Rebs I do feel for you. They say a stiff drink helps. Dont know so much if it does much for the illness, but it does make you feel better, if you have enough of it lol. Seriously I do hope you feel better soon, I hate being sick and any little prob, seems like a big event. Stay warm and hope you feel better soon. Afternoon all, got an unexpected early mark so came home. Jood, as I understand, WUM's was coined for 'wind-up merchants' people who deliberately try and get others riled up. Trolls are just nasty and their aim is just to be as horrible and vindictive as possible. At least that is one good thing about our thread - most of us have met and we wouldn't fall for any smear campaign against each other. Afternoon Wattlers Weather here is the same as it has been for the last couple of weeks, Frost, sunny days, cold, we are expecting rain, or should I say showers on Thursday, but we will wait and see. It seems like I have been busy doing nothing of any great importance, David and myself enjoyed each others company and the peace of a house to ourselves. I picked my parents up at the airport this morning. They was full of things they had done in Queensland, Dad didnt go much on the Skybus, I think that was in the Daintree Forest up Cairns way. Then they came down to Airlie Beach had a trip around Barrier Reef and to Hamilton Island and had some pic taken on Whitehaven Beach. Then back down to Melbourne, where they took in 2 games of Football, and it wasnt even Dads team they watched, they also visited a cousin out Dandenong way (I think) and came home with some copies of old photos of my Grandfather, along with other pics for me, which was really great. She is a member of this site but doesnt come on the General Threads. I have to go and pick up DD this afternoon as she is going on a Scout camp tomorrow to practice for their Holmes Tropy Weekend. Cant imagine camping in a tent in -2 or 3 degrees, not my kinda fun, but she loves it. Well hope everyone is well, I have read back a few pages and noticed where the UK'ers were up to their same ol fun and games over the weekend. Sorry to see Lems had a falling out, see seems so nice in the threads I have read of hers. Jood glad to see you are on the improve, still dont rush yourself though, as you dont want a relapse. Lara bet you will be glad to be on your way up North soon. Thanks for all the pics of the meet, makes me sooo want to get to a meet and actually get to know you all, hopefully I may make the Sydney one. David and myself went to a market on Sunday and we ended up buying a Tshirt for our youngest, as it was one she had been after for ages. David asked me if I wanted anything and I said no, I would rather put the money to a trip to Sydney, I just have to keep thinking that way lol. Rebs no you aint the only one that doesnt like her photo being taken, I alway think I dont look good in photos, then I think to myself well hang on I dont look that good to start with pmsl. That also explains why my Dad didnt see his beloved Carlton play at the weekend, they was over in WA lol. Anna I just went and ckecked my snail mail and I had a postcard from Toowoomba, wher my friend is visiting her Dad, he is a Lay minister up there, The postcard is of the flowers, I think I heard you mentione before on here, they do look lovely. Afternoon Folk, just crawled out of bed after finally getting there around 8 this morning. Think I have what the rest of the family had last week. Ah well, least it waited till the weekend owas over t hit me. Anna, the girl got 2 seconds and a highly commended. she said she totally wrong footed her heavy - although not sure how - so she got what she deserved. Still, another trophy and a couple of medals to collect dust. lol ! Poor Lems finally lost her temper with the continual crap that was happening. Someone who has also been suspended, started a thread that he (or was) deleted, and then started another. Same old contentious crap happened and several peeps reported the thread. In the meantime though, poor Lems had had enough and gave them what for on the thread, and ended up getting caught in the cross fire. GR, read the thread, saw Lems (very uncharacteristic) outburst and suspended her along with the thread originator. Has everyone got the photos now? My group listings went astray when OH last crashed the puter and I keep discovering someone I missed adding back in. Let me know if you didn't get them. Very photogenic lot you are. Am I the only one whose camera shy??? Commiserations to all those whose footy teams lost on the weekend. I was highly surprised at the Carlton/West Coast result. Thought the Blues would get totally trashed over there. Pity they couldn't finish with the same momentum as they started. Inexperience ??? Promising for the future though - in about 3 to 5 years. Anyway, must be off to find some Aunty Histamines and caffeine. Not necessarily in that order. lol! Catch you all later.

Hello again Wattlers, finally!! I think I was starting to have withdrawal symptoms. The marine net we were connected to on the Island was less than useless. I spent several hours only being able to read your messages and not being able to post and then since friday I couldnt even do that. So I'm sory I couldnt join in the fun over the weekend , although I dont really think I was missed...lol I see several 'visitors' kept you company Joodles. Sounds like Brisvegas has survived the antics of the Wattlers...just. Thanks to all those who have sent pics. I have spent all morning catching up on emails and reading all 20 pages of waffle, so I'd better get some papers cleaned off the desk and make it look like I've done something......back later Jude2

MORNing Wattlers Stayed up last night to watch the Aussies win the soccer - must admit I nodded off once or twice - but I was wide awake for the last exciting 8 minutes! As you all know, I'm not really into football of any code but stayed up to keep dear OH company. Good grief - they do carry on a bit don't they!! It's only a game of football...!!!!! So I slept in until 7.30 - phone rang and it was school wanting me to come in to replace someone who was sick. I'd have had to be there in under an hour so I chickened out. Besides, Chris is working today and someone has to run Katherine around! Oh, it's nice to have the power to say that I don't feel like working today!! Besides, I have a genealogy meeting this arvo and I don't want to miss that. Trifley - don't take any notice of your men - you sing if you want to. It's good for the soul. Hope the voice is a bit better. Tony - have you alerted the local fire brigade to stand by for when you light your candles tomorrow? Don't want to start the next inferno!! Mary - any feed back on the house? Hope it is all good. Rebs - what were you doing up all night - talking to the British mob no doubt. I'm trying to work out why our Lemon fell foul of the thought police - I'm not sure why she was so incensed that she resorted to bad language - missed that - but I'm very sure she had a good reason. Morning Wafflers A quick hello then I have to finish the washing....yuuucck. But Graeme is hanging it all out for me so that saves a lot of time. Isn't he sweet? My voice has improved today....not quite so croaky. My family has banned me from singing at home for ever (Graeme said to put that in) so my voice is getting a rest. Good Morning Wattlers, Has everyone recovered from Brisvagus or do some of you need a few more days!!!!!!!! lol. Trifley, my grandson just turned 1, and no i missed his first solo step, but no doubt i will get to chase him around often enough to get over missing the first one hehe. Lara have you collected your van ye?. Ours has been away getting some repairs from our last disasterous trip. It has taken so long for them to finish fixing it they stopped answering their phone in case it was me lol. I was beginning to get a bit short with them and in the end told them that we would be collecting it in two days wether they had finished or not, that got some action. Now i am packing it to go to Barham this weekend. Have a good day all. Take care Wilson

Good Morning All, Only -5 degrees here again this morning (hard frosts for a week now), clear skies, bitter cold. Woke up to excited radio announcer with the soccer news, it's been interesting seeing the supporters come out of the woodwork in a very rugby, AFL orientated town, I'm partial to a bit of soccer so will watch the replay's a bit, not silly enough to stay up all night!! Morning all, Had a sleep in cos I did stay up and watch our boys win - last 6 or so minutes were triffic. Before my OH showed me how to get on net - now you can't get me off - I used to waste hours playing Tapei - always played them numerically. Then son had a SNES and I'd get hooked on a couple of games there and that would be more hours wasted - so think I've also got an addicitive streak too Laurie - sounds like you've found your 'retirement home' and you had it all along. Lara - today's the day you get your van. Hope you're feeling better this morning - bad luck about the footy - not - I'm a red and blue girl myself. Good Morning Wattlers, Hey Joodles, I've been up since 4.45am, had to take the lovely Ray to the airport - he is back in Steak & Kidney now - I have the sunshine for the rest of the day and fly south at 6.15pm. Rebs, what you doing staying up all night ?? Hope you been behaving !!! Sun taking a little longer to warm up the world this morning, but still not what I would call cold! Jeans t shirt & thongs the uniform of the day! Ray and I worked ourselves crazy yesterday, I raked up twigs & branches for the first couple of hours then - while I had a scrub of the verandahs, his nibs cleared out gutters. Then the lovely Ray decided to hop on the ride on mower - first go round the fence line and he ran over a water pipe and sliced it! So I got the comfy seat on the mower while he did running repairs - he had bluckeys chance of getting me off once I was settled. Yard looks fabulous this morning, once I got rid of the weeds, most of my plants are doing fine. I tried to get the chrissy lights down - but they are melted onto the roof - but thats OK - I'm getting a new roof! Found great big dints in the roof from a hail storm earlier in the year, so along with half the neighourhood we are in for a new roof on the house and garage, and new garden shed. These few days here and we dont want to sell our house . . . . its ours again - no son in charge - just ours and we haven't gotten over the place as we thought we had - its such a lovely place to live. I'm going to look into subdividing and sell off the back paddock so we haven't got so much to look after, and the lovely Ray says he will take four day weekends every four weeks and we will come home so that will be fabulous! We drove in to Glens house last night and had a family dinner - the kids cooked a roast. We slept over so we would be closer to the airport this morning, and had a lovely time turning lights on and leaving them on . . . I'm back out home now, with just a few more jobs to do before I call it quits. I have thoroughly enjoyed my few days up here - a bonus to be here for the meet. Yes I was very quiet at the meet - I always am - I sit back and take it all in (hehehe) - will let you know when the book is to be published! Actually truth of it all . . . I couldn't get a word in . . . . Shaz & I were taking notes though weren't we girl !!! Will catch you all from Sydney later cheers for now luv Laurie
