Good morning Waffling Wattlers. . . thought I had better get in before the afternoon invades the day. The Gutter party last night was a lot of fun, thanks to Shaz & Rob for inviting us. We had a feast, good cooker Aunty Shaz . . . and Lyn too . . . Lara went home with a little box of Greek sweets for Mike, to compensate for the fact I forgot to get him some of the best French Vanilla Slice in existance. The light display out Shaz's way is unbelievable . . . Shaz has an amazing collection of christmas ornaments and decos . . . wouldn't like to be storing them for 11 months of the year. Shaz led us on a trek through the neighbourhood to check out the displays, lost poor Lyn there for a while . . . but I think all accounted for in the end. We sort of took over the gutter - and the path - and the park - and the road . . in fact the neighbourhood . . . teeheee Not much sleep around last night . . . TLR had something wrong with his mouth there for a while he just kept looking at me like he was in pain and this strange sound was coming forth sounded like ssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. teeheee He dinny like my singing me thinks !! Up at 4.45 to get Lara to the airport for her 6.15am flight - back to bed and no contact with day again till after 9am. Leisurely brunch on the balcoonie . . . and now just an ease thru the day until its time to take the Ducky to the airport at about noon. (woops thats only an hour away) Not really happy with the Ducky going home like she is . . . very chesty, not getting a whole lot of oxygen! But you cana keep a good Wattler down as the old saying goes!!! No rest for me this arvo . . . have to do a bit of a h/wk and get all the little things up out of the way before Mag & the two little boys arrive tomorrow (friends from Jakarta) Glad you all had a good time in Canberra yesterday - thanks for the pickle Von . . . that was lovely that you got two generations of my family . . can't wait to meet them myself. Well best go see if I can help the Ducky . . . think I'm needed to sit on the poor overflowing case !! teehee Hope the smoke (and of course the fires) disappear, Lara has sms'd that it is very heavy smoke on the drive to Yarrawonga from Melbourne. Catchya Later luv Laurie

Goooooood Morning...:>))) Nuther hottie down in Melbum. Laurie. Thanks for the piccies mate. Lots of happy smiling faces, and good fun by all. Its truly amazing to see such freindships growing between a great bunch of people from all over the country.Just looking at the photo's one would think that we have known each other for years, and some of us have never met. Shazz. Your chrissy lights and decorations look great, and what a fantastic window display. Sarah and i took off for the local Scout hall to buy our christmas tree this morning, and purchased a nice shaped 7ft Pine tree. Sarah and mum are decorating it today. We have always had a pine tree, and buy ours at about this time of the month, as they dont last long in the hot weather.Apart from them dropping pine needles all over the place, we like the smell of the pine. Off to visit new grandie ( Jack ) this arvo, as daughter and hubbie arrived home yesterday. Have a great day everyone, and best wishes to all who are under the weather. catcha ron. Rudes.......praying for rain.

well its 'after noon' and the wind is picking up a little, but I havn't been outside to test the temperature, I'm just hoping everyone down south is doing the right thing and leaving to a safe place if necessary, or well prepared. It's pretty nervewracking. Hope Lara gets home safely - it's not so smokey up here as it has been and y'wonga will be fairly good. I am going on ancestry to keep my mind occupied! ~~~~~~ Hz

Hi Pips So glad you popped in to the Wattle Club. We don't mind you shouting. I'm just glad that you are able to read the boards when you magnify it. We are a friendly lot of Aussies and anything you want to know about Oz - just ask and we'll do our best to help you. Where do your cousins live in Australia? I have a relative that I am trying to chase in Taunton Somerset circa 1828. He seems to have been a bit of a bounder and ended up marrying my great grandmother in Wales! (I think he had 2 wives before that!) Cheers Anna PS Wattlers - Pip's taste in music runs to Meatloaf and Queen - we have a real groover joining us!
