Thanks for your email Any member is free to report any message. The message is immediately removed but is then reviewed by our team. Of course, this can tend to be the 'reporter's' personal opinion and the question we have to ask ourselves is 'Does this contain anything which, if untrue, would tend to harm the reputation of the person about whom it is said?'. If the answer is yes, then the material is permanently removed from the site. At present, the originator of the message is not advised when the message is removed but this may be a service that we will introduce in the future. Due to the large volume of messages we are reviewing, it is not possible to investigate individual cases. the thread was a happy one so y it was deleted is beyond me and y wud anyone delete it or want it deleted ?

Id like to add, that GR dont always remove a thread on a members say so unless it breaches T & C. I once complained about a thread and got a message back that the thread was not breaching t & c but IF it did get nasty there would be grounds for removal. The thread diddnt get nasty or breach t&c in the end so wasnt removed. I cant see why Genes would remove a non offensive thread just after midnight on new year, especially if it was a thread intended to be TOP THREAD at midnight..why not remove it earlier before they open the champers ?? I cant see abuse sitting on the board staring at it at midnight as the bells ring out...can you ? .it makes no sense at all to me ! Elaine x

Wasn't here last night, so have no idea what this is talking about, but is would appear that a harmless thread got removed around midnight last night ? I tend to agree with Elaine, I can't see GR being there at that time to do it... so a technical error maybe ? IT systems aren't infallible you know...

I wasn't around at the time either ~ Whilst i haven't done it often, when i have reported a thread to GR , it usually takes a while to get it deleted after you have messaged them. Rarely does it happen right away.
