The really sad thing is that children all over the world will be going to bed crying, and all because the Media had nothing else to tell us. |

I don't think the media covered this because they had nothing better to show at all - I for one was interested in what happened to that poor whale and watched it all day hoping and praying that the beautiful creature would make it. I, like many others, am so sad that it died - it had just as much right to be on this planet as any Human Being. Kaye x |

Apparently they've taken it to Waterloo Station to see how big it was..........because that was the nearest 'whale-weigh' station. |

Kaye The media covered the story because people like to go 'ah' and because it was in the Thames. There are millions of animals (not to mention people) in distress every day of the week in places where there are no cameras and which we don't have to think about. It;s sad, but its only one whale. And we only know about it because it was on TV. If it had been in the Thames the day of the London tube bombings I doubt if anyone would have bothered to do more than give it a brief mention. nell |

i know that the rescuers only had the whales best interest in minds and helped as best they could but i cannot help in thinking the whale was happilly swiming around in the thames rescuers came beached it then tied inflatbles around it to stop it from swiming naturally then along comes this massive tug lifts it by crane out of the water (an alien enviroment) people running all around it then to top it off a long journy of how many hours ? with vets sticking needles into it to take blood im sorry but at that stage i would have become very distressed myself maybe they should have just let the whale alone sometimes humane intervention is not always the best way to go im not bad mouthing the rescuers efforts as i know they would never do harm intentionaly and my heart goes out to them for their efforts but just maybe the whale may have turned its self around and swam home |
