Vonny, not surprised you can't sleep. My little great neice is also called Mia. She is about to get a little brother in Feb, so I don't think I will copy you 'balloons'. Relax while you can and ENJOY..........Talk later today, that should shock you into bed..........I'm off Pam |

Morning Wattlers from DC Congrats to Vonny & John on another beautiful granddaughter and welcome to the world Ella - she sure was in a hurry. Glad it all went well - bet lots of women wish their labour was that quick!!! We are on the final leg of our 3 week odyssey - we will be glad when it is Saturday here as we fly home - so sick of dragging suitcases around all the time - have enjoyed it all tho - well after NY anyway for me. Loved Ottawa as I said before, not so sure about Toronto - rather busy and noisy like NY but we had a great time sightseeing there thanks to Grayline with a 3 day bus pass. Hostel was okay but we really do like our comforts. Niagara Falls were magical, magnificent, impressive - think you get the picture - I really don't think there are enough words to describe them at all - you've just got to see them to believe it. We arrived in DC yesterday - bit bus lagged as we left Niagara at 11.30 pm and just made the connecting bus to DC at 10 am - would probably have had to wait another hour for the next one if we had missed that I'm guessing. Hotel Harrington is old but comfortable and downtown so things aren't too far in walking distance. Daughter gave me blisters again - left foot only after hiking around Niagara trying to find Cirque Niagara which we went to Sunday night. Then next day we had to walk same way to get to Marineland - it's a 1.5 k walk each way - well would be if we went in a straight line but she detours and deviates - some days we have walked for almost 12 hours - who said exercise was good for you - I think she's trying to kill me!!!! We are off to see the sights of DC so I had better get off here - mind you had lots of trouble getting on and trying to catch up with emails etc. and daughter bitching about us getting up early to catch first bus - it's now an hour later than we planned - oh well we will get there. Hope things are going okay for y'all back home - might manage to catch up a bit more tonight to see what you're all up to. Have a great day Love to everyone - oh belated happy birthday to Julie - hope you had a good one. Gwenda xx |

Good morning Wattlers Late night I see Fluff and Vonny! Hope you both managed to get some restful sleep eventually. Lovely to hear from Gwenda - her poor feet will never be the same again. She sounds as if she's having a wonderful time. Sunny day here - Chris is going ahead with the digging machine despite the wet ground as more rain is forecast and he's going to Perth early next week and wants to have it all done before he goes. Tank arrives just after he gets back. Sending best wishes to all those who are not in the best of health. Cilla - hope the resuslts will be OK and to Mary's John and SuzyQ's Neville, hope you are both back to good health soon. Lew - hope the foot is improving and that Prince Charming is attending to your every need. Hi Heather - you sound suitably relaxed and the news from Japan all sounds good. When is she due home? I'm not looking forward to today - there will be mud everywhere and we're not allowed to use hoses so fun times ahead! Have a great day everyone Luv Anna |

Good morning Wattlers, a very hazy sort of day here on the Bay, a container ship is just making its way through the heads, and there are only two giraffe holding their heads up high. Ah I missed Gwenda . . . as she said, Niagara Falls is hard to explain, it is magnificent, powerful, mind blowing. I can sympathize with the poor feet too, it is a hilly terrain, and spread out - walking there can be hard going. I am out early this morning so best get off this puter and get ready. Cant you later Have a great day luv Laurie |

Good morning Wafflers and a special good morning and welcome to Miss Ella, great name. Well after all that waiting you certainly decided to make a grand entrance, didn't you. How are you this morning, Nanna Vonny. Foot is feeling much better this morning. There's no infection, just bad bruising. Thank you for the photo of one of the brothers, Trifles. That seems to have done the trick, lol. Pity it wasn't a front shot, heeeeeee. Look after yourselves Neville, John, Cilla, Shaz and whoever else is not feeling their best. Hey, who's killing the black snakes! Don't do that, they keep the brown snakes away. Black snakes will only strike you if they feel threatened. They would rather keep out of your way, whereas the brown snakes are aggressive and will do anything to have a go at you. I have a fantastic photo of a black snake eating a brown. Great to hear from you Gwenda. Sounds like you're having a ball. That's the only thing I hate about travelling, dragging the blasted suitcase around. Well I'm off to get brekky. ~~~~waves to all~~~~ Lew Lew xxx |

Morning Lew, glad you are feeling much better. (You must be if you wanted to see full frontals, hahaha) Please dont send the pic of the black snake eating the brown snake :( Anna/SuzieQ - do either of you have the music site someone told us to try .. forget who it was, someone from UK ? who doesnt use the Wattle thread very much, was a few days ago, and one of you played some of the music. I'm not sure if it's going to be cold or hot today. .. It doesn't seem to be one or t'other. .. Sure as eggs I dress warm it will turn out to be hot, and vice versa. Haven't heard from Tassie for a few days - and still no word from Shaz. Have a good one Jood |

Hi again It's 9.25 pm in DC - beautiful day it's been here. We leave tomorrow night and there is so much to see and do but we aren't going to have the time to do it all - guess that means we will be back - 2008 is looking promising as the Smithsonian Museum of American History will reopen in summer 2008 - it's being totally refurbished so is closed at present. Took the Trolley tour today and did the orange and green loops. The orange loop takes you all round the city and the green takes you out into the burbs and around the National Cathedral and out near the Zoo. After a bite of lunch we hopped on the orange loop again and this time got off out at Arlington Cemetery. Saw part of the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and then walked back to see JFK's memorial and then Bobby Kennedy's. We've just eaten at the Elephant & Castle so are a bit full - big plate full of salad and green beans and in between I had another dish full of shepherds pie - definitely wasn't going to attempt dessert after my experience in Ottawa. Have some Hershey's choccie anyway to keep me going if I'm peckish - don't know if all this exercise is doing anything for my figure as we aren't slouching on the food - lol We got to a baseball game in Toronto - Toronto Blue Jays v Boston Red Sox - my team won on the Friday night but lost the next two games - at least the locals would have been happy. If we had known we could have gone the first night we arrived and Dayna could have seen her NY Yankees in action. Can't believe it is nearly all over - we have another bus trip back to NY tomorrow night and then fly out to LA Friday morning. Saturday night we fly home. Wattie is behaving and has had lots of adventures along the way too - have lots of piccies to share when we get home. Have a great day everyone - all those not up to par hope you are feeling better soon. Love & ~~~~~~~~ to all Gwenda xx |

Jude - I have a vague idea Wilson was off camping somewhere, remember? Gwenda, I went to Arlington Cemetery and the changing of the guard - very impressive. One of the things I really wanted to do was see a baseball game, more than anything else - I did see one - some 7yo kids playing (they kept running to their mommy's at the fence all the time lol) - some game! Ah Cilla - pmsl -poor mousie.Hate them little blighters. Had one in the pantry and it ate dry 2 min noodles it was so fat it couldn't run. I rang Ken (who was at work) and said what will I do? He said get the cat and chuck in in the pantry - well the cat wasn't impressed - it busted out of the doorquick smart - I don't think he liked the look of the 'michellin mouse'. Well I ended up trapping it under a bucket while I looked for something heavy to clobber it. Ding - the rolling pin! - so I wrapped the rolling pin in cling film (lots of it - I didn't want no germs transmitted) lifted the bucket and smacked it. I was so devastated I had killed it, that I rang Ken and was so incoherent sobbing he wondered what was going on - I was shaking like a leaf. I just put the bucket back over the top of it so Ken could remove it when he got home. He and the kids kept telling me I was a murderer- lol. Jim should have used the rolling pin! - could have saved a Chiro bill. jude 3 |

AAhhh you crazy lot..Mice stories..now .. a few weeks before we moved out of our house we found we had a mouse.. So setting the traps we eventually caught it .. Thinking that was all I found out it had a mate..so started setting the traps again..4 weeks before we sold the house I still hadnt caught it so the new people inherited it with the house..They had a cat so I will say it would have been caught by now as it would have been to fat to run fast enough to outwit the cat as it had been well fed with the cheese I kept putting in the traps and it kept eating without getting caught. To date no mice here thank goodness.. Judy YV Put it all back.. what could we do with that little amount..It wont get Tony a plasma so put it back..we might get 5 or 6 numbers next time... Sandra Hope you got a good alarm clock.. what an ungodly hour to get up... SusyQ Hope OH is feeling a lot better.. Vonny Have you had another cuddle...oohh you are lucky... Jood Whatcha do today... Off to do some more FH Back later Love maryxxxx |
