10 pound pom all the way from croydon. what foresite. i'm only off to finalise my bed for this evening - after my bath. not going to let a good afternoon's sleep go to waste. big happy (((((((((((((hugs ))))))))))))))))to everyone. see you tommorrow, love Yvette ps sorry overlapped posts Merle, I loved Milly Molly Mandy. I've still got one MMM book. Fave story was when MMM went with her mother ? to the material shop to get some more fabric for a dress. Toby the dog was a a bit rough and jumped up and ripped her dress. Mum finally decides that MMM can have something else than the pink stripe( which is her signature dress fabric). When they get there, Violet is there with her gran. there's only enough of the floral for 1 dress, so guess who gets stuck with the pink stripe again.

Merle, I know Lake Grace. AND, I DID indeed read all the William books - looooooooved them. .. Could never get interested in the Biggles books tho. .. Liked Enid Blyton tho. I used to read the Girls Crystal religiously every week when I was a bit older. I think I was a bit of a tomboy - tried to be the son Dad never had (my brother died at birth, and 6 years later my sister came along). Hope all the sickies are ok - sorry poor old flucky is without her computer - thank goodness for phones and mobiles though (instead of horse and carts lol). .. I never had the phone on till my oldest daughter was 20, and I was a teenager when Mum & Dad first got their very heavy black phone (no - it wasn't a wall mounted one like an aunty had where you had to go through the exchange !) .. To you young-uns, if we wanted to call interstate, we actually had to book a call!!!! Jood

Well the Morroccan curry was different but not bad. A bit fruity as it had dates and apricots and chickpeas as well as the lanb. It was nice as it was a bit different from the normal malaysian curry OH makes. Some left over for another day of not having to cook. Tomorrow we dont have any power from 7.30 am to 3.30 pm as the light people are doing some work on the substation. I now have to get up early to boil the kettle and fill a thermos of boiling water so I can have my coffee..Might go to the Club for lunch and a bit of retail therapy wont go astray down the Mall. Merle So glad the day went well. That happened to a friend of mine and they all now enjoy a extended family which have got on well. Sleep well tonight now it is all over.. Printhess Lolly Sounds like you had a lovely day with your boys. Thanks for letting us know that the Fluffy Duck is out of jail and now waiting on the internet man.. Gosh she could be waiting till she is 90.They are not known for their fast work. Perhaps she could send up some smoke signals..no thats no good there is probably a fire ban on..I think it will have to be 2 tins and a string.. Glad to see that our Queen is in good shape..She must be because she is thinking about FOOD..good sign..lol Gwenda I think you should see a quack if that rash is still there in the morning. might need more than calomine lotion. Jood and Lew, I dont think they would let you two out on your own in the bus...I think I need to come to supervise..lol Well I better have a early night tonight so that I can get up inthe morning.. Have a nice night all and see ya in the morning..bugger no I wont I wont have any power..No puta till 3.30..bugger..unless I get in before they turn it off..NNAAA I am not much good at getting up early... Nite Nite Love Mary xxxxxxx

Ooooooh Trifley - how did you know I was reading your message on that OTHER thread lol - did you really expect me to come out of hiding and reply? ,, Amazing what I find out tho! I get the gist that you, Rebs, Flucky and Laurie are being mature aged schoolies at the Gold Coast next weekend (not sure if Anna is going tho), and that you have bought a red hat, but you wanted the wattlers to wear a yellow one .. Can you imagine our Tony in a yellow hat??? Mary, if you came on the bus too - we would really really muck up - we'd be the belles of the bus! .. Dare you to get up before 7.30 with a good morning message! SuzyQ how are you????? Merle - glad your meet went off so well - nothing to worry about after all, was there? I'm off to bed too - I'm sure everyone else has gone. Love Jood

Yeah Trifley - I knew my name would be showing on the front page, but I never look to see who is there. .. I think what Mary, Lew & I would do on a bus trip - would significantly pale at what you and your mature age schoolie friends would get up to Trifley .. ho ho ho Nite all (didn't I say that ages ago?, well blame Mary, she was being cheeky lol) Jood

Morning all, can just imagine the yellow spot whatnots Anna :) LOL ~~~~~~ to Merle. Wish I could find my cousin who was adopted out! If he is alive he would be 60 now. Since we 'discovered' him I often wonder about him, especially as there are now just the 7 of us left of his generation. I'm all Barker and Burton family'd out. Took all weekend just to get those two families +related twigs - in order! Thanks again Laurie for all your help re Burtons. Quiet day today for me. Hubby had a lovely weekend with his friends -and boats -down the coast but came home all sunburnt! catch you later. have agreat day everyone. Hope you get your connection soon Fluffy Vonny

Morning Wattlers, Just to let you know that I still alive and well. I am still watching over all the antics, but my hand is getting worse, so I am trying to rest it. It's difficult one hand typing. and slow. anyway I am going to the quack on Wednesday for some tests so I will find out what is wrong. My thumb has decided to stop working now, It's just stuck there like the proverbial 'sore thumb'. It is very quiet in here, i took up on the same page i left off yesterday. Hope everyone is well and stress free. Try to look in later Luv SuzyS

Good Morning Wattlers, I seem to have lost a weekend, all that singing on Saturday night lol............ I had to have a nanny nap yesterday afternoon, and rehydrate, feeling much better today. Love the description of the upcoming girl's 'schoolies' weekend, and all the reminiscenses. My earliest school memories were of playing 'polio' lol. I would have begun Primary in about '56 or so I guess, so the epidemic was in full swing. At recess the big kids would get the little kids to be patients, and tie our arms and legs to boards and we'd lie on the seats around the walls of the shelter-shed while they gave us 'medicine' and excercises ! One day I was left tied to a board when the bell rang and the teacher had to find me after ten minutes, I couldn't get up to go inside! I loved those ball against the chimney type games, and hopscotch, skipping with the long rope, and tunnelball practise leading up to sports day - oh and marching, and learning square dancing! Gosh it's all coming back. Did anyone else go to the Lord Mayors Camps at Portsea? SuzyQ your hand doesn't sound too good at all, what a nuisance and such a pity someone else will have to do the washing up for a few days lol. Hope it's fixed before girlies weekend! Supposed to be hot here today but high cloud at the moment preventing the temp from climbing - sultry though. Bought a bag of frozen prawns last week in readiness for Xmas, and must stock up the cupboards a bit on essentials - hate finding myself in the supermarket two days before Xmas buying toilet rolls and vegemite! Better do some work I s'pose.............~~~~~~~~~~~~~~to all, Heather

Good morning all...haven't been here for a bit as I've been busy outdoors in the garden...by the time I get online, most of you have gone to bed. Just looking in today between loads of washing to say 'hello' and do some speed reading of the threads Actually have some rain today!!!!!! Well, more of a Scotch Mist, I suppose, but still nice. Just as well it didn't happen yesterday, as there was an air race over Perth.

I saw pictures of that air show Bev on the news last night. it looked really great. Now here's another bit of trivia: Did you know that the word 'news' is made up of the first letters of the compass directions? North, East, West, South? Just thought I'd tell you that :) Vonny

Macbev

Macbev Report 20 Nov 2006 02:25

Hello Vonny...I guess it should be 'good afternoon' to you. We live about six streets back from the river, so there has been a lot of noise, not only yesterday, but earlier in the week as well as various practice runs took place. I didn't bother to go down to the river, as parking would have been impossible, although my OH went for a while on his bicycle......I just gawped from my garden as airforce jets did their stuff. Amazing what trivia surfaces from time to time.

Think I'll even venture upstairs and look in some boxes for some suitable drinking vessel . . . chances are they wont meet my standards at the inn !!! Must have a martooni glass !!! Cooled off a bit here now so off for another stint on the mower - got to wear myself out completely, if there is a slightest breeze tonight the roof is going to rattle and roll as it doesn't have any capping on it . . . it it rains . .
