Hello everyone Sorry, you have a foreigner invading your thread here!! If anyone from New Zealand should happen along, please could someone ask if there is a place called Lancaster in New Zealand. I asked on Tips and despite much map searching, it couldn't be found, but I seem to have acquired a number of ancestors apparently born in Lancaster, New Zealand. Many thanks, enjoy your day. Bev x

Good morning WWWattlers, Just rescuing us from page 7 - of course by the time I finish someone might have beaten me to it....lol I will have to join the WW group as I am the high end of overweight but a word of caution to anyone over 60 the BMI does not apply. There was a newspaper article a while back stating that it's fine for over 60's to carry a little extra - emphasis on the 'little' tho. In our later years when illness strikes we need the fat reserves to get us through. You will recover faster than some skinny mini who has nothing in reserve. Here is my recipe for blender lemonade - I start every morning with this and it is so easy to make. Cut the ends off one lemon and then cut lemon into 8 pieces, place in blender with 1 pint of water, blend on high speed until lemon is finely shredded, then strain. Every morning I have a cup of this juice with a squeeze of honey, microwave on high for 45 seconds and drink. Gets your system up and running and like Lara said is good for the liver. Hope peeps with the lurgy are on the improve - I'm heaps better altho still blowing my nose but not as often and the cough hasn't come to too much either. Laurie - congrats on Marie's find - can't believe you haven't headed off to pick it up tho - I would be itching to get my hands on something like that - best things I have are my 2 grandma's birthday books and an address book - my maternal grandma was very family orientated and kept up with several generations when others would have stopped so when I have time her books will keep me going for quite a while. Jill - congrats on your transcribing - what area have you got? Tony - now we know why Barb won the trip to Hey Man - so you two could get hitched without having to pay for it - pmsl Saw the tail end of the Great Outdoors last night - even that wasn't cheap - a quick trip down to Brighton would do me if I wanted a beach wedding. Is anyone voting in the Cleo Batchelor of the Year - we have our very own batchelor in the top 50 and he's on top of the voting at the mo - he's not the best looking but with all the radio staff voting non-stop he's way out front - check it out - some nice eye candy amongst the 50 - hubba hubba Have a new washing machine arriving today so I'd better get going - other one had CRAFT moment again yesterday and wouldn't perform so decided to get rid of it rather than pay for another repair. Off to get brekky, shower and tidy up the laundry Catch up later Gwenda ~~~~~~~~waves to everyone~~~~~~~~

Morning all.. Just a quick one as I have to get our Kiwi some brekky and I am partial to some myself. To our friend Bev. asking about Lancaster in New Zealand.. The only place we know of is a place called Lancaster Park which is a stadium in Christchurch, now called Jade Statium.. In the older days it may have been the name of the area and got its name that way... Off to have a lovely day shopping and lunching at the Club on the beach and a bit of sightseeing..Its a hard life but after our stressfull few weeks it is nice relaxing therapy,, not good for the figure but I will join the WWmob when I return to good health.. They do say feed a cold and starve a fever so I am doing the feeding part,,, See ya later Love Maryxxxx

Morning Wattlers. Another sunny day in Mudgee. Rebs, are you sure you're going to leave us? We're going to miss you Babe :-(((( Trifley, pleased you liked your parcel. It was Laurie's idea and I just happened to have a couple of things I thought would be suitable, lol. Aren't our wattle keyrings special? Tony, I can recommend two Islands up that way, at both ends of the money spectrum. Brampton which has wonderful scenery, butterflies, turtles, fish and birds and caters for kids. The other that we have been to a couple of times is Bedarra. Completely over the top! But we love it. Yvette, we can do the aqua aerobics at our place. We have a 15m lap pool (3m wide), so there's plenty of room. Okay, let's get this WWW underway. I'm 178cm tall and weigh 75.2kg. My goal weight is 67kg. Ahh, confusion is good for soul. Well, I'm off to have some cereal for breakfast. Chat soon. Lew Lew xxx

Good afternoon Wattlers, suns out but the wind is a bit much to be outside today. Good for the 3loads of washing I did this morning though. JudeDIY, thanks for the wattle keyring, you are a cleaver thing. Me ,I'm allergic to anything that involves a needle and thread...lol Laurie isnt it great when you find something that gives you new enthusiasm(?) for your FH. A diary is such a great find. Trifley are you all back to normal now? Tony must be having a great time, thank heavens the meals are included or at those prices he may have been on a crash diet. They will be in for a change of weather when they get home, afraid winter is still around in Melb. Spoke to my daughter Kate this morning, she had just got back from Sth Africa where she patted lion cubs, baby girrafes and Hyena cubs. She said it was a fantastic experience. Lucky thing, its such a shame her year overseas has been spoilt by the idiots of the world. ~~~~~HI~~~~~ to all the other wattlers, have a great day Flakey

Good Afternoon Wattlers Firstly - au revoir to Rebs. I say au revoir rather than goodbye as I hope you will come back to us some time in the future. Congratulations on your success with the Irish Dancing costume and congratulations to your talented daughter for her dancing success. You have both done very well! Take care Rebs and be happy. I hope you will keep in touch with some of the Wattlers via MSN and they will keep us up to date on your adventures. Tuesday night approaching fast - perhaps this will be the lucky one! There had to be a reason for you to get tonight's ticket Vonny. Writing group this morning. We are to be published in our local paper - along with a photograph! I think my piece will appear in about a fortnight so I will let you know if I have any approaches from publishers!!! It's scary really - exposed to the world as it were! Re losing weight. Yvette - I am really serious and am not at all upset that you put the BMI information on the thread. For me, it's not just vanity - I need to lose weight as I have Diabetes 2 and high blood pressure and they are so much better controlled when I weigh a little less. I originally lost 15 kgs about 4 years ago after I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. I saw a a dietician and she helped me understand the type of foods I should be eatiing and I followed her advice and did a lot of walking both outdoors and on the tread mill. Since then, I have retired and am not as active and tend to have morning and afternoon teas with Chris and the weight has started to creep back on. So I know I have to get serious about losing the extra kilos from a health point of view. I'm going to hate it as I love my little extras but it's really the difference betweeen being healthy or not. When I lost the weight last time, I found it helpful to keep a diary of what I ate - it keeps you honest when you have to write it down. There is a graph in the back of the diary to plot your weight loss over time. I used to lose 1 - to 1 and a 1/2 kilos a week so I was sensible about it. I just ate healthy, smaller serves (smaller plates are good!) and resisted temptation - mostly! Have just collected the mail and what a lovely surprise - the Wattlers key ring from Jude! Thankyou so much Jude - the fabric is gorgeous. What a lovely idea and what a clever girl you are. It is very much appreciated. Big waves to all the dear Wattlers Love Anna

Rebs.....boo hoo, blessings for you and come back some time soon, don't lose touch. Now Jood, did I read this correctly? If we win tonight you want Lew Lew to email you in advance so that you can tell Tony, presumably before you go out :) Why can't Lew lew tell us ALL in advance???????? PMSL (sorry) Was taken out to lunch by staff/students as today was their last lesson. Some new staff apparently coming on the 2nd Sept so I had better enjoy my mini break :) ~~~~~~~~~~(its got cold) Vonny

Did I say that Vonny ??? ............. *looking innocent* I meant for Lew to leave me an email if we won AFTER she has put the numbers on the thread for you lot - and then I'd ring Tony when I got home (only if we won) I'm sure news would spread very very quickly if we won any more than a polly waffle or a cherry ripe .. pmsl Jood
