Hi All, well I rang those reprobates earlier, you know the Gold Coast ones, well I'm sorry to say, 'they were sober' what a let down, so I'm having to go down there tomorrow and rectify things. can't have them letting the Wattie side down. Cheers Jillx PS. Thanks for all the well wishes and healing hugs that you sent me this week, it really does help, small thing maybe to you just to type a few words of comfort, I've done it myself, but honestly, when you read those words they mean a hell of a lot. Thanks again, Jx |

Well here I am. It's 3.30 am and not a soul about the place, lol. Breathing in all this blasted smoke has made me have a coughing fit, so now I'm sat here in front of the computer with a cup of tea. Off to do some research. ~~~Waves to All~~~ HRH Dr Lew Lew *now where did I hide those blinking anti coughing pills* |

Hi there Wattlers Have just sent Lotto numbers to Tony as didn't end up getting to newsagents until this morning.(sorry) Trust you are all well and getting ready for another hot day. My b-i-law out from UK for the Ashes won't be too pleased that the Aussies are off to such a good start. OH supports the aussies, so should be an interesting conversation between those two - currently somewhere down the south coast. Have a good weekend and catch up with you later. Have the house to myself all weekend so intend to actually sit and relax for a change (definitely no decorating this weekend) and have stocked up on tonic water for my Gin & Tonics. Lyn |

Morning Wattlers Lew I hope the smoke clears soon, good time to take a holiday to get away from it all, could make a surprise trip to Broadbeach haa haa. Oh no you've already done a surprise visit :-) I had a Hot Match yesterday that Mary knows about and I sent some info to them and I received 98 pages in Adobe with rellies :-) a lot are way off on a side branch but there was some dates and info that I didnt have, this is where I found my latest convict. I have sent another email asking if she has any info on him, and also his wife as she was only just under 14 when she married him and her first child was born just after she turned 15, it sounds young to be married and Im wondering if it was a way for George (Convict) to get his pardon to be a free man. Well must go as we have got our Chrissy parade today and Dannielle with the scouts are in it. Will catch you all later. Cheers Sue |

Good Morning everyone, Lew when you get up today I hope all the smoke has cleared, it's not pleasant and I do hope the fires are out now. We have clear skies. I have NOT gone kayaking after all (wouldn't have minded a day but didn't really want to lose my entire weekend). DD15 has headed off, there are ten of them padding down towards Howlong and Rutherglen all equipped. The extra recruits are the two UK GAP students currently at her school the strapping young lad had a lot of outdoor experience. And the teacher is a white-water fanatic. They would have gone up to the Mitta below Dartmouth but it's too hairy atm for novices - next year. Today they are practising their water safety/rescue skills and 'rolling' !! Yesterday was Grandparents Day and DD got to be in Pipe band for the first time officially all dressed up, she's on tenor drum (kettle drum?), with much rushing to and fro from the shop we managed to see the warm-up and the afternoon performance, but not the marching. But they will be playing at the Carol Service next Sunday too. OH said he had a lump in the throat moment to see her twirling her sticks! So Proud! I'm about to check out Myer for Xmas inspiration, then have the house to myself for a few hours - want to search Historical Directories for a few coffee shops in Central London c 1860. Hope the snr schoolies weekend is progressing well, have a ball girls!! ~~~~~~~~~~ to all, Hz |

Well I hope all you Victorians voted today.. and put the right party in..not sure what one that is but anyone that locks up all the forests from prospectors would not get my vote.and the last one was trying its best to do that. They have a very greenie green lady and she thinks she owns the bbb forests. They have been looked aftr by a lot of different paople for hundreds of years and they look fantastic but this woman seems to think they were like that all by themselves.. DONT GET ME STARTED.... Tony Your seafood lunch sounds fantastic and I am sure I will be in Melbun then so is there enough for me..(just kidding) got ys worried I bet,,lol Love to all the delinquants and hope you are not behaving yourselves... Wow, look at those feathers and tararaboomdeeeay’s!! Gals you look frabjous!! Good luck with the Casino tonight ladies, have a lovely time. Hi Lara, well you sure got plenty done today, put me to shame. OH and I have had a tour of vegie garden and I dug a few little spuds and steamed them with parsely and butter to go alongside lasagne and salad for tea. They were so delicious. Now he’s hit the hay ( 1 am start tomorrow) and I am ignoring the news and going right back to London. Lara I’m using www(.)historicaldirectories(.)org to track who’s living at some certain addresses over a number of years. It has local and trade directories for UK from 1750 to 1919. For example, my mum thought her parents moved to Ealing from Chobham in 1902 right after they were married, but I have discovered that grandpa was not a resident at that address until 1911. And with the coffee shop thing, I have a rellie who married into a family where the same coffee shop is in various different family members names from 1851 to 1881. This address is currently a pub in Whitechapel called the Nag’s Head, and it has a strip joint inside LOL. So for a certain address, I not only have Census info but also Trade Directory listings for some intervening years. I’m hoping I can get some photos eventually. I dug a bit deeper into this particular family because I made contact with a descendent (he says we’re 3rd cuz’s once removed), plus, the area is very close to Dickens London (tho’ he wrote about the 1820’s 30’s and 40’s) and Jack the Ripper territory (1880’s),and so it has sparked my interest. Hi Mary, what are you and John up to tonight? I am avoiding the teev because it’s all boring election stuff and I’m going to get up in a minute and feed the cat, bring in some washing and then go back to FH – what bliss. Have a very lovely evening everybody, ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hz |
