I reckon our childhoods were the bestest Tony - we didnt need tv's or play stations or computers to keep amused. You brought back memories of all those towns you mentioned. .. I will never forget travelling outback - it sure was some experience. .. Unlike you, I haven't kept in touch with childhood friends as I moved from Perth to Sydney as a young mum, adn made new friends. .. I do see one neighbour when I go back to Perth, the other neighbour lives down in the wine growing area of Margaret River. .. I do keep in touch with army friends tho - of some 35 years standing. .. And we do reminisce of boozy formal dinners (and driving home afterwards), as ya did in those days. (And dressing to the nines at such formal dinners) Merle - Hz lives in Albury, NSW. You and flutters are the only Perthites, me being an ex-Perthite. .. Were you born in Albany or somewhere else? .. I have a hard time correcting people on the right pronunciation of Albany :( .. I have a pic of my Dad standing on Dog Rock - I think he'd be arrested today if he did that! Well folks - I'm wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide awake now, off to have my shower. Have a good day all Jood

Morning Wattlers. Well Mudgee town is obscured by smoke, I presume from the Bell fires. It's horrible! Had a nice evening in town with friends. They're the parents of the girl I have been delivering to and collecting from school. Pam's father is in Sydney following heart surgery and when we spoke to Pam and Geoff yesterday, they both sounded pretty stressed. Terry suggested that we grab a couple of pizzas and take them up, so that's what we did and it was a nice relaxing evening. Loved the reminising Tony. I have recently been in touch with some friends who used to live in the same street growing up. We had a great laugh about the things we got up to. Climbing trees, playing hopscotch, riding our bikes and scooters up and down the road, making cubbies out of banana chairs, boy kids today miss out on a lot, lol. Discovered Mu Cat can swim! When I got up this morning, I noticed a lot of water beside the pool and a trail of water around the pool and under the bbq area. At the end of the trail was one very wet cat, lol. Well, at least he's now clean, hhhheeeeee Off to be some brekky Waves to all Lew Lew xxx

Good morning all :) Lovely day. Think I might garden before it gets too hot. Ah yes - those were the days. We lived on the outskirts of 'the bush' at Forestville - it's practically an inner suburb these days, but back then it was all bush. Climbing trees and making cubbys in trees were my favourites. I could spend hours daydreaming at the top of a tree :) ~~~~~~~~~~~ see you later, Vonny

Oh I could go on and on but better stop waffling, Did some child minding yesterday, more next weekend. Morning....:>))))Berocca sounds good for breaky.....Might help meself to a gallon or two. Jill. I couldnt scare a fly off a wall mate. Thanks for the flattery , it will get you everywhere....hee hee O'h..dont forget Debonaire and serfisticated...as well as good looking...O'h, and Modest too....lol Glad you liked the songs, mate, and hoped it gave you a smile....:>)))) Mary.Sorry to hear about your cousins father had died, but what a great life span,( 102 ) and i bet he could tell a few stories, and would be a very interesting man to listen to.I do a lot of work in pensioner homes and salvation army homes. I sit and have a cuppa with the snr citizens, and the lonely peeps, and listen to their stories while I'm working. One poor old dear in her late 90s was telling me that xmas is near, and that she hoped her son would come and visit her. ( Me knowing damn well that he hasn't been to see her in 5 years. ) ..as i talk to the nurses. So have a cuppa with them and listen to them reminiss.Even belt out a few old tunes with them sometimes.....lol Hz. Hoped i made ya feel 21 again...lol x Twas me own fault with the tomato seedlings, as i usually cover them with plastic, but didnt get a round-too-it. Hard to find them Round Too-its....lol I have put in a few more and will give them a bit of TLC. Merle. Hope you saw me in ya dreams......bit of a nighmare..aint i....hee hee.Best wishes to you for today with meeting the birth mum. Joodles. Your dead right mate. Kids of today are victims of the computer technology era, and whizz bang push button brain cell destroyer companies, that thrive on knowing that our kids and grandkids love the preety flashy lights on mobile phones and the likes, and run up whopping big phone bill's that there parents cant afford to pay.( hence Sarah's $900 Phone bill a few months back ) and i still feel the pain.....lol This is why i take my grandkids Kite fly-ing and build them cubby houses, and sand pits now, to save there mothers from killing them in the near future....hee hee Love catching up with old friends, and having a walk down memory lane. Lew- Vonny. Those were the best days of our lives i reckon. Barb drew a hopscotch on the footpath for Sarah the other day, and i was peeking out the window watching them play. Didn't cost me a cent....lol She also showed Sarah about putting a tennis ball in an old pair of stockings and standing against the wall doing what the girls used to do at school in the 50s-60s. Cant remember what it was called, but they used to hit the wall either side of them and under the legs and over the head, and they used to get up a real speed. I tried it once but, nearly ended up with a squeeky voice.....cos i didnt have me legs open wide enough....Nartamean...lol Have a great day peeps. Warm one here in Melbum and expected 31c today. Tony Oz.....:>)))

Hey I remember that game, Tony. It was fun until you hit yourself, lol. Brandings was another game and, ouch, that hurt. And what about crocodile, crocodile, may I cross the river. Hey maybe we should play that one with the Cat, pmsl And elastics was another Kids really do miss out on so much these days, don't they. All us kids in the street use to play on the road until late and there was never a problem. Mary, I don't think of your uncle's passing as a loss. How wonderful to have had him in your life for so long! Okay, better go a clean some more windows! Lew Lew xxx

Oh pooooooooooor Mu Cat, Lew Lew. ..Obviously cats wasn't on your mind - one fell in the water and the other snuck in and pinched a number! .. Tsk tsk Lew! I had fairy gardens in the bush - and I played hoppy on the road, or skippy - even played marbles too. .. Rode my bike down to the little library .. Miss Pound (complete with bun) - would look for a 'romance' book or two for Mum, and I would rummage around for some Milly-Molly-Mandy books for me. I always wanted to work in a little corner shop, so one day I was allowed to weigh up bags of potatoes and bags of sugar (I probably didn't know any better!) .. You remember the bags of broken biscuits you were allowed to buy? .. And you just sat down in the shop and told the lady what you wanted, or gave her a list. .. Too many choices these days. Oh - my little sister liked playing ticket collector, so I used to save the empty ticket butts from the bus driver, and she'd glue old tickets back in the book. .. That was another job I admired, clipping holes in the tickets !!! .. Of course, you could stand on the step in the bus too (in the days when we had conductors). Come on Jood - back to reality time ! .. pmsl Jood

Just one more memory - the Salvation Army band and the girls in their bonnets and timbrels. .. Used to love following them up the street, they would stand in a circle with their trumpets and drums and timbrels. .. No-one minded giving them money when they came to the door. Mary, this is for you - what I'm doing next weekend · Spend the day at Kembla Grange Races. · Visit Kennerton Green Gardens. While Mittagong is still in full bloom – voted as the best garden in Australia by Don Burke. · Enjoy a guided tour of the Don Bradman Museum · Visit the historical town of Berrima. Jood

Morning all, sorry its afternoon isnt it.. Later than I thought. Been out since 915 to church and then some shopping and then when I got home the kids were here with some yummy spicy sausage rolls for morning tea, so you can see I havent had time for much serious thinking..lol Not that I do much of that at best of times.. Lara I hope you have some luck at the genie meet. Merle Good luck with the meet and greet, remember they are more scared than you are. Big HUGS for a happy occasion.. Joodles What a lovely day you have got planned for next weekend. You do go to some nice places and not having to drive is much better still. We have a bus that takes us to different places for lunches or days out but they have mostly finished for the year.At the moment I dont know if John could sit in a bus for to long without becomming uncomfortable. Thats a great club you belong to.. Tony Hows the head.. still seeing double.????Sounds like you had a great time so what the heck... Lew.. Did you say you are cleaning the windows...are you sick or is it visitors comming..lol Has the cat recovered from its dip.. OH is making a moroccan curry for tea tonight,, Sounds interesting. Afternoon all, well I'm just about done in! Have cleaned windows, de-dusted the outdoor area and Lily has had her first wash. No, Mary, she hasn't been fixed. It's only a tiny scratch about 3 inches long. I'll have her repaired at her first service which is in about 300 km. Poor Mu is still sulking in his bed. I'm darned lucky I didn't find him at the bottom of the pool. Don't think I could have coped with that :-( Jood, your upcoming trip sounds fantastic! Wish I was going with you. Only 2 weeks until the Adelaide Test. Looking forward to the cricket and the restaurants, but mostly to catch up with my sister Clare, her hubby Martin (our architect), Belinda (the pregnant niece) and Tim her husband, Bethany, Jared and Caleb. They're a wonderful family and I love them very much. Clare and I are very similar, but she's the bossy one, pmsl, heeee. ~~~to all~~~ Lew Lew xxx

Is that a 1 day or 2 day effort jood? love yvette

Its Saturday and Sunday Fanny, all meals supplied, usually at a club, but I usually go down to my girlfriends place on the Friday - doing a water jerks class along the way, and then we go to their local club for dinner, and raffle, plus pokies, just for a little while - so its a nice long weekend all round. It's actually a dry run practice for Mudgee .. pmsl Lew, if you and I went on that trip down to Kennerton, together, we would kick up a storm lol Jood

Hi all, Loved the reminiscencing - loved elastics - was our lunch time game in primary school. OH used to go scrumping too - but he'd go fruit picking with his Mum and granny during the day then at night off with his uncle (5 year age gap) to the same place - scrumping was more fun of course. All that fruit picking has made him a fussy fruit eater tho - anything bruised and he won't touch it - lol Lara - hope you have a successful day Mary - what a great age to achieve and see so much - my Dad would have been 102 this year had he lived. Fanny - are you a 10 pound Pom as well? Merle - hope things went well for you today - guess the birth Mum was just as nervous Lew - glad Mu got out of the pool - hopefully won't try that again Been in from work about 5 minutes when my hands started itching like crazy - have little rashes on the palms and wrist that drive me crazy - think it must be a stress thing so hopefully it will disappear in December - meanwhile I'll get some relief with some calomine lotion in a mo Hi to everyone - hope you've all had a good weekend and catch up during the week Gwenda

Hello Wattlers We've had a glorious day on the GC today. Sun shining, birds singing and a gentle breeze. I guess there has to be some compensation for not winning Lotto last night. Merle....hope the meet up with the birth mother went well. Tony.....keep taking the Berroca. Memories of our childhood.......wonderful. Crew....how is Mu? He's lucky he got out of the pool. He can obviously climb better than a hare. Mary....I'm glad it's you not me eating that curry. I'm a bit passed the hot, spicey food. Yvette....sounds as if you had a relaxing day. That's ok....everyone deserves one now & then. Joodles....keep the knee moving and rub Goanna oil into it. Hz.....a few months peace now that exams are over. Big congrats to yopur daughter on passing them. Gwenda....is your rash a contact dermatitis? You might need some cortisone creme from the chemist. Healing hug on it's way to you. I think it might be time for some dinner so I'll love you all and leave you for a while. Hugz Trifley X

Evening Wafflers I had a beaut time with the boys today . . . lots of talking and laughing, there was some food involved - but it was secondary to the company I was in! The Little Fluffy Duck hasn't been online this weekend, because she got arrested and thrown in the clink for having too many feathers ( or not enough in her boar maybe) . . . . teeheee I told her I would make it sound more interesting than just that she has been without her internet thanks to a mix up with Telstra when they were re organising the accounts for her. Actually . . . what could be worse than being without her internet connection . . . ????? Add to that a very sick little mut who has needed its mum to be on standby 24hrs a day and we have one very tired little Ducky who is missing her lifeline! Hopefully she will be back on deck tomorrow . . . If not Telstra better watch out !!!!!! Off to finalise our beds for next weekends shindig . . . and the Gold Coast was worried about the Schoolies . . . teeeheeee luv Laurie

Hi everone thanks for all the kind thoughts. Everything went well and I was so busy holding Mum while she sobbed on my shoulder I forgot to cry myself. Shes a lovely lady, just like her brother who we've been in touch with often and at who's place we met today. They just want us to be part of the family, think Kevin is just the Ants pants. Met granny today too. She's a bit of a tartar I believe but behaved very well today. Kevin is 43 and his mum is 60 and i'm just 70 so only 10 yewars older than Deanne is and she was only 16 when Kevin was born Kevins girls were a bit bemused to see Deanne and I sitting together. Jood I was born in a small country town called Lake Grace. I was a nurse too.And yes the stories can get a bit black at times but they are special Are'nt they. I read milly molly mandy books too and do you remember the William Books?
