Evening all We have had lovely rain all day - 35 mls in the rain guage last time I looked. Plants are loving it - especially the new ones I put in on Tuesday. And the tank is full! Mary - sorry you aren't able to come to Mudgee but if they can help John with his pain that has to take priority. We'll meet again - don't know where, don't know when, but I know we'll meet again some sunny day. Darling daughter has just started at the McGregor summer school at our local uni - 2 weeks of music making and they've made her lead flute in the flute choir so she is quite chuffed! It's full on every day culminating in a huge concert for the public on Friday 12 January. 150 music students attending and there are others doing visual arts, drama, music theatre etc. 500 people attending altogether from all over Australia. It's a huge annual event here. Good luck with your long johns etc Lew! Don'tcha love the latest addition to the Royal Palace - the young Prince has chosen very well. All very regal I must say. Are you home Laurie - I think it was today you were returning so hope the weather hasn't been too bad for your trip. Yvette - glad the new job is going well. I'd best do a bit of rolling around on a fit ball myself after the Christmas excesses! It will be a case of a blob on a ball! See you all tomorrow. XX Anna

Good evening Wafflers . . . Honey . . . I'm HOME !!!! Have just read 6 pages . . . and can't remember a thing teehee Just know I have had a good laugh . . . and found the box of Darrell Lea Dark chocolate Ginger in the fridge and given it a nudge as I read! We had a long trip back from Rockhampton today . . . We went looking for TLR's gtgrandparents grave in an old cemetery in Gudalga - went 4 wheel driving up the cow paddock, then in the rain we trappled thru long grass till we found them . . gave the headstones a bit of a clean up so we could get some good pickles and TLR was so pleased . . . he was like a kid in a candy store. I had to tell him their story all thru . . . there was gtgrandfather Benjamin Bladerson and his with Elizabeth (nee Bates) beside them was their son Benjamin and his wife Annie. TLR is really getting the hang of this!!!! We got heaps of photos from cemeteries around Rocky of his grandparents and other rellies graves - he spent yesterday afternoon doing lots of maintenance at the cemetery and placed a concrete surround and pebbles around his fathers rose bush at the crematorium. I think he has caught the bug . . . teeheee Thanks Ducky for keeping us entertained via sms's on the long trip . . . I had better get off here and get some shut eye or I will be playing catch up all day tomorrow. So nigh nite - sleep well - sweet dreams luv Laurie xoxo

Morning all. Woke to find that rain had fallen overnight - don't know how much. The sun is struggling to shine through the clouds which were grey all day yesterday. Maybe the cyclone has gone through up north, havent caught up with the weather news yet. Mary, I bent my plastic so much, I'll have to take a cleaning job or something :(( Seems like I am flying home on a smaller plane, just 3 x 3 seats across. I came over on a 3 x 4 x 3 seat plane. I went in on the net to change my seat allocation should I not like it, as I did when I came over, and am quite happy with the seat they chose, especially as the two seats next to me were empty!!!! One last cappuccino from my bil for morning tea, and a quick bite of lunch and we will be heading off to the airport for flight at 2.05pm. See y'all tomorrow morning most likely. Enjoy your winter shopping Lew. Love to all Jood

Mary, We went to some discount shoe warehouse place (FSW) so the plastic is only slightly melted. I got 2 pairs of Diana ferrari, 1 pair labled MG and 1 pair labled Pianno. The lables mean nothing to me! but she assures me that $200 is a good buy for 4 pairs :) Ooooooo, never had so many shoes in my life!! LOL Vonny

OOOOhhhh Vonny's the Imelda of the Wattlers - lol Sandra - hope you feel better soon. Trifley - don't you wish it would rain overnight instead of when you need to get washing dry. It's all sunshine here now - last lot of rain was yesterday morning when I would have been out for my walk so guess who didn't have a walk - did vacuum instead and did a bit of a tidy up in the bedroom so that when the wardrobe guy comes next week this place doesn't look too much like a tip. Unfortunately it will take more than what I've already done to make a difference - it's so depressing. Tony - thanks mate - have pm'd Take it easy now that summer has hit - Adelaide's due for a 40 today so guess who's in line tomorrow - you'll be downing quite a few VBs me thinks Jood - hope you have a safe trip home ~~~~~~~to all~~~~~~~ Gwenda

Hi Wattlers Well it seems like some have had a good time and others not so good with tummy bug etc. I've read back over about 8 pages of happenings since I went away. Jood I was going to look you up as I went through Perth on way to coast, then I realised you was in Perth WA not Perth Tassie hee hee. Merle I'm sorry but I got a real laugh from reading about your posts, sounds like something I would do. Listening about your going ons and then I see where Sylvia and Norm was mentioned, I dont know what Mary thinks but it sounds like Merle and Sylvia may have a bit in common with OH's, not sure how close they live to each other, may be good support for each other if they lived close? Tony I might take you up on your offer for a pic of a grave in Vic if you go near Burwood Cemetry?? My GG Grandparents are buried there along with one of their sons. I do have a pic but it was taken by an old camera, ie before digital and the pic is not real good. Let me know if you go near that area and I will give you the details I only have names though, not sure exactly what position they are in the Cemetry. Well David and myself had a lovely few days away. After seeing the New Year in out the front of our place with next door neighbour and had a couple of drinks, we left on New Years Day about 10.30 and went to St Helens, on the way we drove though St Marys pass which was one of the places effected by the fires, it really shows just how hot the fires got when steel guide posts and the steel rope that stops the cars from going over the edge are all bend and the ropes sagging to the ground from the heat from the fire. Also we went through Scamander where they lost some houses, you hear so much about how a fire will get one spot and miss the next, but it doesnt reall hit home till you see it in reality. On Tuesday we wnet to Wineglass Bay and walked up to the lookout, then decided to walk down to the beach where we had lunch, then we decided to walk the round trip back to the car park, it was about an hour longer but a lot flatter, so in all we walked 11ks in about 5 hours. Yesterday we had a look around St Helens and went for a walk around Humbug point, walking towards Binnalong Bay and Bay of Fires, but after a while of walking through a bush track we decided to turn around and go back, as we had seen enough of the shoreline and had nearly got to where we had been on previous trips, well after walking a short way David stops dead and said 'SNAKE' well, poor ol heart did start beating fast, we stood still for a moment to see where he went and as soon as he went away from the track we was on, we soon rushed past the spot and didnt look back til we got out of the bush and back to the car. So that was the end of our walking for the day. Today we left for home but made a small detour and went to the Elephant Pass and stopped at the Mt Elephant Pancake place and had Chicken and Mushroom pancakes for lunch. Then home for a rest lol. I have piccys when I load them on puta, will sent them out to Wattlers, but if you dont want them if download has reached limit let me know. Cheers Sue

HI Tassie Welcome back, looks like you had a lovely weekend. Sure sounds like it..That lunch you had sounds lovely so if I get to Tassie I will want the name of that place.. I was mentioning to Joodles that we had forgotton to get Sylvias phone number so that Joodles could give Sylvia a ring while in WA. I am sure Sylvia would have liked that.. never mind, perhaps next visit.. Joodles Are you home yet,?????? OH is cooking dinner tonight,, a pasta dish with italian ingredients,,looks good, he bought a bottle of Frascati wine to have with it..One thing he can still do is potter around our little kitchen and cook, He is a good cook and it takes his mind off his problems..Thats my story and I am sticking to it...lol he dosent do it as often now as he used to but I never say no when he say he is going to cook dinner... I will look after happy hour.... Well must go and get Happy Hour ready so back later Love Mary xxxxx

Evening everyone. Sue ( Tassie ) Sounds like you and David had a nice break. Burwood Cemetery is about 20min drive from me, and in the 70s i worked opposite it at a B.B.Q / Incinerator retail outlet in Highbury Rd.Burwood. We used to joke to the odd customer about it, saying that if and when they died, if they couldnt afford a Cremation, we were only to happy to oblige....lol Just send me the details Sue ( names ) and i will only be to happy to take a few pickles mate. Or you can Email me the Photo you have, to give me a clue to where they are buried if you want. 36c tomorrow in Melbin, so another warm day coming up. The roads are empty, as most are on holidays, and at least makes it enjoyable for travelling on. Tony Oz...:>))

Evening Wattlers, just a quick note to let you know that we're home safely and I did some really good shopping :-))) One jacket, 2 spencers, 2 pairs of leggings, ski pants, a pair of gloves and a pair of mittens - Cost?? $316.05. What a bargain. Kathmandu was having a half price sale. Gotta be happy about that! Only things left to buy are some Explorer socks and gum boots. Lily (the new car for those who don't know), had her first big trip and did very well. In old speak, 45 miles to the gallon, which is very, very good, especially compared to our Mitsubishi Challenger (the gas guzzler). I'm going into Mudgee tomorrow, so will do the Lotto then. Haven't had a chance to read the thread, but will get back to you all soon. HRH Dr Lew Lew PS Who should I leave in charge of the pills whilst I'm away??? Suggestions please (and make them nice, lol)
