hi all, thought i would confirm the wind. we've got a few big trees, lucky the wind blowing them the other way. We had the nicest walk this morning, warm and actually sheltered where we went. I've been washing blankets, so if there is rain coming too, i'de better get cracking. Sound of music this arvo, miles has been let off as he wasn't impressed with the idea. I think that the Bin Laden stuff is media driven. Apparently none of it is substantiated. Boy its hard to curtsey and walk backwards. With the increase in royalty, will have to practice. Beautiful day here on the lovely Darling Downs - no water but the sun is shining and it's a perfect Spring day. Hold onto your hats you guys down South. Oh Jude - what a bbb....r about your ceiling. We had a water pipe burst in our ceiling last year - carpets and furniture sodden - just horrible. Hope you are back to normal soon. Tony - that sounds like a really good deal you got with tree maker. Beauty mate. Ironing and watching South Pacific - a new version made for TV. Not as good as the original. Afternoon Wattlers Well I hope you are all glad that I thought of you and decided to share our strong/Gale force winds with you lol. It is still raining here but the wind has died down quite a lot. I have to pick up Dannielle from her scout camp at 4.00 so it will be interesting to see how they got on and if they braved it by sleeping in the tents or if they slept in the schools gym. It made the news as there was Cubs from all over Tassie with leaders and some Scouts who were selected to help as leaders, which is why Dannielle went, we didnt see her on tv thought. Tamika seems to be back to her usual self, now bored and waiting for school to start again on Tuesday. We took the kids to the mueseum to have a look at a collection of 'Sols' work. Mainly focusing on his cartoon character 'Snake' not sure if you all have heard of him but we get Snake in our local newspaper in the comic section. Alan Saulsbury (sp) was born in Vic and now live in Launceston. He has made it OS with his catroons, you have to laugh at the adventures of poor Snake trying to impress Lady Snake lol. It is invisible in daylight and only comes readable in the dark.so when you turn the light out it glows there above you..couldnt have done any good as that couple got devorsed and sold the house to our kids. Well Wattlers, Sunday is nearly all gone !! Mary, you left the chocolate on the cupboard and I'm trying real hard not to have a nibble . . . but its really hard when you throw one liners about blow jobs !!!! PMSL The day started out lovely here - then the winds came in - fortunately we are protected on the balcoonie so were able to watch it all unfold. Even saw a plane abort its landing due to the great gusts. The city looks eerie all coated in dust, and if you stood on the beach you would get sand blasted. Afternoon All and the weather didn't get any better. We went to lunch and when we came home, found the local Abattoir (which is in the middle of being renovated) was on fire! Apparently, a piece of corrugated iron blow up and wrapped itself around the electricity wires. This, combined with the high winds, has caused a rather nasty fire. Thank goodness the winds are blowing in the opposite direction!!!! Anyway, we were without power for quite some time and the winds have only just subsided. The pool is full of wood chips and will take a fair bit of cleaning. ~~waves to all~~ and will check in again soon. Lew Lew xxx

Lol Actually I thought, now I can have a shower ok, despite no power, cos I have a gas heater – so why did I reach out for the hair dryer ? Hmmmm??? ... Brain not thinking too good. Had to ring g/f up to pick me up – as I couldn’t get the b*****y car out of the car (since its electrical also). .. I did have a key, but I have a feeling I am supposed to do something to the roller door on the inside, and there not being a male in sight, I had to give up. .. I really must find out how to do it for next time. Pam, only went to the local bowling club at the other end of my street. .. They have a badge draw once a month, I’ve never been before. .. Wind was so strong that a huge tree fell across the road whilst we were in the club – police – firebrigade everywhere – and that was only once place. .. I have heard sirens since I;ve been home. .. Missed the first part of the news, but did hear that there were gale force winds, fires in/around Richmond (bottom of mtn) and trees down everywhere. .. Welcome to summer SES !!!! .. I bet they never expected to be on duty so early in the season. Speaking of a star studded ceiling – girlfriend that I visit up the coast has just bought a house, and when I was a guest, my room ceiling was navy blue with all these stars – I didn’t know what hit me! .. lol Hope the winds subside everywhere soon - anyone know what caused them - since they started in Tassie.
