I am trying to find if this address still exists. It was one of a row of cottages, where my Father was born in 1899. I visited it often as a child in the 1950s, as an Aunt and Uncle still lived there. Any info, plus photos would be really appreciated. Thanks. Jan

Jan Just checked my London Atlas - albeit about 20 years old. Don't know if this is the right one but there is a Mount Road in Bexleyheath between Danson Park and Bexleyheath Golf Course. As Bexley and Bexleyheath are neighbouring areas (ie a stones throw) .......... maybe Bex Hth WAS known as Bexley then ???

from what i can see I bast the road on my way to asda, in bexleyheath. I can try to locate the property and get a photo durring the week. Incidently the propery was last sold on 7th Sept 2001 for £138,000 it's listed as a Terraced building. As Anne found the road appears to be in Bexleyheath now, but I think looking at the maps (inc one from 1870) that it would have been Bexley or even Damson years ago but with the expantion of Bexleyheath which is now the main shopping area it could well be that it has been relisted as Bexleyheath but it still comes under to council of Bexley. (accidently deleted my message sorry but Have re-posted it)

Wow !! Wierd ! Until about 5 years ago my daughter lived in No.58 !! I cant remember when she moved into that house but must have been about 11 years ago and over the following years there were changes of owners of 60 and 62 so her memory is little vague on who was in 62 - she cant remember the name. However, she does believe that the occupant in 60 was related to 62 - maybe sister or sister-in-law ... then LOU in No 60 got bit ill and moved to Lyme Regis for her health - that's the story I'm getting !! Hope this helps .... Joe.

Have just read all the messages on the General Board, which I hadn't visited for ages.....(.trouble with computer connection) Thanks to all who replied about 62, Mount Road. I have since managed to get an old Photo from a very helpful lady at Bexley Library. A modern Photo would be great though, if anyone can get one. Jan

Hi Jan, Have just seen this - Mount Road is not too far away from me and I will get you a digital photograph if you would still like one? Please PM me your email address so that I can mail it through to you when I am able to get down there and take the photograph. There is a Family History Fair next Saturday in Bexley, any chance you could come, or do you live far away from the area now? You may find some useful information there. Dee x
