Good morning All Well we have a cloudy day today and have already had a couple of little showers, nothing to speak of though. I is going to warm up to 28 deg for Saturday, the day we have got our Chrissy Luncheon, pity Santa dressed up in his suit and all, glad its not me haa haa. Tamika's glands are up again, so it is off to the doc again today, which there was something thay can do instead of just antibiotics, seems like the tablets get rid of the inflamation for it to return a month or so later. When I was up at Mum and Dad's yesterday they mentioned that the program Dad was on to trial new heart drugs, had been cancelled, they had to go to the hospital and for him to be taken off the drug he was using straight away and be put back on Lipitor. I mentioned this to OH last night when he got home from work and he said he had heard a news report where where too many deaths from participants using the drugs, it is also in the paper today. they didnt mention that part of it. It really makes you sit back and count your blessing that Dad could have been one of the unlucky ones. I know they have to trial new medications, but at what cost?? Ok Im going to have to get off here and do some of the dreaded .......... as we have a big weekend here with a couple staying for our Chrissy Luncheon. Be popping back on my breaks. Cheers Sue |

Morning all. Another nice day.. Are we still waiting waiting Tony.. Hope Lew enjoyed the cricket yesterday,, it was so exciting.. Jood, Remember me telling you aboutthe g/father who changed his name, and me finding a connection who was researching the first name ,,,well we are connected and he was at a standstill on that name as he couldnt find the family under his name and didnt know about the father changing the surname, He is amazed and has given me info on the side of the family he is on and I have been able to fill him in on my side. Crazy hobbie this,, nearly as crazy as the ancestors we have..I still want to know why he changed his name after his first wife died and before he married his second wife.. Well off to have a shower,, May do some retail thereapy today so see ya later Love Mary xxxxxx |

I saw that report last night Tassie, also. They said there were only 2 deaths in Aust - one in the control group and one in the medicine group, and that was normally expected. But in the States, the death rate has been quite high in the medicine group and much lower in the control group. I'm glad your dad is ok. Mmmmmm raspberries. Our loganberries are ripe at the moment. Sluuuurp, slurp. :) out today - catch you tonight Vonny |

Back again - half my precious day gone already and just home. .. I was thinking girls, those of you who can meet me in Bendigo - even tho its not till some time in January, can you throw around a few dates (not the weekend)??? .. Wilson, Judes 2 & 3 plus Lara and perhaps JA?????? Plus anyone else who wants the fly/drive in .. pmsl. .. Anytime from 22 - 26 Jan I'm ready willing and able. (hee hee). Am suggesting same place if that's ok - unless anyone has some easier places to find without me getting lost. Mary you have had quite a bit of luck with your brick walls lately - isn't it about MY turn? :(( Jood |

Hi everyone, Not so smokey here today but heard that Mt Buffalo National Park is closed because of fires. I guess the same country can’t burn twice this summer. Donna all the very best for your surgery, let the others do the chores you can be royalty (others do it I believe, lol) and just give kindly orders !! Suzy and Vonny, all your talk of berries has reminded me to try to get to the berry farm at Stanley near Beechworth soon – it’s a yummy yummy day out to go and pick your own, all kinds of berries plus apricots, plums etc, I must watch out for the ads in the local paper. Jood keep me posted about Bendigo in late January as I may be able to get there!! Tomorrow is Speech Day for DD15, then she’s free for the summer. I’ve put her back on laundry duty! Will pop in later to see if the baby's arrived eh Tony ! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Heather |

Hi All, The best bit about summer is the stone fruit peaches, nectarines, mangos etc., oh and the grapes, how could I forget the grapes, yummy Best Wishes of the Season to you and your family Donna, fingers crossed all goes well with your shoulder. Well I didn't buy anything at the auction, bit of a disappointment really, what were there were badly scratched too scratched to give as a present so I didn't bother. So my girlfriend and I went out for lunch, only thing to do really, lol. luv Jillx |

Tony, a question for you, oh wise one, how could I find out if a person emigrated to N Z anytime from 1914 to, say 1920. There's just a chance my gdad left Ireland during that period. Thanks Jillx |

Good evening Wattlers, Just checking in as we await the arrival of Amanda (young friend from Brissie) . . . TLR has the BBQ ready to go when she arrives. I was talking to the Great Queen Trifley today, poor love has had her head in the bucket since Monday, but starting to improve. Had to have a maxalon injection yesterday. Actually, its nothing to do with the kemo . . . more the fact that the coffee machine has been away being serviced . . teeheee, but its back now - so she will be up and at 'em in no time , , , PMSLing. It was a lovely sunny day on the Bay, till the wind started up about 5pm, hopefully we will be able to eat out there tonight. Looking forward to seeing those that are able to be here for lunch tomorrow . . . . Sending you heaps of good wishes Donna, and ((hugs)) Amanda is here . . . Dinner is about to be cooked Luv Laurie |

Trifley hope you are up and about soon, get the coffee into you and you will be better :-)))) ((((hugs)))) Cheers Sue |

Evening Peeps..:>))) Cooler night to-night in Melbin, so lit the Barbie and threw a few chops on. Also some chicken and Beef satay sticks. Sarah made up a nice Potato salad. It was her first try at it, and didnt do a bad job, so she is now the official Potato Salad maker. Jillaroo. Not going to find much in the way of passenger list after 1900 for New Zealand. The best link i know, is this one ( below ) and you may or may not be lucky. It does show some passenger lists after 1900 but most passenger lists for NZ ( on the net ) are pre 1900s remove ( ) http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb(.)com/~nzbound/lists.htm or http://library.christchurch.org.nz/FamilyHistory/PassengerLists/WhichPort/ You could also try cyndislist for NZ. http://www.cyndislist(.)com/austnz.htm Best wishes to all the sickies. Hello my lovelies Oh - busy, busy, busy. Took Katherine shopping today so have done over all the fashion outlets and eventaully come away with 2 pairs of shorts and a new t-shirt! (for Katherine - not me!) Two items from Target and one from Jay Jays so didn't break the bank fortunately. She's quite sensible - won't buy anything from City Beach as she says it's way overpriced for what you get. Good sensible girl that she is! Good news --- tank man came today and our tank will definitely be connected on Friday - so then let it rain, let it rain, let it rain! Door bell was finally fixed also so now we just have the treadmill and the turntable for playing our old 33 records to go. It was 5 weeks ago today since the power surge came through so it has certainly been a saga! Hope you have a lovely party on the balcoony Laurie and Co. We want pickles please! I wonder which Aussie cricketer Lew Lew has smuggled out in her handbag!! Probably Warnie would have been keen to go but I'm sure our Lew would have higher standards! Whatever - he's a very good bowler and has no doubt bowled many maidens over in his time - oops! I meant maiden overs....... Donna - thinking of you and sending positive thoughts for your op. It will be lovely to have a pain free Christmas. Our dear Queen - I suspected you may have been under the weather but didn't want to bother you if you were feeling poorly. Sending lots of BIG hugs your way ((((((HUGS))))))))) Hope you're much better by tomorrow. Lots of caramel lattes will do the trick. Tassy - I can see from here how swoosh you look! Hope the weekend goes beautifully and hope Tamika is feeling better by then. Hope it's not glandular fever as that hangs on for such a long time. Not much more news from my neck of the woods. Have a lovely evening everyone X Anna PS - Wonder how the Fluffy Duck is getting on - she musn't be near a puter or we would have had a progress report from her. Big waves to our Duckers. |

Just heard Bracksie talking about the weekend coming up, they are really preparing for the worst. The NorthEast burned through to the coast in 1939. I see everyone is blinging up for the weekends festivities, how gorgeous you all are lol. Hope you all have a good old gabfest with lots of laughs, Mwah to all, Heather |
