Soul singer Wilson Pickett dies

The veteran US soul singer Wilson Pickett has died, aged 64, after suffering a heart attack in Virginia. His management company said that he had been in poor health for the past year. Born in Alabama, Pickett to fame in the 1960s, with hits including In The Midnight Hour and Mustang Sally. Pickett had continued performing on a regular basis until he became ill, and had been inducted into the US Rock And Roll Hall of Fame. |

Oh what a terrible shame another great singer gone. All the greats from my childhood and young adult years are going suppose that's another thing about growing old. :-( Pat x |

Such a shame he's gone. His songs were huge hits in my teens, and I spent many happy hours on the dancefloor with Wilson. RIP to a great man. CB >|< |
