Morning Wattlers Well looks like a few of us are going to be getting into FH today. Now that my house is back to normal, and the girls are going to watch a couple of dvd's, I have sat myself at puta and are going to get into doing my tree, so I will be about for most the day. Vonny sounds like your son will have a good time to enjoy our lovely state, it is good he is on the East Coast, a lot of the visitors they normally get have seemed to be staying away after the fires, as visitor numbers are down, Although there are places that have been affected badly with the fires, there is still a lot of beautiful places not affected by the fires. What type of holiday is he doing? As in a fly drive, backpacking, riding a bike around? ~~~~ to all ~~~~ Cheers Sue |

Sandra - could you please send your new email to me also? I thought I entered it but don't have it on my list. Afternoon Wattlers, Yes yvonne, Kangaroo Isl is expensive to get to. We took the car,van and 2 peeps and i think it cost us about the $500 mark. We loved it though and stayed for a week, would love to go back but the price is prohibitive. We met a lovely lady there who lives right on the beach edge, in the most cute little house, the penguins nest under her verander and they make a lot of noise. I can't understand weight loss surgery, it is sooo dangerous. I have a friend who had the old gastric stapling and she just can't eat at all. Yes she is thin, but can't/won't go out for a meal as she is embarrassed by the small amount she can eat, not even a entre size meal will fit in. she can't eat and drink at the same time or she vomits. Very sad, she wasn't even all that fat to begin with. There isn't anything that would convince me to have elective surgery, there are so many risks involved, and so many things that can go wrong. Ok, off the soap box. Hope i havn't offended anyone :-)). I guess i just see too much of the down sides with my work. It is a perfect day here, and oh has nearly finished digging up the back yard. Next rain had better go into the tank or i think he will give up, and i will have a big garden ornament (rain water tank). When the house was built the pipes were laid to drain not push water up into a tank, but hopfully it is right now. Have a great day all, Take Care Wilson |

Afternoon All, I am happy to say the roo was removed late yesterday afternoon. I wa thankful for that, because it was very hot last night and I don't think we would have survived if we had had to closed the windows. Today started out very hot, but we had a bit of a cloud burst at lunch time and its cooled down a bit now. Mary, my glasses keep slipping and I have to put my head on one side, reminds me of Eric Morecombe or Morecambe and Wise. I only got them in October, would have thought they would last longer than that. I am hoping to get them fixed quickly. Jood, sending you mail. Wilson, isn't it possible to get that lap banding reversed when you have lost weight? Where is Tony? While the cats away. Maybe he is getting stuck into doing the odd perm or two. Would be odd. Nice chatting Tassie. Well we have a visitor so I must go Bye for now SuzyQ |

Gwenda, Im no expert, but why dont you set up both laptops side by side and compare the network settings (Adsl or cable or dialup whatever you have). Vinny - check where you go in Sth Oz, upwards, coz the Flinders Ranges has had heavy rain, and the Todd River has water at Alice Springs. Probably you could look up the condition of the roads in each state before you travel. Am back from my trip, but will tell you about it later tonight when Im on dial up - coz I really need to have a 15 minute nanny nap. Love Jood |

Afternoon everyone ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Eldest son was just here and he said he just updated Windows Explorer and another Windows product and it slowed his computer down so drastically that he has now ditched them both. About the rain Jood - isn't it ironic!! Our Canadian friends reckon they are drought-busters with a proven track record in 4 countries!! :) Just a hint that they were going to the Flinders Rangers and the rain comes pouring down. Doesn't bode well for March. LOL I have been out pricing rain gear today :) Spent a few hours in a camping store drooling over all the new gadgets :) |

Hi di hi 6 hours of Scarlett later of which I ironed for 4 I have made a dent but still quite a bit to go - my kids obviously have far too many clothes as they don't seem to run out of tops. Maggie T advertised the Women's Weekly and if I had bought that copy I could have read my stars for 1995, Law of the Land was screening on Wednesday nights and the Holden Nova had just been released. Glad I wasn't in a hurry to watch it but think I may need to re-read the book as I don't think it followed the book as well as GWTW did. Must say Timothy Dalton played a good Rhett - he could stick his shoes under my bed anytime!!!!!!!!!!! Jood - would you believe that after my first message this morning I tried my lappy and the net worked fine - maybe yesterday was just an off day - anyway glad to be back on line Guess I'd better think about feeding some peeps here so I'll see y'all later Gwenda |

Hello all my dear friends I am still alive although very weak, don't know if it was a virus paired with detoxing as the lass I spoke to at the chemist yesterday did the same plan as me the twelve week one and she lost 14 kilos didn't have much to lose though as she is now perfect weight and she said she felt crook for about a week but not to the extent I did with temperature and all, I just feel all weak now legs like jelly and no strength at all Tassie I know you lost all that weight and were sogood at it only hope i can achieve what you did only I have 50 kgs to lose omg I shouldn't say it cause it makes me freak, but I am going to do it. I was telling Cassie last night ohhhh I can't even have a drinkie poo at Mudgee she said well mum what is more important ? and she's right I would like to around when she eventually has a little monster as we called her she is still called mons as she was into everything once she could crawl a truly beautiful monster though Jill Cassie too recommended the green tea so I will get some today although with Cass I am not sure cause she loves baby octopus too oooohhhh yuk Thanks to Julie Cat too will send before and after photos and you will then sed the real me that has been covered up for 25 years Sandra is your DIL having the balloon operation its being done only in NSW that I have heard of but thought you had to be as fat as me to be able to have it I am twice the weight for my height I should be so that is considered rightly as dangerously obese Pat, Mary and Joodles is the lovely lady who I visited in Poona near Maryborough and Hervey Bay in Queensland and she gave me a lovely hoya which is going great guns Pat I am very proud of it just have to find out what the lady over the rd does with hers its leaves are lovely but she does have it in the sun room which is very warm and its growing like mad but the leaves of hers look so shiny and green She' s Mrs Clean of the neighbourhood so maybe she puts Mr Sheen or White oil on them but surely not, as its so huge . DIY are you crook to mate? Havn't read all the messages yet sorry to hear get better soon and also Flakey not good hope you are better soon too Flakey Gee Jood you in my Enery's territory up there in Dunolly and as Mary said when she went there she and John were good enough to go to Eddington Cemetary and photograph where his wife Anne Kavenough aka Byrne Cavenoor Cavanagh Ward is buried there and two of their Children too hope you had a good day Jood, Gwenda hopefully there will be less of me at Mudgee but we will see LOL Wilson only the totally desperate would do the old way of stapling but what about lap banding it can be undone can't it? And the new type with the Balloons sound really good because it can be removed once you have archieved the goal weight. I just want to be able to be more like the weight I used to be and maybe a stone more as a lot older but its hard to imagine how it gets you down ask anyone who is over weight and they will tell you how you are treated as though because of your size you are treated as though you don't have a brain or feelings sometimes, I know you shouldn't let peoples rude remarks and ignorance wash over you but they don't and most times are really are very hurtful, and these are the reasons even more so than health problems to make people make the decision to have such a drastic operation I'm sure . But I will be thinking long and hard about that too before I ever resort to having the op Jood I have just found my phone charger and and charged my mobile so sorry didn't get your SMS till just now mate sorry about that. My dinner is made haha two cups of non starchy vegetables with two teaspoons of oil so have to away now talk to you all later on Love Lara |

Hi everyone, the line has been busy today. Just had a note from Vivienne. She,s been house hunting, getting ready for school again and little one keeping them up with teething so hasn't had much time for chatter. We'll hear from her again I'm sure. Mary, the test on Monday was a colonoscopy. I've only half my large colon and that has diverticula all along it. No nasties though. Knee is still unmentionable! Someone said to me not long ago that one has to be strong to survive old age. She's not wrong!! Daughter Noeline is 49 tomorrow and today has an infection under the tooth the dentist has been trying to 'save' for months and costing her lots, so they have to take it out as soon as the infection clears poor girl.A good racket this 'saving 'teeth. Hello puss and Lynne. Yeah, it would be good to get some kiwis onthe thread. Specially with the cricket on HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE I love to stir |

Good evening Wattlers, Well I am on a natural high tonight . . . have had a wonderful day at the Archives. Dropped TLR at the airport and headed west, and I dont know where to start telling you about it all. In the 1860's a survey was done of all the prisoners in the goals in NSW, identifying them, physical descriptions, sort of like the surgeons reports on the convicts - lots of detail - truely amazing . . . BUT . . . they also took photos of them . . . the old glass prints. These records and photos have never been indexed, so one of our jobs is to clean off the glass photos, just a gentle brushing and repair the paper on the reports that are damaged useing japanese rice paper strips. Then when they are all done we will index them so the lucky ducks who have bad rellies will have access to the most amazing records. Another job I am involved in is the indexing of the court log books. some good giggles in them . . . one I came across today the poor fellow was up on a charge of 'Disrupting the Congregation' so many on a charge for 'Failure to report a birth' It is so amazing to walk thru that place and see the zillions of old books and records all piled sky high . . The really old book storeage cell has the most amazing smell about it . . . . Interestinly, only about 6% of the records stored in the Buildings will become Archives . . . the rest will have a shorter life. Most of what is stored there is contract storeage . . . lots of councils, hospitals etc. pay to have their records stored there to meet legal requirements and they are later destroyed. One of the other major projects underway is the indexing of the soldiers settlements after WWI . . . Oh and did I tell you about the maps ??? Zillions of drawers of the old parish maps from all around the state. so many of them all done in water colours . . . as you can probably tell . . . I had a bonza day!!!! Lara, so glad your feeling a little better . . . must have been a bug as well as the detox to have hit you so hard. Thinking of you lovely. Gwenda . . . I like the sound of your day too . . . without the ironing board of course !!! Poor Jill . . no puter . . . how did we cope without them ??? Glad your roo has gone Suzy . . . seems like the heat is really hitting Qld with a vengance! Lew will be doing her 'wet landing' on Macquarie Island tomorrow, sure she will be having a great time and adding some spice to life onboard. Are you home yet Oh Great Queen . . . or am I a day ahead of myself ??? Glad you going alright Merle . . . blasted knee . . . not only do you have to be strong to survive . . . but sometimes a high pain threshold is needed too. ((hugz)) Have raved enough so best go add this on before I loose the lot Catchya lata . . . where is ya Tony ???? ~~~~~~~ Hey Ducky . . . hows yah quacking ??? luv Laurie |

Hi Mary, Thats ok we all get a bit forgetful at times. Hi Lara, Hoya,s can be a bit fussy, I have 2 out in the front gardens climbing palm trees, and they are doing fine, the 2 on the back veranda are protected from wind and sun and are not doing as well, you might have to keep moving it till it finds a spot it likes. You look after yourself too. Patricia. |

Hi all, Mary, Pat, first we went to Maldon, and bought a few goodies, soaps, lollies, a cushion, some jam. By this time it was well after 12, so we bypassed Eddington and headed for Dunolly and the bakery. Well geez, I know it was 1.20pm,but they had sold out of choc. eclairs and vanilla slices :( ... I had a pastie and fruit scone, the others had pies, but we did bring home a sausage roll which I ate at tea time, they sure are filling! After we drove around looking at the churches, maps, shops, etc, headed back to Eddington the town itself, very small, and then the cemetery. .. We moved on to Laancoorie, drove around and looked at the old churches, then had afternoon tea just under the Loddon bridge, very nice. I was a bit sleepy when I got home, so had a nanny nap. Tonight we have been out the back looking at a new comet (McNaughtons comet) - you could see it with naked eye, very low, on the west sky - very long tail. We actually had a telescope but I couldn't reach the eyepiece - but it didn't matter, I could still see thecomet. If you are reading this now - hop outside and see if it's still there. Everyone is about to turn in here (probably reading in bed, I'd say) - so I'll pack up my things and head to bed also. Love to all Jood |
