Thats sad . . . . . . Here was I plotting and schemeing with Lara to give everyone at Sydvegas a big suprise and it not going to happen now !! Ah well there will still be lots of lovely wattlers there to have a wonderful day . . . Sister Cherry has had her pen busy with another Wattle poem that I will share . . . THE WATTLE DAYS by Cherry I waited for the wattle this nose told me was coming. Days and days I, weary, waited for the bush to burst in bloom. First a tinge and hint of yellow in the grey and dry old bushland. It was coming... it was coming... then the gold burst with a boom! Take a close look at the blossom, oh, so delicate and fluffy. How can perfume be so sweet and at the same time acrid, cloying? And the bush that was so grey and dull is transformed with golden beauty. Such a pity there are some folk who find wattle bloom annoying. Hows the human fountain going Trifley ??? found any leaks yet ??? luv Laurie |

Good Afternoon All, I certainly DID see you wave as you passed by yesterday Lew Lew - you were that bright half hour of sunshine in the afternoon between wind and showers, day ended very cold. Today is brighter and it will be lovely up in Bright with clear skies today. Thanks to you all for your kind comments from DD15. Anna will probably sympathise here with me a bit about teens trying to decide their future direction! DD15 loves her drama, and is very good. She is strong in English - has written stories/scripts for fun, is good at public speaking so throws together her school presentations effortlessly. This time last year she was interested in IT and she's much more into computers than most girls ( quite proud of being a gamer), but not quite as technical perhaps as needed careerwise. More arty - doing well in maths/science too. But she has the teen lazy gene too lol. I don't think she'll go for a profession, (although many think she'd make a good lawyer, she can argue the handle off an iron pot!). As a bit of an all rounder, she still has a lot of choice ahead of her. Shaz your poem was lovely, its gone into my 'beautiful' folder (there's another folder for 'funny'). Thank You. We buy the good petrol 'cos we can't afford to have delivery vehicles off the road! OH reckons it makes a difference. To all Wattling Travellers - be safe, have a lovely lovely time, remember all those of us enviously waiting for reports from the front line!! ~~~~((hugs)) Hz |

Hi all, seems everyone is complaining all around the world at how slow GR has become. .. I did write to them, and no doubt a lot of other people did too, but it will be another 2 days before I hear back from them. .. It only happens in GR which is very strange, - I wonder if someone with a grudge has done something????? Hz & Anna both - you must be very proud of your daughter's - its nice to see some good kids coming through. .. Mostly one only hears about the riff raff and what damage they've caused. Interesting too, to hear that at least 3-4 Wattlers use the premium petrol - could I now ask if any one brand is better than the other??? Jood |

Afternoon Wattlers Gee it seems ages since I was on here and it was only late yesterday, or was it last night, cant remember. Anyway, we have got a cold day here too cloudy all day but no rain, but I bet there is snow on the mountain. I already starting to miss Tassie and I haven left yet. I know Im only gone for a night lol, so today I got busy and went for a walk around our lovely Cataract Gorge and City Park, that was on top of doing all my bill paying and grocery shopping, cant have them going hungry while I'm away :-) Mary Get outta that swimming pool and finish unpacking or you wont make the Casino, and if you dont I will suss out your place and arrive on your door step Saturday night hee hee. Trifley I hope everything went well today, I have never had accupunture, so not sure what you have to go through, by the sounds of what has been said its not too painful. Ok got to go and do a couple of things before David gets home. Cheers Sue OOH 42 hours until touch down in Sydney :-)))))))))))) |

Jood asked the OH about petrol/octane and reply as follows: 1st. Shell optimax - highest octane - but unfortunately the most expensive (you gets what you pays for) 2nd. B.P premium 98 octane however they do make a 95 octane - which is quite adequate & save yourself 4/5 cents a litre he also said when you buy your fuel go to a high volume of sales servo - believe or not fresh fuel is better - it does go off. The smaller stations don't get topped up as frequently. Your cars performance should improve by about 5% of power because of the higher octane fuel. Cause you don't have to put you foot down as far for performance. 3rd Mobil - then you takes your chances. Hope this helps jude 3 |

Thanks Jude - and your oh for the interesting information. Fortunately the garages on the Gt Western Highway are all used fairly frequently from locals and travellers. .. I've made a note of the order of use. It will be interesting to see the difference when I drive down to Bendigo in January. Love Jood |

Haven't seen the news, but RB was saying no books, handbags or anything on the flight Eng-WA - can you imagine???? .. But now - no flights at all you say Tony. .. What on earth are they on about? Welcome home Wilson - we did often ask how you were going - looking foward to hearing all about it - where you went, etc. Whether the weather was kind to you. I got a reply back from GR - duh - they are sooo dumb - they think its MY computer - dur! 'Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I have just tested this and have been unable to recreate this error. We constantly strive to ensure our websites work perfectly on as many machines and computer systems as possible. However, we are aware that problems do arise. To help us fix these problems, there are certain things that we need to know about the computer you are using: Computer - Mac, PC, Linux etc. Operating system - Windows 2000, Windows XP, OS X etc Browser - Microsoft Internet Explorer, Safari, Netscape etc Version number' and goes on how to tell me how to do it, as if I didnt know. I said - its going on all over the world - UK, Canada, Oz. I've written back, dying to know what answer they have this time. Jood |

Hi everyone... good morning!! Just to let you know there is a fullscale security threat here... 20 people arrested following a threat to blow up planes in flight so a lot of aircraft have been cancelled till they sort it all out... Hope this has not upset anyones travel plans , but if it has, then at least you are safe... Hope you all have a lovely evening regardless... Best wishes, Anne xxx |

Hiya Joodle. Well, apparently theres been a foiled plot by Terrorist to blow up planes heading from Heathrow to U.S.A The police have succeeded in capturing some of these blokes, but they feel they have not got them all yet, so Heathrow was on red alert ( and also the U.S.A ) Latest report ( on our news ) Stated that Heathrow now has had total shutdown. Thanks Anne - Raggy Bear was due to fly from UK to West Oz very soon (not sure of the exact date). I suppose its for the best. But this - 'BA has also placed restrictions on hand-luggage items -- banning handbags, contact-lens solutions and cases for eye glasses'. ... is a bit rough - not even a book. Jood |

Another email from GR Thanks for reporting this problem. The site has been experiencing exceptional levels of traffic over the last few days which is why you would have received this message. Our technical team is currently investigating and we hope to have the problem rectified as soon as possible. Suffice to say, this is usually just a temporary problem and should work OK if you try again. (It is ok as you probably have noticed} Jood |
