Yesterday and today, at around the same time, I received a call on my mobile, but from two different numbers. Since I haven’t been too well, I’ve been having a little rest in the afternoons and so didn’t answer them. I didn’t recognise the area codes so typed them into Google and found that they were Llanelli and Cardiff. Then I had a brainwave and typed the whole numbers into Google (01554754901 and 02920368700). They were both from the same company – Landmark Communications – and there are LOTS of complaints about them on sites coming up on Google. Apparently, they claim to be from “3” and offer you an upgraded mobile, but of course they ASK FOR YOUR BANK DETAILS! Seeing that this ‘scam’ was a bit different, I thought I’d warn as many people as possible, as well as it being a good idea to Google unrecognised numbers! **You can register mobile numbers, as well as landline numbers, with the TPS, their web address is www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/ Mandy :)

I used to get a call, same time every day for 2 weeks. It was always a withheld number though. I registered my mobile with TPS and haven't had one since.

i been getting unknown calls on my mobile leat week, numbers are 0151 707 2125 +1243011600 and i am with 3 but not gonna renew or upgrade it

Thanks for mentioning the TPS, I'm registered for my landline number but didn't realise you could also do it for mobiles, so I've now done that! Jim Just googled your two numbers and they are telemarketing companies as well! Mandy :)

I was plagued with these calls before christmas.Always offering me upgrades.In the end when whoever it was rang I asked them to wait and just left the phone down.I dont know if they did wait or not.I didn't hang round to find out.I was more annoyed at the fact of the intrusion.Only certain people had my mobile number.Dosen't it just irritate you...uuurgh...... Hi Caz It's the Telephone Preference Service. It's also a free service. Once you've registered your phone number (landline and mobile), it can take up to 28 days but then you shouldn't get any calls from telemarketing companies. Mandy :)
