Why do you do it? I usually burn my cooking (not deliberately, I'm just forgetful) and hubby is more than willing to give a hand just so that he can eat a meal without charcoal. And he helps wash up. |

I have no idea but I wish I did. I've been married 11 years and we have 2 kids. I've worked full time throughout - taking only 4 months off for maternity leave each time. We both work the same hours, travelling to and from work together. But every day on the train home he asks what's for tea - implication, what am I doing for tea. I've said it would be nice if some time he would ask what I want for tea, or what he could cook for tea but his answer is always that I know what's in the fridge and he doesn't! That beats it all - I only know because I'm the only one who cooks. If he cooked, he'd know. He's only cooked me 1 meal in the 13 years we've been together. And it took me a day to restore the kitchen to its usual state afterwards (thick black smoke got into everything!). Angela |

i wouldnt mind if they looked interested, but you have todecide what theyd like to eat and cook it, and then they just grump at you, |

Yes, that's the worst thing. Hubby's okay - he likes my cooking. But its when I spend ages doing something and then both kids say they don't like it and ask for something else instead. Even when you do things they've had before and eaten. Angela |

When husband and I started living together we cooked alternate days. Because our first flat was too small to have a washing machine and he had the car he took all the washing to the launderette too. But since we;ve had kids, he seems to think I should do it all. I remember saying to him when I was at home with the children that I gave up my job to do 24/7 childcare, not housework! He does help if I ask, but makes such a palava about it. I have 2 teenage boys and think it would do us all good if I b*ggered off on holiday for 3 weeks and left them to sort themselves out. Except that I'd have to come home to the mess.... nell |

clearly your family is still living in the 1950s ! we both work, so we share the chores. I think its fair to say that I cook 9 out of 10 meals. Sharon does most of the washing... fairs fair. |

I can cook and sometimes do so - but Mary says she enjoys cooking so I can live with that. Moreover, she likes the kitchen to herself when she's cooking. I used to be dishwasher but have been replaced by a mechanical one so I am ousted from the kitchen len |
