Thanks for the offer Trish, but Bec has just landed a snowball, as big as a house, right on my head. It is now melting down my back. Lol Oh well virtual snowballing is nearly as good as the real thing. Kim

Trish Something my Dad used to say when one of us was having a temper tantrum - 'There she goes pitching a fit again.' Also as in Rounders - Man who throws the ball is called 'The Pitcher' Joy

Trish

Trish Report 29 Dec 2005 19:16

Never heard pitching down.... we usually say 'pelting down' or 'belting down' ....written down , that sounds even sillier! LOL Christine

Esta, I married a Bristolian and am still trying to get him to talk proper like what I do after 20 years!!! Didn't understand a word of what his parents were saying for a good few months, even when they just said hello. It was something like 'howzbe'. LOL

It's a Bristol thing and it should be 'Pitchen' Take a look at this www.thatbebristle*co.uk then you can learn how to speak proper !!!

To pitch is also 'to fall' - as in 'pitching forward' etc. - so guess that's where it comes from! I got laughed at once for saying it was 'pouring with snow' - so what else does it do?? Mags xx
