I wouldn't dare have one of those roll edge matresses - not after I fell out of bed on hubbys side when he wasn't there!

Hi Trish, It really does pay to buy a more expensive mattress.... i Bought mine about 10 years ago, spending what i thought was a small fortune at the time.... it cleared my saving out.... but boy.. what an investment! 10 years on and its still as firm and solid as the day i bought it.... but its a right swine to turn over.... so blinking heavy! lol.

I really noticed how lumpy it was when I wasn't in it!! Spent a night at a Travel Lodge and had a lovely nights sleep. Comes to something when a hotel mattress is more comfy than your own doesn't it!!! LOL

Hi Trish No I didn't try one of those , they do sound strange , hubby is disabled and needs help getting out of bed sometimes, so we now have a 'roll edge' mattress instead of a firm edge, and it took me a week to get used to not falling out of bed everytime I went near the edge Lol Lol. Julie x

Hi Trish I hear you! When we were first married we had a cheap mattress. When I was pregnant, I swear that my hubby was a good 6 inches higher than me on his side of the bed! We invested in a realy good mattress about 15 years ago. No more back problems, no more pokey springs. Good nights sleeps from then on. I bet that you get the best sleep that you have had in ages! Deb (who went for a nap at 8pm last night and woke up at 9.30 am this morning!)

Hi Julie, did you try one of those new ones where the mattress has a foam layer on top and forms itself to your body shape? I tried one of those and found it really strange.

Trish, I hope your new mattress is nice and comfy. I have just been going over what we have spent this last couple of weeks, what with moving house and Christmas. At least I have convinced myself that most of the money can be accounted for. June xx

Hi Trish The new mattress sounds good, when we had a new one it took me a few days to get used to it. A perfect excuse for some new bedding as well, perhaps?? Julie x

a new mattress. The old one had lumps and bumps in it everywhere (and that wasn't me). Went looking yesterday and found a perfect one that suited both me and hubby. Being delivered this week and I can't wait. Perhaps now I can roll over in bed and not get woken up by a spring going BOING !!! LOL
