Sneaks in and marvels at the Chrissy decos ... ah lovely !! Now lets see what is missing from my special memory box . . Need some stone fruit, plums, apricots, peaches, nectarines and cherries . . . Oh and some watermelon ! White Christmas, Apricot and Rum balls. Mums special laced Chrissy cake (nearest I have ever tasted to it was Rebs cake last weekend) Aunty Jennies Pud in a cloth - . . and Nuts !! Lots of nuts - no not the Wattler variety, big hard shells that have to be crushed to find the good stuff . . Hangs a few Gumnut baby decos on the brances of the tree, and a few sprigs of Wattle now a little song . . . . Not an Aussie one . . . but sure sounds Wattler to me . . . Grandma got run over by a reindeer. Walking home from our house Christmas eve. You can say there's no such thing as Santa, but as for me and grandpa we believe. She'd been drinking too much eggnog, and we begged her not to go. But she forgot her medication, and she staggered out the door into the snow. When we found her Christmas morning, at the scene of the attack, she had hoof-prints on her forehead, and incriminating Claus marks on her back. Now we're all so proud of grandpa, He's been taking this so well. See him in there watching football, drinking root beer and playing cards with Cousin Mel. It's not Christmas without Grandma, All the family's dressed in black and we just can't help but wonder: Should we open up her gifts, or send them back? Send them back!! Now the goose is on the table and the pudding made of fig and the blue and silver candles that would just have matched the hair on grandma's wig. I've warned all my friends and neighbors better watch out for yourselves, they should never give a license to a man who drives a sleigh and plays with elves. Top up in the martooni glass please . . . luv Tinthel Pritheth |

Before I wander off and finish lighting this house up, thought I would add my contribution to the christmas dittys, although mine is stolen from my grandchildrens chrissy tales SNOWFLAKES Did you know, That every little flake of snow That forms so high In the winter sky And falls so far Is a bright, six-pointed star? Each crystal grows A flower, as perfect as a rose. Lace could never make The patterns of a flake. No brooch, of Figured silver could approach Its delicate craftsmandship. And think: Each pattern is distinct Of all the snowflakes floating there - The million million in the air- None is the same, Each star Is newly forged, as faces are Shaped to its own design Like Yours .. and mine And yet.. each one Melts when its flight is done, Holds frozen loveliness A moment, even less; Suspends itself in time- And passes like a rhyme. |

Morning all And a beautiful day it is for the first day of summer. I just got a phone call from the pacemaker clinic to see if I could come in earlier for my appointment today so as I didnt have much to do and I've already had shower and got dressed so it was not a prob. I loved the poems and songs so I thought while we was in the mood I might add a couple more. Santa’s gonna come on a surfboard Well, I’ve been sorta worried About Santa Claus this year ‘cause we live way down south and it doesn’t really snow down here Well, I’m a tellin’ you not to worry ‘cause I just got the word everybody listen close and I’ll tell you what I heard Santa’s comin’ on a surfboard Instead of his trusty sleigh He’ll have a jet ski instead of reindeer Towin’ him through the waves ‘cause the weatherman had some problems he couldn’t get snow you see Santa’s comin’ on a surfboard When he visits you and me Well Santa cant bring his reindeer He’ll leave them far away But don’t you worry ‘bout him He’s gonna be here Christmas Day He’s got a big red surfboard With jingle bells and all There’s gonna be a Merry Christmas Merry Christmas to all And one especially to Rudee as it looks like he is back to being the only male on here Get your gear off Christmas lunch is done Let’s go out in the sun Get your gear off, put your togs on, grab your girl Got socks from aunty Maude Jocks from Uncle Claude Get your gear off, put your togs on, grab your girl Chorus Get your gear off, put your togs on Grab your girl and crack a coldie down the beach Get your gear off, put your togs on Grab your girl and crack a coldie down the beach Beer gets hot in kegs Sandflies bite your legs Get your gear off, put your togs on, Grab your girl Slip, slop and slap Or Santa wont come back Get your gear off put your togs on grab your girl You’ve had your Christmas chook Don’t be a sook Get your gear off put your togs on grab your girl ‘cause late in the arvie We’ll light up the barbie Get your gear off grab your girl Now I bet when you all saw the title you wonder what I was gonna say haaa haaa Have a great day today and a better one tomorrow. Cheers to all Sue |
