Euro news 1 hour ago ...there are unconfirmed reports that the leader of al Qaeda Osama bin Laden is dead. The information apparently comes from Saudi Security sources who have in the past been said to be reliable. According to those sources bin Laden suffered from a strong bout of typhoid that left him partially paralysed whilst he was in Pakistan at the end of last month. Saudi secret services are apparently waiting to find out more information - in particular bin Laden's burial site - before making any official announcement. I am off now too, yvette x |

Good morning Well - what a lot of waffling went on last night after I was tucked up safely in my bed! Us peasants have to get an honest night's rest in view of the fact we have to slave away to placate our masters during the day..... Yoooohooooo.....Jude - are you off the roof yet????? Congratulations on getting another good line of numbers. I'm off to turn on the radio to check out the story on Osama. Heard the 6.30am news and I don't think there was anything on that ... however I have been known to cat nap through the news when I'm listening to it in bed first thing in the morning! Have a great day everyone....bows to the royal members Luv Anna PS Division 4 paid $41.45 .... I'll have a Cherry Ripe thanks. |

Morning Wattlers and Good it is not! The weather is disgusting. We have just been buffetted with 125km wind gusts and 3 of us have just had to rescue the $3000 pool cover!!! Reminded us very much of sailing across Bass Strait! The temperature is high (28C) and a lot of our trees are taking a pounding. Ohh well, nothing to do, but ride it out. Lew Lew xxx |

Congrats on the WattleLotto everyone!! Will be following Weagles next week, and the Storm (who have quite a few supporters around here) in the rugby. It's turned stormy overnight and a bit chilly so glad I did garden yesterday. We are almost ready to leave - will be away till Wednesday night. Haven't heard from Japan - but not worried. DD sms'd before leaving ' mum I think I forget my yen', followed by another text ' joking' !! I knew she had it, so didn't get too spooked! Signing off then till later in the week, take care all, ~~~ Hz |

Morning Wattlers, blimey a girl misses one day on here and 8 pages later... JudeDIY, well done ,we're heading in the right direction for a big win by christmas. But you have to get down off the roof to collect our money..lol Seems I missed a very important occasion, the dubbing of a new princess, congratulations from a humble peasant. Jill, hang in there, our thoughts are with you, pop in when you can. We have had more dramas with our leaking pipe in the ceiling. Roy fixed the original leak thursday night and there was still a very small drip all that night which we thought was the water in the ceiling drying up. But it kept dripping and fri night I noticed the ceiling was beginning to bow so clever OH decides he would put a very small hole in the plaster and release the water that was collecting . Bad move. The small hole grew before our eyes and then the roof fell in........I was a great help, I laughed so much I couldn't stand up...We have now found 4 pin sized holes in the pipe so the whole thing has to be replaced, and so does a 2mtr x3mtr section of plaster. Bit of a drastic way to get the room painted. And trying to sleep in Jess's double bed under her ceiling of glowing stars is not fun either......pmsl Now I have to wash all the towels that have been used to mop up so I'll be back later. ~~~~~~everyone Damp Flakey |

PMSL, Flakey, probably not hubby's wisest move, lol Princess Laurie, welcome to royalty. In Mudgee, Terry is known as Prince Terroir and I as Princess Luigi, lol, don't ask me why, we just are! Jill (((special hugs))) JudyYV for goodness sakes, get off that roof before you're blown to NZ! And don't take the winning ticket with you, lol Have a great break Heather. Batten down the hatches, the wind gusts are back!!!! *races off to find the number for the SES* Lew Lew x |

Ooooh Flakey (pmsl) been there done that!! Took us six months to get workmen when a storm let water in under the roof and our ceiling bowed like that! But got it fixed eventually, new plaster and then painted, looks good (better!) then new. UPDATE - phone rang just then and DD sounded as if she was next door. So far Tokyo is just like Melbourne she says!! But had an awesome breakfast, slept OK (hot) and loved the japanese style ryokan accomodation. Sightseeing today - Ueno markets, then Asakusa Kannon Temple area, then Akihabara (electronic discount shopping), then Meiji Shrine and Yoyogu Park where artists perform on Sundays. Full Day! So proud of her. I'm really signing off for a few days now, ~~Hz |

Blowing a gale here too Lew - tho sun is shining. Hope that wasn't your pool cover that flew past. As you say - batten down the 'atches - I have to go out in it soon too :(( .. Will have to wash my hair, don't think I'll need a blow dry. I'm sooo glad the lovely biiiiig tree was pulled down earlier this year, it was just outside my bedroom window. .. I used to move to the bedroom further away from it when the wind got strong! .. Incidentally, the elkhorn which was recovered from the tree, and given to me still attached to a small portion of said tree, is really flourishing now. .. A nice memento. btw - Princess DI(y) didnt return my text msg - either she's scooted with the money - or she is screaming for help on the roof, - still. Flakey, must admit I did giggle too at your predicament, but it was a kinda sympathetic giggle .. pmsl Jood |

We got close in 2001 when we holidayed in Hong Kong and took a bus tour up to the Chinese borders ( New Territories ).......but I'm not surposed to be talking Holiday, as money is needed for the renovations I'm doing. Oh Flakey, I know it isn't funny but I just couldn't help myself. pmsl...still am, everytime I think about it. Hey Lew, you flying kites down Mudgee way or somefink. Enjoy your break Hz Windy here today but gentle wind, sunny also, not a cloud in the sky. Talking of skies, my daughter did the same thing - glowing stars on the walls and ceiling of her room. Did the southern hemisphere. Was a bu**er of a job to paint her room when we sold our house. Probably some stars still there. Hi Jood, where are you off to today ? Thinking of lunch, be back later Pam |
