Morning all from a lovely sunny Botany Bay . . . another one like yesterday by the look of it. There are 8 giraffes with their heads held high, but their are two pilot boats on their way out so I guess some of them will have work to do soon - can't see what ship is coming in, it hasn't come to the heads yet. There is a dredge opperation going on at the end of the Nth/South runway - and all looks like it has got back to normal after the drama last night. We had a birds eye view of the emergency from the balcony. Your getting cheeky Yvette . . . been up since 6.10am, just let the puter sleep in. I AM PAIN FREE !!!! Seems the freeze job did the trick for me, had the best sleep last night - first one for ages. Fighting fit now so look out! OK - I am off to the Archives shortly, have collected all the requests so will let you know how I go. Will get going as soon as all the workers and schoolies get off the road. Glad you arrived safe & sound RG, hope you have a wonderful time. Well our little 'PRIZE' family are off to Hey Man, Hey Man, talkin about you - Hey Man ! today - enjoy !!!! and Jude & Ken are off to the West . . . we know they will be right at check in as Ken has a copy of the e ticket as well this time !! Have a wonderful time, you know you can always ship home the wine !!! Dont know if Honey Rum sent this to everyone or not . . . but here goes anyway !! ----HAVING A BAD DAY? These are all true stories! In a hospital's Intensive Care Unit, patients always died in the same bed, on Sunday morning, at about 11:00 a.m., regardless of their medical condition. This puzzled the doctors and some even thought it had something to do with the supernatural. No one could solve the mystery as to why the deaths occurred around 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, so a worldwide team of experts was assembled to investigate the cause of the incidents. The next Sunday morning, a few minutes before 11:00 a.m., all of the doctors and nurses nervously waited outside the ward to see for themselves what the terrible phenomenon was all about. Some were holding wooden crosses, prayer books, and other holy objects to ward off the evil spirits. Just when the clock struck 11:00, Pookie Johnson, the part-time Sunday sweeper, entered the ward and unplugged the life support system so he could use the vacuum cleaner. Having a Bad Day???? The average cost of rehabilitating a seal after the Exxon Valdez Oil spill in Alaska was $ 80,000.00. At a special ceremony, two of the most expensively saved animals were being released back into the wild amid cheers and applause from onlookers. A minute later, in full view, a killer whale ate them both. Still think you are having a Bad Day???? A woman came home to find her husband in the kitchen shaking frantically, almost in a dancing frenzy, with some kind of wire running from his waist towards the electric kettle. Intending to jolt him away from the deadly current, she whacked him with a handy plank of wood, breaking his arm in two places. Up to that moment, he had been happily listening to his Walkman. STILL think you're having a Bad Day???? Two animal rights defenders were protesting the cruelty of sending pigs to a slaughterhouse in Bonn, Germany. Suddenly, all two thousand pigs broke loose and escaped through a broken fence, stampeding madly. The two helpless protesters were trampled to death. What?? STILL having a Bad Day???? Iraqi terrorist Khay Rahnajet didn't pay enough postage on a letter bomb. It came back with 'Return to Sender' stamped on it. Forgetting it was the bomb, he opened it and was blown to bits. There now, feeling better???? Have a great day everyone - Cheers luv Laurie

Good Morning All Hope everyone is well or on the improve. I havent read back over last nights or this mornings messages as yet, been busy tidying house as landlord is calling in to look at dodgy heater, had to make sure washing was done and beds made. Anyway I am really pleased with myself. I mentioned to most of those at the meet in Sydney that I had lost 20 kgs well after the weekend I put a bit back on, not complaining though as I had a wonderful time. Anyway got on the scales this morning and I am back down to the 20 kg mark, was 96.2 now 76.1 thats in 28 weeks Yippeeee!!! Ok off to hang last load of washing on line. I will be back after. Cheers Sue :-))))))))

Yes Yes - Im having a bad day!!!! ... But I don't care! Two days ago I cooked up about 6 chicken carcasses to make some luverly chicken soup - oh I was looking forward to it. .. Dutifully removed all the bones (from which I had to handpick the meat off for my daughters animals - daughter being vegetarian) - put the broth in the fridge to set the fat. Well today was the day - skimmed the fat off - two lovely bowls of chicken jelly ready to cook - ummmmmmmmmmm .. tipped it into pressure cooker, had brekky - and hadt a change of mind of what I was going to do first. .. Sorted out some books in a low cupboard, then found myself drifting outside and looking at the despondent garden almost choked with weeds. .. Well I'll start on it I said to myself, I won't do it all, just a little bit, so I weeded and pulled and chopped, and I thought -' I wonder what the neighbour is cooking - hang on - is that coming from my place?' - but I have nothing on the stove .......... errrrr - wrong Jude, you put the pressure cooker on very low ... ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh - no more soup - just a brown congealed mess and a black pressure cooker. .... Well the remains of the brown congealed mess went down the sink, and the pressure cooker has been scrubbed like new - windows open (oh gee, the smell even went upstairs :( .. Renewed plans for lunch!!! .. Cant buy any more carcasses, as I usually go down the mountain to get them from the chicken places like Lennards. ... I know - I know - I'm a worry .. lol Shazz - cut out the laughing, I can hear you from here) Spring is definitely in the air and in my step. .. I'll just do one thing extra every day, something I've been putting off for a long time, and in another year, I'll have everything sprung cleaned! .. pmsl Jood

Good Morning Wattlers, Thanks for lending an ear Jood, most welcome. Hope it wasn't my fault the soup burnt. Anna, did I hear you say you were a member of the red hat society? I saw the Perth group on Sunrise today. They seem a lot like the Wattlers to me. I am beginning to like being over 50. Laurie glad you are feeling better Raggy Bear, please to hear from you, now start holidaying girl. Fluffy Duck, I could almost see you waddling off to bed. Looking forward to you being back with us. Mary, I thought it was good not to have to listen to Kerrie Ann. Sorry she does get on my nerves a bit. I started to do some more Spring Cleaning today, thought I would clean some brass work that I have. Couldn't find the Brasso, Neville had taken it and I now had an empty bottle. Okay, I will give the furniture a really good polish. Guess what, no furniture polish. Also found an empty bottle in the shed. I then decided to give it up for the day, Ah well there is always tomorrow. ( and it isn't really spring yet anyway ) Now its time to make lunch, so I will catch up with you all later today. Well done Sue you have given me the will power to follow your lead. . Byee SuzyQ

Good afternoon please can I ask any of you that have any resources such AVRI and whatever to have look for this peeps birth for me for some reason after microsoft update my AVRI will not work HHHHHHelp Tony , His name is Maxwell George Stewart or was when he was born anyway it's rather sad really this chap we know up here has just told me that he doesnjust his fathers adoptive family as his father was adopted and his brother was fostered out and they were told that their mother and father were killed in train crash at Sunshine but when my friend checked the records of said accident there were no Stewarts killed in it at all, so maybe mum and dad split up and trying to be kind to the boys they were told that they had been killed and this was not so, any record of his or his brothers birth his name was Allan Stewart would be of help they could have been born he thinks in either Ballarat or Geelong around the 1909 c. Hello Raggy Bear welcome to our shores so glad it wasn't DVT just remember to drink lots water and move those legs and toes on the way home there is actually special stockings you can get to avoid it so maybe worth looking into them what was wrong did you feel bad when you arrived here it would actually be strange if you didnt feel wonky after all what you went through at home and the kerfuffle that went on I would have been pretty stressed I think. Do enjoy yourself you know you are not on the best side though of OZ don't you we over here on the East Coast are much nicer good looking peeps PMSl I'll start a civil war if I don't behave eh So glad it happened to you too Jood thought I was the only idiot who did that,I lose more messages than I post actually LOL Laurie too late to say but as you'll be at the archives but glad the ice did the trick and no,more pain that's really good so now you know what to do if it ever comes back . oh can be a George Orwell non person- when it suits him, (big breath, count to 10, snarl) He doesn't like any part of the census that includes his name. Said he will provide details no name. Thats why I rang the lady, she will send him another form, if he doesn't fill it out i hope he suffers the consequences for being pig headed. Thats what will happen too now he's made up his mind. I've just sent you remaining energy, does that mean you are going to work for me as well. Be nice to yourself!!!! love Yvette xxxxxxxxxxxxx PS martoonie doesnt work with remaining energy - its one or the other

Evening all - spent lovely day in Sydney, revisited the casino (twice in one week) attempted to use our $10 credit we were given last week, but couldn't work out how to get our pin number into the pokie machine, then didn't know how to play the darn thing, so hit a button that gave us back our money. We laughed so much, and have decided that once we both retire we will definitely not be pokie addicts!! Have arrived home exhausted - think it's easier going to work than a day in the city. However managed to get gifts for o/seas friends - and all australian made items! Plus got some new seasons clothes for my Qld break in Sept (OH can't see why I need any more clothes) Trifley - yes if b-i-law comes with us to Mudgee he'll definitely share the room, he is coming to Oz to celebrate his 50th birthday in March and decided he wanted to be here with us for some raucous fun! Yvette - saw your message on success board, that was really nice of you. Jood - re: burnt food - sounds familiar. Dtr let 6 eggs burn dry in the pan, they then exploded all over the kitchen, hitting the ceiling - wow it's amazing how far exploding eggs can travel. We had to repaint the ceiling. Mary - lucky you didn't lose your voice last week! I had that lurgy about a month ago, lost my voice completely (guys at work thought it was great!) and it hung around for about 2 wks. Tassie - congrats on the weight loss. You have done so well. Reading about Yvette's energetic days has got me wanting to start back at aqua aerobics and my daily walks. I'm hoping to drop my winter spare tyre by the time OH gets back from UK in late Oct! Plus trying on clothes today in front of those awful mirrors in shops is quite depressing. Shazz - No of course I don't pack his bags! You've met him and seen how laid back he is. He packs on the morning he is due to fly out. That was kind of Rob to ring him, he told me today that he had called. Will ring you during the week. Have a good weekend all - off to buy lots of taps tomorrow at bathroom sale! OH wants us to get there when it opens at 8, so another early day. Did anyone see the doco last night on SBS about the Housing estate at Airds? Sorry I've plonked more on this thread in 24 hrs than I normally put on in a week. Bye Lyn

Hi our waffling Wattlers.. Had a lovely day today.. did take 14 boxes back to removalist but got a whole whopping $7 for them..LOL didnt like to tell him I would have paid him to take them off my hands as I had nowhere to put them...The place is starting to look nice and when we get our new dining setting and loung we will look a lot better..At the moment we have the patio glass topped table in the dining area with some old dining chairs but even that looks not bad with a nice lace tablecloth over it ..Tomorrow must tackle the guest room as I have till monday to sort it out as that is when our visitors arrive. Been a lovely day and not cold at all..Beginning to improve cold wise and a Brandy and Dry helped a lot at happy hour..amazing how it clears the nasal passages..and every other passage it goes through...LOL Might have a early night so sleep tight and see ya in the morning.. i'm back. its all nice and quiet. everybody has gone out. the last of them, middle son with girl friend, 1/2 a netball team and his other friend have taken the beer and gone to the pub. Told them all not to come back. I wrote a letter to a wattler once explaining the complex nature of our names in this house. The only common name is my maiden name, i think it's a bit offputting for oh. his surname by the way is Moody, his middle name is the same as my surname. he is also a little shy and retiring - poor possum, cause the rest of us r not. The winter tyre is a good thing. (for me at least) that is what feeds and holidays me throughout the summer months. The dress don't fit, so the peeps come to see Yvette. works nicely. Its called 'make your vocation, your vacation' . A very good attitude towards your job. Serously, I have to maintain a pleasant disposition, and remember never to say' gee you put on the pork over winter, hey?' and I do work hard at what i do waffle waffle, saw my friend Alyson, she is checking her very busy social calendar for bookings in February. Out of curiosity i asked did she like martinis. She said she did so long as they were made properly. there you go... i kinda thought she must as she likes most other alcoholic beverages. love Yvette xx
