Morning all - going to be a hot one here too. I'm heading up to Sidley today. Family is celebrating my sister's 50th tonight, then I will see my aunt tomorrow - only surviving rellie of that generation - and home again tomorrow evening. Himself is staying home and working on the boat :) I'm hoping to talk LOTS of family history with my aunt. Was trying to find my maternal great grandmother yesterday but no luck. So if someone is bored today.................... :) Alice Welch - c1862 - 1946 (only just started researching so haven't bought death cert) married Charles Millar Mulholland in 1882. I suspect she came out to Oz with her parents Thomas and Charlotte? I tried to find her on Ancestry yesterday but I am not too good navigating around it yet. Tony I have found a Thomas and Charlotte Welch in West Ilsley Berkshire and Alice Welch born 1862 in the 1891 census This cant be her if she married in 1882 in OZ..butter..Great you found her,, Love Maryxxx

With a surname like WELCH you are better off purchasing the marriage cert. to be sure. WELCH can be WELCHE,WELSH,WALSH,WALSHE and even seen it as WILCH on Index's. Arvo. Had a very fruitful afternoon today, researching in India. My Grandmother was born there 1884 ( British Parents ) and i had found her mum's birth in Hampshire 1830s and that she had married in Bombay, India. Her surname was Henderson, but i had never found her siblings. Came across a sight 'British in India' and a sight dedicated to the Henderson surname, and there listed were her mums parents and siblings on a Web site. So now only need to varify things and i can continue back further on this line. So a nice little break through for me ....hopefully..:>)) SusyQ. Happy birthday to Neville from us also. I dont mind a bit of Duckling ( sorry Trifley.....lol ) especially Baby ducking, with little paper chef hats on it's likkle legs. You were also asking about Google Earth. I think.....it depends on when the Photo was taken on a particular area, and to my knowledge ( or the one i use ) Photo shots can be 1week up to whatever old. Yes, of course i am Barbs best win..? Half the comps she enters and wins are my poems, or the tell us in 25 words or less ones, why you should win this trip/prize. I write the Poems, she enters the Comps. Tony what a fantastic find,, good for you,, wish I could have a breakthrough on some of my brick walls. I am waiting with baited breath for that lovely lady who is going to the Dudley Archives for me to see if she can topple one of my brick walls that has brought me to a full stop on that line. It is so good when you have a good find. All I could do today was add some twigs... Did some food shopping this morning and this afternoon took OH to the Club for lunch,, Now dont feel like any dinner so will just have some fruit. Evening Wattlers, Happy Birthday Neville - enjoy the duck. Pity all the cute things are what we end up eating but I never look at a lamb chop as anything other than a lamb chop cos if I stopped to think about the cute woolly creature the chop came from I'd be vegetarian Sounds like you've all been busy FHing today. I've spent the last couple of days doing that so it was a change being at work - lol Ordered a marriage cert yesterday to see if my grtgrtgrandfather had been married twice - 'twill be interesting to see the result. Vonny - hope you have a fruitful chat with your Aunt and enjoy your sister's 50th. We had Dominos pizza tonight seeing they were cheap but had to eat early as the special ended at 6 pm. Bit later we will try the dessert we bought from Woolies - looks yummy - cake thingy with custard sandwiched in the middle and chocolate icing - hope it tastes as good as it looks - course I could just smash it against my hips and save some time cos that's where it will end up anyway - lol Hope we have a lotto win tonight - fingers and toes xxxxxed Gwenda

Afternoon Wattlers SuzyQ please give my birthday wishes to Neville, could have put up a birthday wish if I hadda known, oh well such is life!! I hope he had a nice day. We had a quiet one here apart from the constant scratching on the roof, where David was rubbing off the rust before he primed the roof ready to paint. I sat a puta most the day just going through my info I have on my tree and trying to get it in some order instead on all different word docs etc. Done up a nice meal for David as he has ben working sooo hard on this long weekend, I done silverside, cooked in the slow cooker,mmmmmmmm soooo tender and yummy, with potato, corn and white sauce. I have made a pineapple pudding for sweets, when the main meal has gone down a bit lol. Cheers Sue
