. Trifley - safe travels tomorrow and we'll catch up on Friday somwhere in the great Mudgee Anna & Ducky - hope you travel safe too - by the time I get on here on Thursday you will probably be on your way. Shazz - hope you've managed to dry some towels off - what a disaster. Tassie - good luck with the pocket steak - I'm salivating here just thinking about it - think that's cos I'm hungry tho Have to work tomorrow & Wednesday as regular Mon-Thurs worker has found she can't walk and talk at the same time without falling off her verandah and doing her ankles in. At least we had planned for me to work today and her do my Friday but now I won't be able to clean my shower tomorrow as planned ..... gee I'm so disappointed - lol Waiting on Dave to arrive home from Cairns - daughter is still looking for somewhere to live apparently. Starts work proper on Wednesday. Better go and sort the washing so I have something to wear to work tomorrow. Have a great evening all Gwenda |

Tony wot you mean never herda rain - its b............... pouring here - maybe it will run down the mountain and into the dam, tho I believe the dam is getting some. My poor rellies in Lockhart got NONE :(( Mary - how could that lady take your glasses just coz she liked them!!!!!!!!!! Murphy's law that she came good AFTER you'd bought some new ones, but as you say its better to have two pair. Lew is with Bigpond isn't she? No Jood - say nothing - keep your mouth shut!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its cool here tonight - could do with a bit of warmth. Bev, the only other Irish critters I had were Laughlans and they came from Drumachose, County Derry. I guess Gleeson is rather like Smith, or Jones lol Jood |

Ooooo, paid quite a bit more towards my dentist's retirement and now the numbness is beginning to wear off!! very sad about ANZAC Laurie - something will come up though :) Hardly any rain here either - never satisfied are we!! lol One of my ebay purchases has never turned up and they aren't answering emails!! It wasn't a lot of money cause I was quite cautious but leaves a nasty taste. Doesn't Telstra understand that The Wattlers and The Internet go hand in hand! You can't have one without the other....................... catch you later ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vonny |

G'day to the wonderful Wattlers.....and of course to the newbie visitors. don't be put off by some of our shenanigans.....we really are loveable when you get to know us....heee heee. Wot's this???? No internet in Mudgee???? Bl***y Bigpond! Couldn't organise an omlette in a hen house. It does make it difficult when they are the only game in town. Wait 'till they hear from Crewella. It's just as well she isn't trying to earn a living from the 'net.....she'd starve. We've had some rain here on the GC, too. Not like Shaz, but at least enough to dampen the ground. With a bit of luck we'll get some more tonight. Hey Shaz....ya wanna borrow some towels?? :) :) Aaaww Laurie....no ANZAC visit. Don't take it too hard.....everything happens for a reason. Maybe something else will turn up. Have ya ever been to Libya????? Now.....Mudgee List....CAR... Full tank of fuel.....check Oil.....check Water levels.....check Tyres.....check (one in each corner & one in the boot) It's time to finish off the suitcase so the Royal Consort can put it in the boot with the Martoonie fixings. I'll try to get back on later tonight.....otherwise..... SEE YA IN MUDGEE!!!!!!!!! Hugz Trifley X |

Evening Wattlers Jood thanks for your input to the Pocket Steak cooking. I have put a message on gen board, just to see if anyone has any different ideas, but yours does sound yummy, hopefully I will be able to cook it to perfection, well just as long as its edible and tastes nice I will be happy. Hey Suzy, Mary and Merle, did you see that there will be no internet connection at Mudgee :-(((((( that means we cant chat to them if they get online ................. But on the other hand they wont know what we are getting up too, ooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh can we have some fun, How many pages will we make them read back on ????????? Sorry guys we are not envious of you all having fun without us..............(not half) :-(((((((( Well I wont be on here in the morning as Tamika has that unmentionable dentist appointment, then a visit to my parents, before I get home about lunchtime. Cheers Sue |

Tassie, believe me, thats the way to go - the seasoning will smell yummy and it adds a lovely flavour, plus the lovely dark brown gravy. Gee its like a winter's night here, not raining exactly, but decidedly cool. Just as well I have 3/4 sleeves and long pants on. Think I'll actually put the lecky blankie on till I get into bed. Vonny - did you report this person to e-bay - did you not give them favourable feedback (or hang off for a while) - did you check what their previous feedback was like? If it was a lot of money, e-bay will actually pay you a small sum of it, forget how much now. It does leave a nasty taste in your mouth, but stay positive for a while, their internet connection might be down. Good luck Jood |
