Hi all Finally convinced the good Dr (not Dr Lew, but Dr Mel - Dr Lew now has competition) that I had been to a Chrissy party and had eaten there and was not really hungry when I came home. Good on ya Jood. You've got everybody sorted. Oooh Duckers - methinks you may be in need of some of Dr. Lew's medication in the morning. Glad you are partying - but do have pity on Mel's fantastic plastic. That naughty Queen has been over yonder saying she is feeling fine - but she hasn't graced us with her royal presence here. So glad our Queen is feeling OK. I wonder how Laurie is travelling - welcome home Princeth Lolly in advance. SuzyQ - who is Molly ..........????? And shame shame shame for eating a poor defenceless little duckling. Merle - glad you've got the new puter working and that your visit today went so well. Tass - that is madness letting those kids out in the sun so long without protection. Poor kid - I hope she is not too sore tomorrow. I can remember having blisters on my shoulders when I was a teenager and it really hurts. I've just had some of my sun spots on my arms zapped - I look like I've got some horrible disease. I'm putting lashings of Vitamin E cream on them hoping they may heal a bit quicker. I hope you get the chance to walk to Wineglass Bay - we would have if it hadn't been for Katherine. She didn't want to walk so far. It is so beautiful. Hope the fires subside before then. Fanny - you put me to shame with all your fine cuisine. I'm a really boring cook - have a repetoire of a few favourites and flog them to death. I'm a bit wary of all these new fangled ingredients - I should do a few cooking classes to give me more confidence. When I look at a new recipe and it has strange things in it I think - good grief, I don't know what to do with that - and go back to one of my old faithfuls. Best go to bed - I've already slept for a good hour in front of the telly. It was really boring but I was too lazy to get out of the chair! Night night everyone. X Anna

Their cattle are all over the front lawn and have trampled the hell out of the mother's rose-beds. The swans invaded the living-room in a sneak attack and the ensuing battle between them and the calling birds, turtle doves, French hens and partridge make the Battle of the Somme seem like Wanderly Wagon. The mother is on a bottle of whiskey a day, as well as the sixty grains of Valium. I'm very annoyed with you. Gobnait

Morning all... looks nice outside so lots to do today in preparation to going to Orange tomorrow. Another 4hour drive.through the mountains. Jood how do you cope with all the speed changes,in the Mountains, and in school hours the constant change of speed for the school zones. I think every shcool in the Blue Mountains is on the highway, and abour 5km apart. Drives me crazy and we always leave home after school zone times are over. How many bottles have you brought up fromthe garage,,and better still how many have you drunk... Hope all te sickies are getting better and hugs for those that arnt.. Mary, sigh ................... I forgot the wine again. .. Because my sister had been out to a xmas lunch, bil and I were going to a sort of eatery (like the food centres in the big shopping malls) - to have a quick roast. .. When we got there, the place was deserted. .. Couldnt believe they had shut down for xmas - what I would have thought was their busiest time. .. So we came home, and sister cooked us a steak which we made into a hambuggar. .. (Nice, too) .. Actually I don't know that I'd enjoy the wine all on my own with them drinking hot water and coke, but new years eve, come what may, I am having some pink sparkling wine. .. I noticed another wattler was partaking of pink wine - who was it, and what brand was it - any good??? Mary, the diff speeds dont worry me, I just slow down a little bit. .. Its not as though the kids would be running on the highway, and I dont think there are any crosswalks. ... When you go through the lights at Springwood, I am just to the left on the other side of the railway line. .. You could wave to my house on the way through! .. When I lived at Mosman, we used to stop somewhere in the mountains for morning tea (not knowing Iwas going to eventually be living there!) .. Safe travelling. .. I sent Laurie an email to wish her safe travelling two days ago, but never heard back - so don't know if she received it or not. Yes, I saw the message from Trifley on the other thread. .. Jood I hope the hot water and the coke are not mixed together..lol,,yuk..Dont care for either..Go get that bottle and start enjoying a drink with dinner..If you want a really nice sparkling red for Christmas go for a sparkling sharaz, quite yummy, and my favourite drop,, I dont think there are many school lights on the hiway but that dosent make any difference,, as you pass any school you have to slow down to 40km and then its back up to 60, or 70 , or 80, and then back down to 40 for the next school....bonkers,,, princeth Laurie You should be home by now so just because you cant telll how many giraffs are working today is no reason not to post..lol,, but then she may have been sensible and taken another day to get there due to the nasty weather. Mary - reds don't like me, I normally have a chardonnay, but we had this lovely pink storberry infused wine at Laurie's place courtesy of Lyn, and I've been looking for it everywhere. .. No luck so far, might have to settle for a similar one called 'Pink' Hot water doesn't do a thing for me either. .. I don't mind coke now and again, tho it makes me burp a lot ! Jood

Morning all ~~~~~~~~ 'My get up and go' seems to have 'got up and went' this week! I just can't get enthusiastic about Christmas. And I still haven't tackled the house. I think I will have to write myself a program for the day and just stick to it. Jood, I'm not sure what piccy's you mean but it is accademic anyway, as my printer seems to have a mind of it's own these days :) Sometimes it prints, sometimes it won't. Morning Wattlers, Jood - I'm off to look for that strawberry wine today - armed with piccle. Woolies & Coles don't have it cos I've already checked there so will check out the other liquor outlet at Woden and see if I'm lucky. Already have a bottle of Pink for justin case. Now while we're talking wine Jood - off ya go down to fetch a coupla bottles before ya forgets again Vonny - hope your 'get up and go' will be back soon - don't think anyone will notice things not done - so long as they get fed at the right time is all that matters - well my 2 only think of their stomachs most of the time - lol Here's my recipe for Fruit Slushy should anyone want something refreshing over the 'hot' summer we're having - not in Canberra tho - pppppp 3 cups water 1 cup sugar 3 cups orange juice 1-1/2 cups pineapple juice 1-1/2 cups apricot juice 1-1/2 cups vodka Place water and sugar in pan, stir over low heat until sugar is dissolved. Bring to the boil, boil rapidly, without stirring, 2 minutes; cool. Combine juices with vodka and sugar syrup. Pour mixture into 2 large cake pans; store in freezer. (I freeze it in the saucepan I've made it in but up to you) To serve, three-quarters fill a glass with slush, top with soft drink. Makes about 2-1/2 litres. Off to work for lunch today - bad planning on my part that I'm not working but I can sit and graze for as long as I want cos it's late night shopping so I could stay til midnight - but I won't cos family couldn't cope having to fend for themselves. Vonny I thought my get up and go was bad but you seem to be in the same boat..just looking forward to some quiet time in the new year. after the next doctors visit on 4th jan..Will start planning a holiday then and hope we make it. hi wattlers, my friend has given me now a 2nd bottle of french rose which is extremely yummy, Rose D Anjou - 2004. no nasty head involved in this stuff. Theres also a strawberry fizz called fresito, from peru or somewhere. they sell it in 4 packs as well as the 750 ml. I can't get the hw done either, but the family and cousins have cleaned up the first batch of coconut ice. managed to wake up on time this morning to see what it was like working from 6. - different, i can see a bit of weight loss happening. Gee some peeps are keen. i'd be knackered all day if i was the victim of personal training so early. The kids rang my mum today, I haven't spoken to her for about 3-4 years, I was really happy that she sent her love to me. ( we had a very nasty falling out which i thought we would never recover from). I think that Ellis will visit her soon, which is even nicer. hugs and smooches to the travellers, the 'feeling ills' and get your butt into gear for those (like me) with no excuse. love Yvette x

Morning all Anna, no I don't need any of Dr Lew's little pills this morning. I feel fine although a little tired. Jood, Mel and I were drinking the pink sparkley wine last night. The one we had was called 'Fresita' a Chilean sparkling wine with natural storburys. Another one we like is Lindauer Fraise (Lindauer and storbury). I have bought these bottles from Liquorland which is owned by Coles. Both yummy ! Gwenda, thanks for the recipe, sounds good, must try it over Chrissy. Morning Wattlers, Another nice day in south east Qld. Not too hot, a great change from the last few Christmas's. Gwenda, I am so sorry to hear about 3C. I do hope that you are wrong, these non people who harm animals often go on to harm our species. How dare they thing they are the only ones allowed to inhabit the earth? The Molly that I was refering to was Molly Meldrum. He lost his dog Ziggy on Tuesday evening aften his walk in the park. Anyway, it turned up in the animal shelter so there was a happy but tearful reunion. Had to laugh, Molly , like our Queen loves all thing Egyptian, and his cats are called Tut and Nef., both rescue cats. Can't be much wrong with Molly in my book. Ducky, glad you are enjoying you time with Mel. I couldn't possibly sit down and eat one of my chooks, it would be like eating a friend. LOL Merle, I hope that leg gets better soon please take care. Afternoon All, Well i have at last started my few days off, lucky to get Christmas off this year. I did work Christmans day last year, so figured it must be my turn. Started the Christmas puddings this morning. Last year, the fuse blew and wrecked the pudding. So this year i have put a radio going flat out on the same power point so that if it goes off at least i might have a chance to save the pud. Bit annoying though, and i am sure the nieghbours will be glad when the boiling is over lol. Hope everyone is well and happy, i havn't read back to many pages, so not sure what has been going on in wattleland. i don't seem to have been able to get time for the computer lately. And absolutely no time for family history, i am starting to get the twitches, so must be time to get back at it he he. Loved the Christmass tree Rudes, but like everyone else think you could have at least put yourself in there somewhere. Hi everyone, I've been keeping up with the chat but haven't had time to post. Took the gkids home lunchtime after two fun filled days, wet 'n wild was such fun but I must have pulled a muscle in my back on one of the rides, correction the only ride I went on, cause I can barely bend at the moment serves me right for behaving like a kid,lol. Had about 6 things cut out of her the other day and has to go and get some of the stitches out early tomorrow and will also get some results from the biopsys.
