Hi Everyone, Just popped in to let you know that i am not sitting under a tree eating cherry ripes :-))) I still havn't even been to collect our winnings yet, maybe Friday!!! Very busy at work and farming. Nice to have something to farm about though lol. Hope you are all fit and well, havn't had a chance to read the thread today, and starting to feel a bit out of touch. Afternoon all Hey Tony your Hail stopped and we got it, so a mad rush to the clothes line to grab towels, pegs flying everywhere, got back inside and hail stopped grrr wouldnt you know it. Anyway I have been to the shops, made a shepherds pie for tonights tea. Just sitting having a coffee and listening to the radio and I got to wondering if an event happening over here is just a Tassie thing or do other places have the same things happen. We have a big North South rivalry that has been going on for as long as I can remember. South are always whinging that the North has AFL footy, V8's, our own Monkeys etc etc and the fact that they are the Capital and should have those things, and us up in the North are happy that we have those things up North and we think we should be the Capital, we also believe we have the better beer :-) and what does Hobart have mmmmmm oh thats right Sillywanker Market hee hee. Anyway the Southern radio station morning segment put out a challenge to the Launceston radio station of a tug of war for bragging rights on who the better place is hee hee, it is to be held in Oatlands, which is half way between Hobart and Launceston. this tug of war is supposed to be happening tomorrow morning. I say supposed as some think it is only a scam to see if Lonnie fall for it as Hobart have played pranks before, so time will tell. Anyway as our radio station has stated, what will it prove as we still have all that Hobart wish they had. :-)))))))))) Cheers Sue

Sooorrrryyyy fanny I'll type slower to see it that helps pmls, yes I had heard a bit with Melb v Syd rivalry here we have that in the same state and if Tasmania was a person, where would the City of Hobart be situated heee heee and we would have the brains, that is why we say to close the gate when crossing the border going to the other end of the state dont want to be invaded by Southerners :-))) Oooh our weather is also better at the moment we have 13 and they only have 8. its quite handy having the roudy weather update from down south. prepares us up here. I hate hail, the best lot of tomatoes I ever grew(maybe not THE best) all different colours and heritage types, looked after them sooo well, got done in by hail, but my basil bushes survived. Have put the guinea pigs away so they're not 'done in' I've never been to Melbourne, but my eldest son loves it. hes off to watch the boxing day test down there. yvette x

Just drove home through Sleet and there is ice everywhere on the ground. Not hail - soft. They reckon it is snowing around Canberra - I think I'll start a fire!!! * but in my fireplace* Got to go and do craft at Kid's Club. maybe they will all stay home, it is soooooo cold! Vonny

Mind you its b.cold here today and there has been snow on them thar hills. Its enough to freeze your iscabibbles (my FIL's saying). But there is rain in the tanks. Hey Jood If you go out in that wind with an umbarella I would have a good laugh as it would be inside out in no time..Just take a raincoat.. Hello my Waffling friends. I'm back from my little sojurn into the wilderness which is Kemo. I hope you have all been behaving yourselves while I've been absent. Have Dr Lew and Princess L'oz kept you on your toes? You're not going to believe this.....today being Wednesday, I'm allowed to water for half an hour. However....not today! It's ab-so-loot-ly PPPPPing down with rain, here on the GC. That's my luck.....first day I feel like getting up and about and it b****y rains! Thanks for your happy, cheery emails....I got them all last night and they made me laugh and feel better. You are all wonderful people for thinking of me while I feel under the weather.
