There is a beautiful obituary in our Courier Mail - Brisbane's leading daily - for Pam's husband, Terry, today. He was obviously so highly regarded. You must be very proud of him Fluff. Well they've stuck it in Merseyside instead of leaving it in Lancashire :-(( (was going to do one of those faces then remembered I'm on the wrong site lol). It's good for history, the Industrial Revolution was big around here but in general it's just another medium sized town. I guess it's a case of familiarity breeds contempt lol. Lots of old coal mines now shut down. We also have Pilkington glass although the Japanese own it now. |

I see Cat, ours is a beautiful little town makingf a living from fishing as it is one of the main fishing areas. Of late though it has turned very touristy and the prices have risen accordingly. So when we go there we take our own food from home, went and bought a $4.00 of chips one time thinking it would do enough chippy sangas for 4 haa haa only got a small bag enough for 1, so needless to say we learnt our lesson. Ouch, I guess there are downsides wherever you go lol Some places need tourists, it's just a shame they can, sometimes, ruin things and cause prices to go sky high |
