Good morning Wafflers . . a bit chilly here this morning on the Bay too! Fresh wind is a blowing, and the sun is trying hard to come through a cover of empty looking clouds. So far this morning we have had 2 ships leaving and three arriving, so the little men on the pilot boats have been kept busy. Three giraffe with outstretched necks . . I get the impression they are trying to see if there is any rain in them there clouds. Bazza has taken his pole down on to the beach . . . thats a fishing pole for those that thought other things . . to see if he can catch me a nice fish for dinner. He found my cd collection early this morning and I awoke to the sound of 'Walk like and Egyptian . . . ' And clean windows, apparently he likes clean windows - so that is going to be handy with all the salty sea air and the pollution from the airport and traffic that builds up so quickly here on the glass. We wont go far from the tellie today, TLR will be wishing he were up home so he could be down watching the race - just have to settle for it on the tellie. Well I must go check how the hunter and gatherer is going on the beach. luv Laurie

Morning Wattlers, Not a good one, I was hoping we might get a win. It looks like we may have to get a new water heater. Our pump keeps coming on and Neville went to look, the water heater has developed some kind of leak. B**********r. On top of that, because of it we have been losing water from the tank. Go on, I am guessing the Princesses are saying it serves me right for being so sulky. Promise I won't whinge any more. ( fingers crossed behind my back ) Didn't do to bad in the quiz for a migrant. Think I would have passed the test, for my citizenship. What am I talking about, I did pass the test and I have a certificate to prove it. Welcome John and Merle. Don't know where everyone gets the idea we are all mad, I think we are all normal. The best group of people you would ever get together in one place. Merle I am in South East Qld. Back, after discussing the water heater. Neville has just gone to Bunnings to buy a new one. Electrician all lined up, am hoping the plumber can get here today. He's a mate so fingers crossed. No Lara, we used our good friend Google too . . . and why not - thats what he is there for !! Minf you TLR googled and found the convict thingy in Tas and had the right answer - but me . . . I found Sarah Island in my Aussie Genealogy book . . . so it must be right and everyone else wrong !! (that was the one that caused unrest in the household . . teeehee) I have sent Merle a pm so hopes she gets in touch. She snuk in and out quickly last night . . . hope we dina scare her off! Hi all Mary & Tony - loved the poems Lara - that email was so disgusting I have to pass it on - pmsl I had help with the quiz Lara - World Book Australasia volume. OH couldn't multi-task - was watching TV at the time. Funny I was watching TV, cheating and answering the questions. Still we all know men can only handle one thing at a time - lol Cilla - hope you finally get some answers - it must be very frustrating. Merle - welcome - as others have said before we are a great bunch of peeps here so drop in anytime and have a natter. Lyn - I was only up early cos I work weekends, plus stupid Ginger cat had been bouncing over my head so just easier to let him and the others out. A hug is 'Welcome back again!' and, 'Great to see you' or 'Where've you been?' A hug can soothe a small child's pain and bring a rainbow after rain. The Hug! There's just no doubt about it, we scarcely could survive without it. A hug delights and warms and charms, it must be why God gave us arms. Hugs are great for fathers and mothers, sweet for sisters, swell for brothers, and chances are some favourite aunts, love them more than potted plants. Kittens crave them. Puppies love therm. Heads of state are not above therm. A hug can break the language barrier. And make the dullest day seem merrier. No need to fret about the store of 'em. So stretch those arms without delay and give someone a hug today. I am sending each and every one of you a hug so gather in close. Without your love and support, the past fortnight would have been so much harder to bear. Thank you for flowers, phone calls, cards, prayers and messages and of course Wattie who arrived here safe and sound on Friday. You are all the most amazing bunch of peeps and I feel honoured to call you my friends. Luv Pam

Evening All Firstly good to see you back Pam, and as Tony said what beautiful words, ((((hugs)))) to you. We had a quiet weekend, both girls went away for weekend, Dannielle went to Scout Island and had a camp in tents for 2 nights, the first night it was -1 and she said they all had trouble sleeping as it was so cold. Tamika went to a birthday sleep over last night and they also slept in tents she also thought it was cold. They both looked forward to sleeping in their own beds tonight. Watched car racing on TV yesterday and today and that is all I will say about the race:-((( Looking forward to 3 weekends time when the V8 will be in Tassie and a different result I hope, we will be there sitting on bank cheering Lowndes on to victory, well 2 of us will, the other 2 ( who have got no taste) will be going for the opposition lol. Speaking of competition - *I* dinny cheat. .. Not like them others. .. I got 50% - 28 correct. .. Was surprised, I thought I'd get more - (in fact, I really thought, this is a breeze, I'll get 100% :(. .. Must say I did know the 3 explorers who crossed the blue mountains. .. And Tony - Australia isn't a country - its the only continent innit??? Had a great weekend - g/f came on board train at her station, as originally planned, but grabbed me and said 'we have to get off' - you never saw such a flurry as I grabbed coat, bag, case etc and dashed off (change of plans, you see) - but despite the cold and shivery weather we did have a good time. .. Even ferried across to the Upper North Shore (Palm Beach) - wow - waves were so high, ferry was rocking madly. .. For some strange and weird reason, everyone was laughing, including me!!! .. But then, Aussies do have a weird sense of humour. Sorry we didn't win lotto - was looking forward to a text msg from Lew, so I knew the news was bad. Jood

Lara - you going to Mudgee next week - thought you were going north - you can't expect your caravan to stay clean till February 2007??? .. pmsl Not a fierie in sight Lara, nor any of that sex. .. Wasn't looking for any. .. Had a nice meal in (I think) Ettalong, with g/f and her daughter and prospective son in law.
