My Uncle's sent me a present ,,,,UP DATE

My Uncle of 76 has just phoned to say he's sent me all his photo's to copy,,grandad WW1 army hospital (injured) another of him winning a golf competition 1922 he was a golf pro.. my gran age...16,, taken in 1916,,,plus others,,,,,,,can't wait,,,the best Christmas present i could have,he's been promising for so long and now he'ds done it,,,hurry mr Postman please ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Photo's just arrived,four are from 1914 my granddad in his WW1 uniform with his pals,my Uncle told me most of the regiment never came back,grandad was injured and spent a long time in hospital in Wales .Ashburnham House .it was used as a hospital and my gran worked in the big house as a maid ,photo of her in 1917 aged 16,she married my grandad in 1919, Now it's more real, they were so young,i heard lots of story's but now to see them as they were it's magic,,,,also a photo of grandad in 1922 winninga pro golf championship,,i knew he was a golf pro but now, wow i cant beleive it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,so happy

Can't wait he's even got one of my wedding 1968 he took the photos and lost them,i only have two of my own ,,,hoping it's a different on,,,,i have so wanted these photo's of my grandparents,i have never seen them,,,it's so exciting

Thats so good Gwen, and you know the history of the photos too. Not like me, my mum died 9 years ago, and I have photos of my great grands, but I don't know which is which, plus great aunts. I asked an uncle and my dad, but they didn't know, so it is really important to let family know who these people are.......

Its only because i have nagged him for so long he just gave up and put them in an envelope,i have scanned them and going to post back in the morning. he was the only one left to know the photo's history and at last i have the copies,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,for my kids & Grandkids, i want to get the roll of honour for the regiment to put with it,,

It's wonderful to get the pics isn't - my late dad's cousin who I have never met, lives in Wales and has told me so much of my paternal grandmother's family. He has sent through email some of the family pics he has, which I have never seen before - my grandma as a young woman and as a youngish mum with 6 of her children, my dad and his brothers and sisters. It was easy to tell which was which - my son and my brother when young look just like my father did when he was about 8 or 9. He also sent photos of my grandmas parents who I never knew. Can't wait to visit him and see other pics - bet there are loads more.
