Ivning Wattlers. So Jilly wants to learn Ozzie lingo Laurie...:>))) Hope this helps. Sittin' at home last Sunday mornin' me mate Boomerrang Said he was havin' a few people around for a barbie, Said he might Kookaburra or two. I said, 'Sounds great, will Wallaby there?' He said 'Yeah and Vegemite come too'. So I said to the wife 'Do you wanna Goanna?'. She said 'I'll go if Dingos'. So I said 'Wattle we do about Nulla?' He said 'Nullabors me to tears, leave him at home.' We got to the party about two and walked straight out the kitchen to put some booze in the fridge. And you wouldn't believe it, there's Boomer's wife Warra sittin there tryin to Platypus! Now, I don't like to speak Illawarra, but I was shocked, I mean how much can a Koala bear. So I grabbed a beer, flashed me Wangarratta and went out and joined the party. Pretty soon Ayers Rocks in and things really started jumpin'. This Indian girl, Marsu, turns up, dying to go to the toilet but she couldn't find it. I said to me mate Al, 'Hey, where can Marsupial?' He said 'She can go outback with the fellas, she's probably seen a cockatoo'. Well just then Warra comes out of the kitchen with a few drinks for everybody. Fairdinkum, you've never seen a Coolabah maid. I grabbed a beer and said, 'Thanks Warra - tah'. A couple of Queenslanders were at the party, one smellin' pretty strongly of aftershave. One of 'em sat down next to me and I turned to him and I said, 'Ya know mate, Eureka Stockade!' It was a really hot day; Oscar felt like a swim. He said to Ina, 'Do you want a have a dip in the Riverina?' She said 'I haven't got my Kosciusko'. Well Bo says, 'Come in starkers, Wattle they care!' Ina says 'What, without so much as a Thredbo?' Ah, Perisher thought! Has Eucumbine in yet? Well a few of the blokes decided to play some cricket. Boomer says 'Why doesn't Wombat?' 'Yeah, and let Tenterfield'. He said I should have a bowl but I was too out of it to play cricket so I suggested a game of cards. I said to Lyptus 'Wanna game of Eucalyptus?' He said 'There's no point mate, Darwins everytime.' Well Bill said he'd like a smoke. Nobody knew where the dope was stashed. I said 'I think Merinos.' But I was just spinning a bit of a yarn. Barry pulls a joint out of his pocket. Bill says 'Great, Barrier Reefer, what is it mate?' 'Noosa Heads of course. Me mate Adelaide 'em on me.' And it was a great joint too, Blue Mountains away and his Three Sisters. Well I thought I'd roll one meself, I said 'Chuck us the Tally Hobart'. He said 'They're out on the Laun, Ceston, can you get em for us?' Burnie says 'Its okay mate, she's apples, I'll get em for ya' Just then Alice Springs into action, starts to pack Billabong. And you wouldn't believe it, the bongs broken. I said 'Lord Howe!' 'Hay-man' somebody says 'Will a Didgeridoo?' I said 'Hummmmm mummmm mummmmm mummmmm maybe it'll have ta.' I look in the corner and there's Bass sittin there, not getting into it, not getting out of it, I said 'What, is Bass Strait or somthin?' Boomer says 'As a matter a fact mate, he's a cop' I said 'Ya jokin mate, a cop, I'm getting outta here, lets Goanna.' She said 'No way, I'm hangin round till Gum leaves. Besides, I dont wanna leave Jacardanda party on his own. Have you seen him? I think he's trying to crack on Toowoomba, he's already tried to Mount Isa And he'll definitely try to lead you Australiana!' Time for a Tablet.....:>)) Tony Oz |

Hello Trifley, Tony & Joodles, Thank you very much for your help re Mack family. Yes Tony Mina would be Jemima...Yes this is same family. Have printed off info you posted here & will take it to work with me this morning, which will make my mate Viv very happy. I agree...that it's difficult to find info re the surviving daughter of Bill & Mina, as Viv's mum could not remember her name...only that she was younger than Barbara who had died @ 7 re cancer 1954. I would estimate a guess that remaining daughter to have been born possibly 1949 to early 1950's....& later married; making the search more difficult re change of name. If I can gather anymore info re her, I'll post it here. Again....many thanks for taking the time, it's greatly appreciated. Take care eh....Best Wishes to all. Carol. |

Morning All from a cold Tassie Gwenda yes we do know we are heading towards summer. But it is Hobart Show weekend and our weather is always s****y til after then, although we cant complain cause the other week when Launceston had their show it was a beautiful day for the Thursadays peoples day and rained on Saturday, the same looks like happening in Hobart it was their peoples day yesterday and they had a beautiful day, but yes snow is predicted in places, who knows we may have a white chrissy over here, anyone interested :-))))) lol Tamika went back to school today, I was in 2 minds as the weather isnt the best, but she rugged up well. She has her first official work session tonight, on Tuesday it was a training night, she seems to like it which is good. Well must go and do a bit of that dreaded word as I havent done any for a couple of days with Tamika being home, and I have a visitor at lunch time. Catch you all after. Cheers Sue |

Good morning all Sunny and dry in Queensland - 29 degress predicted today - so what's new! Duckers - you said good night to everyone last night and I'd already toddled off to bed to read my book - lovely to see your message. ((((((((((hugs))))))))) Hope you are getting back to your normal cheeky self Queenie. We're going to an Irish show at our local live theatre tonight - singing and dancing so looking forward to it. Toowoomba has been in shock this week - the popular school captain of one of our local private schools committed suicide. He had 3 weeks to go until the end of year 12 - was an accomplished sportsman and a good student. No one had the remotest idea that he was depressed. It's just so awful. He gassed himself in the car at home. Please remember him and his family in your prayers - only his Dad and little brother as their Mum died 2 years ago. I think every parent here has hugged their children and begged them to share their problems instead of bottling them all up. Katherine is shooting a movie again this weekend so once more I'll have a houseful. I don't mind - it's good to see them having fun. Have a good day everyone Love Anna |

Dearest Anna, what a terrible waste of such a young life and what a tragedy for his father and brother. Healing thoughts heading to this family from me (((xxx))). You wonder about the pressures put on kids these days. The system seems to think that all children must go on to do their HSC then onto University. Hey, what's wrong with being a plumber, electrician, secretary, cleaner, etc., etc. Nothing! Okay, I'll get off my soap box now. Overcast with thunderstorms predicted. Keep your fingers crossed! Off to get some brekky Back soon Lew Lew xxx |
