Dear Perplexed. If you go to Messages then Your Contacts, you will see if people have opened their trees for you and you can also check the box to let people see yours. Regards Dr Lew Lew xxx |

Believe it or not I have only just got my tree up and running. .. I don't even know if I have given permission for anyone to look at it. .. Haven't even had any hits :-( So could skp let me know how/why/if I have given anyone permission to look at my tree, or whether it doesn't happen till someone asks you. Afternoon. Sunny at the moment in Melb. Sue. I agree with everyone else who commented. If you yourself cant find out how this person is connected, then they or you are most likely so far removed it is of no consequence to them. Its possible they may have found your parents and or Grandparents through another connection I had one just the other day saying 'can i see your tree' ..nothing else? So i just replied with a....Why. I also only give a section of my tree to people, but it depends on how far removed they are to my direct line. My reason for doing this is, because if you open your tree to some one who is only connected by a very small twig, and have no connection blood wise. Eg: My 6 x Grandmas, sisters, husbands brothers 6 x Great grandchild....there is no Blood link The only connection is my Grandmas sisters hubbie and their children.( Cousins removed ) My Grandmas sisters hubbies brother, has no genetic link.......so not much use to my tree. When you open your tree to this person, and someone contacts them ( because they have your 6x Great Grandparents in there tree )...they cant even remember who they got it off, and you can miss out on a possible contact and blood connection. Hope that makes sense......LOL Anyway....thats the way i do my tree, but you may differ....?? Each to there own, i guess. My tree is blood related only,no matter how thinned, and a cousin 8 times removed or whatever must share a 9XG or at least common Grandparents with me, for me to be interested. Lunch over ...back to work. Hope everyone is having a good day Tony Oz.....:>)) |

Hi all, Just had an amusing chat with two older locals reminiscing about East Albury and the train station - apparantly the kids years ago knew how to get into the drains under the railway line which were big enough to cycle through. In summer they would put corks on the end of their bike handles, go into the drain and turn south towards the river, and cycle down flat out, ending up out in the river with their floating bicycles!! In winter they would pour hot water into the bike handles to keep themselves warm when riding to school (corks again I expect!!). Hz in Albury |

Vell Vonny, your dutch is very good. I've also had that same problem. I'm afraid it's just trial and error. Having trouble with the kittens. I'm afraid they're just going to be too wild for me to catch. Buggar! Lew Lew xxx |

Lunch time :) Good move Tassie. The peeps that STILL have my daughter listed haven't replied to my email of month's ago! You can ask GR to over-rule if they don't reply in a reasonable time. I have also noticed that effect of people floating around apparently unattached but it is a peculiarity of the system I think. If you follow 'downwards' from your rellie to their rellies I notice that not all the links show up. If you start at them and follow 'upward' through their rellies to your rellie then all the links are shown. BUT you can't do this if you don't know how they are connected. I did manage it on one person's tree by trial and error and guesswork but it was a small tree!! Has anyone else noticed this? (or an I talking double-dutch?) Whoops, lunch time over, back to work. ~~~~~~~~~Vonny |

Hi all Thanks for your input, I have stopped access, although I dont have much in the tree only what you would call main branches and their children only. I also had another look and they still have names and dates of my parents and grandparent so I will keep watch while I have access to their tree to see if they change it. Girls now want puta for a while, try and get back on later. Cheers Sue |

Yes, I agree Heather, the crossings were in NSW. .. I have one up the street from me, and even though it has lights and bells and whistles, I scurry across for dear life even when its supposed to be safe. And then we have the idiots that stand there waiting to be run over! I've had something to eat Heather .. not much of a choice, I admit, but it should keep my tummy happy for a while. Jood |

Hi all again, gosh things back to normal for me, I have a minute at work to peek at GR. 'Cept new casual staffer has just told me she has to have hyster - there's Always Something lol. Tassie Sue, I reckon stop access to your tree too. I am reducung mine gradually on GR as I get it onto a PAF, then I'll leave only the bits on GR I want to investigate. Made a mistake leaving a Smith on and got seven pages of Hot Matches, too much to bear, not useful at all. GR is good, but not at everything!! Sounds like our railway xing accident may have been someone trying to get across in a hurry. You're right Jood about the country xings, but there are so many of them, and NSW has no money. Hi Again, Just reading while having my homemade cuppichino (spelling) hubby makes a nice one. Tassie S. I would also stop access to your tree, in fact I never give access to my tree but always offer any information I think is relevant to that person, why should someone be interested in a part of a tree that is nothing to do with them. The sunshine went and we had some rain I'm not complaining my garden loves it. catch you all later Sandra in the Gong |

No Tassie, stop access till you have an answer. They may be new to the site or not on a lot, but I never give access till I have had several contacts with the peeps involved. They may have given you access by mistake because the box is automatically ticked. Sorry, meant to be teaching. back at lunch time. Vonny |

Morning All Well the world must be going made with all this Dad, Mum versus Mum, Mum and Dad, Dad, Who really cares as Tony said earlier each to their own. What people do in their own lives is up to them, Im not against gays but there is both sides and should be made known that yes originally it does take a male and female to produce even if you are in a male, male relationship or female, female relationship Also on the radio here this morning it was mentioned about the syndicate in Hobart that won a share in the big draw last weekend, I think there was about 13 people in the syndicate, they was expecting to get about 96 000 each, well it has been revealed that some of the workers in the group had not paid their weekly fee of $10.00 and it looks like they wont get their share. I know there is 2 sides to it, but I would hate to work there at the moment, the tension must be bad. I do feel sorry for the ones that havent paid if they miss out, but then there is the other side, if it is stated in there rules of the syndicate, well rules are rules and they do have a week to get the money in, and also if you was too busy or forgot to pay Tattslotto for your weekly ticket, means you dont have one for that week and if your numbers come up, you miss out, no matter how long you may have been putting those numbers in. Well I am off to have a late breakky, it is also warmer than expected here today only got down to 3 overnight and expecting 13 today, not sunny yet with a lot of cloud cover but no rain. I have been up for a while and done 3 loads of washing and rode the bike for 45 mins. Catch you shortly. Just a question about contacts on here, I had a contact through hotmatches. I did have a look at their tree, as they gave me access straight away, I could see where the names that were related to me was, but I couldnt find how this particular person fitted in. I sent them a message asking for enlightenment to how they was connected and also mentioned about the fact that they had my Mum, Dad and Grandmothers names on the site with year of birth, they are still alive and even I dont have their first name or birth year in my tree, I mentioned this as it does state to get permission from living relatives before adding name. I did open my tree to show them how I had it. I hadnt heard back by the weekend so I sent another message asking how they were connected again and if they have had a look at my tree, still no answer, would I be too mean if I stopped access to my tree? Cheers Sue |

Good Morning Wattlers, The rain was lovely yesterday did the garden a power of good, clear blue skies this morning first thing but cloud is rolling in, very fresh in the Gong but not as cold as you in the Mountains Jude, people think I am strange when I say I like a bit of cold weather sometimes as we have a lot of hot most of the time. I'm with you who were saying about political correctness going to far re the preschool books that was a good one Tony with your records, poor geni nuts in the future. I remember when Noddy was banned, on a slightly different note do you remember when the golliwog was taken out of the jam in case it may offend. Better shut up now. Hope you all have a great time on the weekend wish I could have been there. see you later Sandra in the Gong |

Good morning Wattlers Beautiful sunny day here today - I haven't even put a jumper on this morning and I've been outside to feed the birds. About to set off for the morning constitutional. Heather - nice to see you. How wonderful for your daughter to get a trip to NZ witht the choir. Hope she has a great trip. Is that during your school holidays? Jood - that pluddy cat is that Julie cat who keeps on getting through the cat flap stealing our big numbers. Dr.Lew has tried to desex her, spray her, and generally discourage her from her bad habits - but the cat comes back. Hope Mark is OK Trifley - only 3 sleeps! Catch you all later Luv Annna |

Morning Jood and the rest of the Wafflers. A warmer morning, 0.3C, It's sunny up here on the ridge, but the town is still under a blanket of fog. Forecast sunny and 15C. Oi you coastal lot, don't be too greedy with that rain. Save a little for us over the ranges! Yes, Tony, political correctness gone mad!!! Same when the Noddy books got banned because he slept in the same bed as Big Ears. What a load of cods wallop! Well must away and dash off to the office with great enthusiasm - not! Lew Lew xxx |
