Good morning Wattlers A beautiful day on the Bay, the sun is shining, the water is all sparkly, temp not bad if you stay out of the breeze, and all looks good !! There is a Block of Flats (Container ship with a high load) making its way to the docks, there are three giraffes with their head up, and there is another tug sitting out near the heads, so they must be expecting another ship to arrive soon. Last night the moon was brilliant, it lit up the bay like a disco ball - when we got back from dinner, we rugged up in the big coats and sat out on the balcony with a cuppa - twas lovely! I just got pickles from my friend Deb in Kent - she and her family have had a holiday on Corfu . . . Looks stunning, all blue & white !! Come on summer !! Where is Sue ??? No sleeps count posted yet ???? Oh I forgot, we are into hours and minutes now - lol Our Great Trifley one is off for the little pricks today, relaxing will be the hard part, but if she can do that it will be a breeze - just no martoonis after or we will have the human fountain thing happening! How are you this morning Joodles - did you start on those antibiotics yet ??? Heather please pass on my congrats to DD also, its obviously something she loves to do - does she plan on a career move that way ?? Just talking to Oni out at WW and she said it is freezing out there with high winds coming straight up from the south - so hopefully that will all pass by the weekend and we get the earlier predicted weather - want it nice for the weekend. Yvette - sounds like a good excuse for a party to me . . . glad you got your sense sorted (lol) . . . I think you have been studying too hard girl, pregnancies ??? Well I have some jobs to do out this morning, but will check in later and see what you are all up to cheeers luv Laurie

Naa, 35 weeks total . unis are slack , you go like a lunatic for 13 weeks and then revert to a normal person. Its like doing big shift work, or having a manic personality. after the 13 weeks you get so much time off its a joke. so. 9 weeks this year, 13 for next autumn and 13 for next spring. It is the child with the cold, he's watching red dwarf, playing guitar and coughing like a dog. amazing, ddin';t hear him cough once last night. He likes school though, so isn't fudging. Julie, you are still at a good age to have another baby! awww love Yvette

Well, it might be sunny but I've just hung the washing out and it is freeeeeeezing outside! Wind factor. Yvette, so glad you now have cense.:) Hz, my congrats to your daughter also. Know what it's like living with a drama queen. My youngest took drama as a double major in college. We had drama running out our ears :) btw College in ACT = yrs 11 & 12. It's so nice to have them involved in good activities. Was going to do some gardening but that was before I knew about the wind. maybe later. Oh, I may have given the wrong impression about the boat because of the picture - both of us are working on the planks :) and John has the hardest part as he is underneath putting the copper washers over the nails and banging them into place. My job is just to keep the nails in place and hit them if they move :) - which they do, every time! Vonny

The Owl and the Pussy-cat went to sea In a beautiful pea green boat, They took some honey, and plenty of money, Wrapped up in a five pound note. The Owl looked up to the stars above, And sang to a small guitar, 'O lovely Pussy! O Pussy my love, What a beautiful Pussy you are, You are, You are! What a beautiful Pussy you are!' Boat building sounds good, bed sounds good although I haven't been up for too long i could easily sleep for a few more hours, Sweet dreams Julie love Yvette x

GR seems to have a glitch, its taking ages for it to load, just read my last entry, sounds like I'm chatting up Julie. heres the next bit Pussy said to the Owl, 'You elegant fowl! How charmingly sweet you sing! O let us be married! too long we have tarried: But what shall we do for a ring?' They sailed away, for a year and a day, To the land where the Bong-tree grows And there in a wood a Piggy-wig stood With a ring at the end of his nose, His nose, His nose, With a ring at the end of his nose. I love this soo much, almost as much as the drovers dream Dear pig, are you willing to sell for one shilling Your ring?' Said the Piggy, 'I will.' So they took it away, and were married next day By the Turkey who lives on the hill. They dined on mince, and slices of quince, Which they ate with a runcible spoon; And hand in hand, on the edge of the sand, They danced by the light of the moon, The moon, The moon, They danced by the light of the moon. Where are you going when the boat is finished? Bye for now Love Yvette - 48 hours will be nearly at central

Such a beautiful poem and appropriate for this thread, well thats what I though anyway There are days when bubbling from us comes the innocent child within, who giggles at the little things and wears a silly grin. There are days when melancholy comes to visit for a while; the mind feels tired, the body weak; we have no strength to smile. There are days when joy abundant grabs a hold of you and me; wraps us up in all it's splendor, lifts us up and sets us free. There are days when sorrow wraps us in its cloak of grief and fear, 'till our hearts ache to the breaking, 'till our eyes can't shed a tear. There are days when love bestows us with its wonderment and light; with its beauty and its mystery, its power and its might. And there are days when life rewards us and seems to make amends by granting us a marvelous gift, the precious gift of Friends. Shaz

Pmsl Yvette, I thought you WERE putting the poem up for Julie!!!! The site is incredibly slow. We are going down the Murray river - John wants to go from source to sea, I'm not sure I can stand being in the boat for that long - a couple of months!! Vonny Shazz, that is so beautiful. Thank you.

YvetteDD Report 10 Aug 2006 01:31

That is just beautiful, how easy is it to get 'gushy'. Girls are so lucky, half the time its 'expected' that we are mushy and sentimental and loving - well most the time we are hey? Well - I was thinking boats, I was thinking cats - that poem immediately sprang to mind. I've got to downlaod this other stuff now and I really have to go. Its hard dragging myself away, Mary must be ready for wattle big time. love Yvette x

Vonny - is it windy over your side of town cos it just seems to be cold here - trees aren't moving at all Gwenda

couldn't resist - just one more squiz. have taken the roof racks off the car in an attempt to conserve a bit of petrol. should have seen them, I've got a bit more than baby blue volvo, with roofracks covered in pink tube to protect my kayak. (thats pretty blue too). They offer a fair bit of wind resistance though. Easy to spot in the car park. I'll have to remember where I put it now. Hung the washing out. Shower, lunch , cadaver-ing i will go love you all in the most sincere way (he he) from Yvette x

Speaking of conserving petrol, like everyone else, I buy it on the cheap days (if I can), but the last two times, I have bought the premium petrol. .. I havent decided if I'm getting more mileage out of the tank (simply because I don't know how to check), but it seems to last a lot longer, and the car just purrs along. .. Anyone else buy the dearer petrol? .. Before my car used to drink up the petrol in no time. Jood

Hello Wattlers, well we are on a go slow today aren't we?? its taken ages to even get in so I'm not going to attempt to read back. Yes Jood I buy the dearer petrol (but I dont have to pay for it the company does) and my car runs much better on it. Although I had to pay $1.57 today thats outrageous!! Vonny , have been meaning to ask you about the boat my OH is interested to know what it is. He has restored vintage cars in the past and has plans to do a boat when he retires. Mary hope you're all shifted in and unpacked the essentials so you can have the day free on Sat. I think Tassie is just a little excited...lol Trifley,is the arm better now? You have to be fighting fit for sat. With all the lotto nos we have we are in with a good chance this weekend so if we win are we meeting on sunday at the casino? Hope you all have a great weekend ,even if you're like me and cant be in Syd. Pretty myself so might not be back on here til sunday evening. So at least try to behave....lol Flakey

Afternoon Wattlers, If this site gets any slower I'll be an OAP before I finish typing this - lol Jood - daughter & OH use premium petrol. Daughter was shown what that cheap stuff (Woolies) looks like and what it should look like - no way would she go back to the cheap stuff now - just tries to buy on the cheaper days too. Hz - congrats to your DD - do we have a budding Cate Blanchett in the making??? Trifley - hope the needles are doing their thing and your arm is better soon. Back to more tidying up .......

Arvo Wattlers Shazz thank you for the lovely poem, such lovely words and it applies to all the lovely wattlers. I have printed it out, going to send it to my daughter.some days though all of those things happen in one hit. Yvette thank you also for the Owl and the Pussycat - loved that poem when I was a child, and loved singing to my children - I've wondered what mince and quince tasted like on a runcible spoon - yuk I should imagine lol Jood have sent you a pm with hopefully all questions answered on unleaded versus premuim -lol. Went out and asked the knowledgable one - Ken - I just get him to fill up the car - I don't 'do' petrol filling - the fumes give me such a headache -but I have allergic reactions to petro chemicals - and where do I work? a mechanical workshop of course - what you do for love.lol Not long til the madness starts - woohooo! 2 more sleeps, 2 more sleeps to goooo. Sue only 46 hrs and 30 mins to go before we get to Sydney and meet all the other wattlers - just thought I would remind so you knew where you were at - lol. Well have to get back to work - extra busy this week to make up for not opening Saturday - 'cause we will be where? - sydney just in case you all forgot.lol jude 3

Arvo Wattlers. Freezin cold darn sarf in mulbin. The sun is out, but its useless. Lunch time, so having a Pie & sauce. Little joke...:>))) Donald Rumsfeld is giving President Bush his daily briefing. He concludes by saying: 'Yesterday, 3 Brazilian soldiers were killed.' 'OH NO!' the President exclaims. 'That's just terrible!' His staff sit stunned at this uncharacteristic display of emotion, nervously watching as the President sits, head in hands. Finally, the President looks up and asks, 'How many is a brazillion?' Av a good un. Tony Oz...:>)))
