Morning, from a wet Melb City. Bucketed down last night from about midnight and still raining on and off at 10:30am in the suburbs. Heard on the radio in the car this morning that its helping the fires, and many firemen have been told they can go home for a break, and let the rain do its job.So thats good news. The air is fresh and clean, and that nice smell of wet grass you get after a downpour and 4-5 days of hot weather. Barb rolled in, or should i say fell in the door at 3:00am this morning, and i woke her at 7:30 am as i was leaving, as her first customer would be bashing on the Salon door at 8:30.....lol No Tennis for her today, as its Friday and she is booked solid. Have just arrived home for a quick cuppa, and her eyes look like she has been in a boxing match ( half closed )and she will suffer during the day.She is not happy with daughter Sarah at the moment,as she had found out that said Sarah had taken both Digi- Camera's to sisters house,( 30 kms away ) and was left without a Camera to take her happy snaps of her Tennis hero's. Could you all please say a prayer for daughter Sarah....cos she's gunna need all the prayers she can get when she comes home Sunday night ( amen )I said to Barb to take our Video Camera as it does Snap shots, but apparently Video Cameras are barred from the Tennis. Why Sarah needed both Cameras, i do not know, as i am but just a mere male...:>)) Wonder if Lew took any Ice-skates with her.? Can imagine her doing a Torvil & Dean on the Arctic Ice....lol Now that would be a good piccie..hee hee. Jood. Glad all is well with the boys, and they got home safe, mate. Sorry mate, i dont do perms, but i could....if they let me stick there fingers in a power point...:>)) *Instant Perm* Surpose i better go make madame a Cuppa and give her some toothpicks to stick up under the eyelids....lol then head back out on the roads and make a quid. Best wishes to all the sickies, and av a good un. Catcha ron Tony Oz....:>)) |

Good Morning from a loverly wet wet wet Melbin - yeah and best of all - its cool - arrrrr - nice. Pity about all the car accidents though silly butters have forgotten what its like to drive in the rain. We have had 25mm at the cottage overnight as well. But the poor firies can't back burn or improve containment lines because of the rain. Thank goodness the travellers arrived safe Jood - what a relief. Princeth Loz we had to buy a new dishwasher and washing machine the week before christmas - (Kens chrissie present was the dishwasher and mine the washing machine -lol) I had my heart set on an ASKO first one we had lasted 18 years, then remodelled the kitchen and bought another one. However moved house 2 years later and left it behind. Next house had fisher paykel that was 6yrs old and I have been wanting it to die for the last 10 yrs - it was so noisy as well, the timing could have been better though. The new beaut dishwasher is an AEG came with 3yrs warranty + 3yrs extended warranty and a new 8 peice dinner set - bargain or what! Its soooo quiet and have now realized the fisher paykel must have been on the way out for a while. Ken doesn't care as long as he doesn't have to do the dishes - hates it with a passion. Got it from Clive Peeters - they will let you put the diswashers through a 'test drive' which is good.Has 5* water and power rating. If we move house again - this one is coming with me! How exciting for Princeth Lew - ice walking. Bet everyone who was seasick will be glad to hit the ice for something firm underfoot - lol Well better do some work I'd much rather be doing FH though -I'll pop back later. ~~~~~~ hi to everyone. xx jude We are off to a birthday party tonight for 2 - 25 yr olds. One of them being Jonathon, he has never wanted a party at any stage in his life for some weird reason. He and his mate (birthdays are 4 days apart) are having a combined party. They have hired a lawn bowls club for the night, 4 rinks to play bowls, the use of the BBQ and drinks at low prices. Guests have to come dressed as what they think they will look like at 50 yrs old. Makes it very easy for Ken and I - pmsl. One of their friends is a DJ - bet he want be playing our type of music though. MIght have to take some ear plugs. |

L'oz, my new one is a fisher & paykel with two drawers. It is quiet Jude. We had a big Simpson which has lasted about 25 years but it was very noisy. I love the drawers as just fill one for us, but use both when the family come :) Glad I'm not getting my hair cut today, Tony :) I'm currently waiting for Optus to answer their phone. Discovered yesterday that I can't opt out as I missed their deadline. Can they do that? Change your account and then not let you opt out? Apparently all the big companies have actually bought the rights to phone numbers. I think it is actually going to cost me more line rental with the new arrangement, which I didn't realise at the time. It is SOOOOOO difficult to get a straight answer and trying to wade through the paperwork / internet is a nightmare. :( Not happy Vonny |

Hello all Wattlers, Back on deck again, got to catch up fast today and pay the bills! What a week – slightly damp here is the best we’ve managed, big black sky the other night dumped on Wagga, and last night Melb and a bit further north got wet, and we are just delicately steaming away under grey skies. It’s remarkable how patchy the rain is. Lara hope Tiger has improved by this end of the week, quite a performance for you both, will he be let home for the weekend? Vonny your trip planning sounds lovely, covering a lot of ground. If the Murray doesn’t have water in it by April we’ll all be in very very deep doo-doo lol. Jood, well, adventures all over for you!! Hope everyone is now safe and sound, whatever did we do before mobile phones, they sure have changed the way we can communicate. The rain will be a big belief in Benalla, and will get rid of some smoke too. Barb must be woman of steel to get through today, what a marathon. You’d better not plan on her doing the h…w tomorrow Tony! Sounds like Sarah has got the teen brain disease lol, the cure tales a few years I’m finding out! Judy DIY – what a novel idea for a party, I haven’t heard that one before and I bet it’s a lot of fun! Looking at the piccies in 25 yrs time will be even more fun!! Sandra I laughed over the back scratching – remember as kids peeling off the skin in sheets back in the 50’s when we didn’t know about sun damage! We had a nice quiet week, I haven’t cooked, just got Chinese takeaway which lasted several days, a cooked chook and a bag of salad with garden tommyatoes, crackers and cheese and some muesli for breakfast. Told everyone to help themselves! I like the little pool out at the Hume Weir Resort there’s never anyone much in it and it’s very picturesque. OH and I saw “The Queen” and enjoyed it, also hired some videos the best of which was “Motorcycle Diaries” which I am going to watch again tonight myself as DD will be on a late shift at Maccas. So I feel much more rested, but OH needs a bit more sleep to catch up, now says he has aches and pains from not being in his own bed!! Well have a nice weekend everyone, ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ from Heather in Albury |

...and of course there's knackered Barbie too. Born in Camberwell in the early 50s. This Barbie loves her tennis, and gets bleary eyed from watching to many Butts on court through under powered Binoculars, which cause Eye strain. She comes with special senses, and can sniff out a Bar-code through a double walled brick veneer house from a block away. At only 5ft 1 and a alf inches, can spot a Comp Label under a high mounted 4 wheel drive from 50ft. This Barbie dosen't come with Ken....she just fakes it. Anonymoose..:>))) |

Oooowaaaahh Mary. Me thinks alf the male population middle name is Ken...:>)) The Dam An elderly man in Queensland had owned a large property for several years. He had a dam in the next paddock, fixed up with nice -picnic tables, horseshoe courts, and some mango and avocado trees. The dam was properly shaped and fixed up for swimming when it was built. One evening old farmer Ken decided to go down to the dam,as he hadn't been there for a while, to look it over. He grabbed a five gallon bucket to bring back some fruit. As he neared the dam, he heard voices shouting and laughing with glee. As he came closer he saw it was a bunch of young women skinny-dipping in his dam. He made the women aware of his presence and they all went to the deep end. One of the women shouted to him, 'We're not coming out until you leave!' Old farmer Ken frowned, 'I didn't come down here to watch you ladies swim naked or make you get out of the dam naked. Holding the bucket up he said, 'I'm here to feed the crocodile.' Moral: 'Old Ken might walk slowly, but he can still think fast.' Tony Oz...:>))) |

Loved it Tony.. Remember that Page bod I was trying to find for a bloke in Canada who was having trouble well I think I have at last found him,, Under the name of Sidney H REGE.. I had a look at the image and it definatly is PAGE.. Dont know where they got the H from as it should have been S and the date of birth is out about 6 years but the place of birth is right as that is where they thought he hung out. When he got married he was a bit older than the bride so wouldnt be surprised if he didnt make himself a bit younger..anyway looking forward to seeing what they say. This is by far the closest I have got.. Laurie Loved the last funny ,, the music just perks you up,,need a bit of that at the moment.. Lew Are you looking in or are you hobknobbing with Royalty..for goodness sake dont give her any pills... Doing well with the cricket.. Love Annymouse.. |

Evening Wattlers Gee we are a smart bunch, with all the jokes and witty items. Good to see that you are feeling on top of things Trifley, marvelous what a break from the house can do. Merle, hope the physio does some good. Sorry I dont have Legacy program so cant help, I run family tree maker. We are going to my Dads for lunch tomorrow for his Birthday, so the kids have to put up with no computer, no playstation and as there is nothing on tv til late afternoon (in Mum and Dads eyes), there will be no tv neither, just good old talk between us, bet the kids will be itching to go as soon as lunch is over. We got a bit of rain today, but nothing to get excited about, a few light showers during the day and I mean light, I went for a walk to the shops and back, about 20 mins all up, while we had one of the light showers, and my clothers were not even wet. Supposed to get more tomorrow and Sunday so we will wait and see. Cheers Sue |
