Hi I was wondering how easy it is to get to Auchinstarry from Glasgow airport. Is Auchinstarry the only place to start canal holiday for the Falkirk wheel? Thanks Penny

Hi Thanks ever so much - I just did some surfing on the net & that seemed to be the main place to start - as you have said - it's in the middle of nowhere so seems to take ages to get there from the airport. It's between Falkirk & Kirkintilloch!! penny

hi Penny Im sure there are holidays starting at the wheel itself and Falkirk has two stations both linking to Edinburgh and Glasgow. The wheel is a marvellous feat of engineering, I live not far from it. { an exiled geordie in Scotland}

Well it wont be far from the airport then, as Falkirk itself is only 45 mins from Glasgow airport, and Kirkintilloch is even nearer. I willl check T info tomorrow to find the starting points for you and any info I can pick up.
