Honey I'm Home . . . and I really mean HOME !!!! Haven't had a chance to read back and catch up with what you have been doing since I left Sydney . . . will do so later when I have unpacked everything. Had an eventful trip . . . yesterday I nearly drowned in the downpour at Tuncurry, poor old umbrella had to go to the rubbish! They aren't much good when they are turned inside out. Today was 'Old Farts' day on the road . . . you know the ones that do 80 along the highway untill you get to a passing lane when they do 110 so you can't pass them. But finished the day off nicely with a cup of coffee with the Queen at Coffee Club while she was waiting for the young prince to finish work. I want to take this opportunity to wish one and all a wonderful Christmas, and health and prosperity for 2007. Thank you all for being part of my life, you are all very special people. TLR & I are truely blessed to have you as our friends. Best go hang up some clothes and make the bed . . catch you all later . . . Safe travels to those heading out on the roads, luv Laurie |

Good evening all Tony aka Rudes and Barcode Barb we are truly grateful for the priveliege of your expertise, friendship and sense of humour , poet writing and song writing that you bring to the thread I am sure I speak for all the Wattlers when I say we luvs ya and wish you Barb and the family all the very best for Chirstmas and the 2007, And I want to say there have been times throughout the year when I have been down but by just coming and reading all the the posts was enough to say to myself ' Ok get on with it your troubles are few' we have been so very lucky with our Wattlers there is not a nasty pasty amongst us we take each other as we come although we are all from different backgrounds. Yes we do have the common bond of FH to help bind it all together, but the sense of humour, the braveness and the sheer joy of some of the Wattlers on this thread never ceases to amaze me and I am so grateful for the meet that was arranged to welcome Ann to Australia the inuagural Wattlers meet as it turned out to be because otherwise I would never have met such a crazy gorgeous bunch of people thanks to all of you and Merry Christmas and a very Happy and Healthy New Year to all of You Love Lara PS just listening to Damien the Idol winner and he is singing the winners song 'You were there when I had the night of my life and that's exactly how I feel about all of you , you have been there every day that has been good for me this last year . |

Hi all, Jill don’t forget to let me know if you can buy that storberry wine, and if so, where. Mary, tried Mateuse (and Rhinegold, remember that?????) – when I was just 15-16 with some naughty girls at work lol. .. If I can’t find the storberry wine I’m after, I’ll buy PINK which is plentiful. .. Speaking of wine, my nieces hubby, who also doesn’t drink  asked me if I liked wine and I said yes, so he gave me a bottle of Goundrey 2005 Unwooded Chardonnay he'd received as a gift for Xmas. .. Sister won’t let me put it in her kitchen fridge, and bil wants to give it to a mate for xmas, I said NO. .. Sister (who is 6 years younger than me by the way) has graciously allowed me to have the Chardonnay for xmas and the pink stuff for new year – woohoooo. .. I’ll hide the chardonnay in my bedroom till the day before xmas, and will then sneak it in the garage fridge to get cold. .. Dreadful way to live isn’t it .. hahaha Fluffy have noted the two wines you tried, thank you. .. Speaking of your name, I used to drink Fluffy Ducks when I was a young-un too, I’m sure that’s what they were called, must have had a lot of fluffy egg or something in them. Fanny, soooo glad the kids were in touch with your Mum – fingers crossed, all will be resolved soon. Nah, Suzy, I would never be a TT – I just haven’t had the chance to indulge in much drinking over the past years, as I’ve always had to drive myself home. .. It doesn’t really bother me either way, but given the chance, with company, and not having to drive, I would play up a little. Anna, noted your Shiraz suggestion also Jude DIY took you off my WATTLER list, but please remind me when you come home. No Mary, still no wine tonight – gee tea is over in one minute and then bil is up from the table clearing it and washing down plates for the dishwasher! .. I believe I am allowed to have some wine on xmas day. Getting into the spirit - (well, a mug of hot milk) - I'd also like to thank all the Wattlers for letting me be part of you. .. Tony, I don't know what we'd do without you, you are an inspiration and so very talented in so many ways. .. You others, we have laughed and cried with you, hugged, comforted, and joked with, and been an essential daily part of my life. .. For that I salute you, and to those I have not yet met, I hope to catch up with in Mudgee 2007. Glad you arrived safely Laurie Love to all Jood |

Day Nine Listen you louser ! There's enough pandemonium in this place night and day without nine drummers drumming, while the eight flaming maids-a-milking are beating my poor, old alcoholic mother out of her own kitchen and gobbling everything in sight. I'm warning you, you're making an enemy of me. Gobnait |

Good Morning We had to start work at 6.30am this morning - I must be related to garfield - I'm not fond of early mornings - ones that involve work anyway. In case this place gets manic later on- which is on the cards- I would just like to say...... Ken, I and our family would like to send our love and best wishes to you all for a very happy christmas and a prosperous New Year.Thank you all so much for just being here ,a very wonderful, caring friendly lot who always have time for a chat & support each other in the ups and the downs.I'm especially thankful I found you wonderful peeps - or maybe you found me (or an unknown force directed me- those that have passed on at work again). Please take extra special care if you are on highways and byways over christmas . David and Jon especially thank you 'cause the way they look at it they don't have to listen to me rattle on about dead peeps - they figure its your job! lol - (its our secret - okay - don't tell em we really don't talk about deadies! - well not all the time.) Ken and I are looking forward to catching up with Jood at the bendigo mini meet in January and then with everyone else at Mudgee in Feb. He is normally a bit quiet around peeps he doesn't know - but you wonderful lot certainly get him talking at the meets. Tony loved the poem - always makes me a bit weepy - but certainly makes me remember lots of peeps who have passed through our lives for whatever the reason. Thank you. We have heard from kirsty and chris and they are staying in Margaret River for a while - we were all hoping they were going to be in Melbourne for Christmas -we haven't had a family christmas together for 8 years. So we are all very disappointed it wont be happening again. My Mum and Dad , Sister , BIL, niece, nephew and us 4 will be spending the christmas eve and christmas together - hope it all goes smoothly - my dad likes nothing more than a good argument ( pity the rest of us don't) so we have all made a pact not to let him stir us this year - lol. I'll let you know if it was successful. Dad still insists on the full english christmas dinner bit, at least this year its not supposed to be a hot day. Maybe I could start him off with a gwenda slushy to wash down an entree of fanciful rice paper rolls,a couple of martoonies, joods storberry wine , a dessert of coconut ice and flakeys baileys and he will be so sloshed he will sleep for the day/night pmsl. (not nice jude - smacks hand) - his is lubberly really. Well have to go - hopefully be back later - only taken me 1 1/2 hrs to get this written. xx jude diy |

Good morning Wattlers from lovely rain drenched Cedar Grove. Not heavy, just lovely soaking stuff for which those plants and trees that have survived are truely thankful. Got woken this morning at 5.15am by a noisy band of unwelcome immigrants . . . the minor birds have decided that seeing as how we dont use it very often the rather like the verandah and dont mind a good sing-a-long early hours of the morning. Must be the new roof . . . ! And the frogs . . . but I love the sound of them. TLR's flight gets in at 7.35pm, so I have the day to do a bit of a clean up and get the Chrissy decos up - Oh and I suppose I should get some food into the pantry too . . . Obviously we haven't had a lot of rain since I was home last - plants looking like they have struggled a bit, and lawn only just due for a mow, was dreading the thought of knee high grass, but it's not too bad at all. TLR was telling me last night that Singapore has had lots of rain recently, been lots of massive downpours, in one session they had 366ml in 10 hours - he got caught in a storm yesterday while out shopping in China Town, said it didn't cool the place down as the water felt hot. Silly blighter was going out to eat Chilli Crab, at our favourite restraunt - just because he could!!! Well I started this some time ago - and ended up digging the decos out . . . 'Deck the house with twigs of holly . . . ' I really an the Tinthel Printheth this morning . . . lovely to find the treasured chrissy ornaments. Will send this on its way now to the sound of christmas as the stereo blasts away Merry Christmas all . . . luv Laurie |

morning all, have now come to the realisation that i shouldn't be sitting on my behind enjoying the day. need dog medication, zipper and a couple of other bits. thank goodness i missed the valium brigade when i went shopping yesterday. it was soo quiet . need to do some sewing. those mynas are a pain but they are not game to land in the yard. the willie wagtails, peewees and honey eaters have claimed it as theirs. however they do sit on my bedroom chimney and carry on down the hole at me. have a happy day everyone. love Yvette x |

G'day to you wonderful Wattlers I haven't been on for a couple of days as the last lot of Kemo has made me a bit tired. I spent most of yesterday snoozeing except when I went in to Pac Fair to pick up the young prince. Parking in the complex is banned for staff over this week and the nearest is a bit of a hike so I've been taking him in and picking him up. It did give me the chance to have coffee with Princess L'oz yesterday......she turned up wearing a Christmas hat with 'Princess' on the front....pmsl. A wonderful example of the maddness of the wattler peeps. We also have some rain here on the GC. Gentle, soaking water from the gods to quench the thirst of my poor plants. I hope it moves on to those areas in special need. I'd like to add my thanks to all of you great people who have bought so much fun, joy and support to my life this year. As you all know I've been a bit unwell at times and when I needed support and love.....there you all were! My family is fantastic but you lot have made it easier on us during the hard times. Thank you for the email's, calls, flowers, visits and most of all.....the genuine friendship. I am sooooo looking forward to Mudgee! To all those traveling....have a safe trip. To those visiting rels....I hope you have a great time. To all those staying at home....have a very Merry Christmas. I'll be thinking of you all on Monday. Time for some coffee to keep me awake. Mopped my tears, Just had a brain storm, some might say 'didn't know she had a brain' I'm only blonde 'cause I choose too be lol, Right, back to the storm. Why don't we make Tony the prince Regent, Trifley you can dub him at the Mudgee meet, (norty! to anyone with suss thoughts there) give him the one two across both shoulders and the deed is done, instead of a common old Earl he becomes a prince in waiting.pmsl. no jokes please about what he may be waiting for lol. oh go on then. cheers Jillx |
