but as some know a friend in work is havin urgent op friday for breast cancer, prior to this news i decided id give the money i usually spend on chrimbo cards in work to cancer charity, some said yeh good idea some said well id like to still give cards, entirely their choice, today i got a collection box, in case anyone wants to just add to it, so as they dont need to ask and know ill give it to the charity, do i leave it in staff room with note, or not would it offend anyone here if it happened in your works |

Julie Ann Wouldn't offend me at all, I would more than likely put money in the box and still send cards. Sue |

Julie, at the risk of sounding patronising you have a heart of gold. No, that cannot be misconstrued as offensive at all. Just that somebody has the guts to try to do something positive in a difficult situation. Good for you, Julie - and good luck! x |

When i worked, we eventually decided to send one nice card to all the staff and these were displayed on a notice board. Some individuals still sent cards to everyone, which were graciously received, but not returned. Some donated money to a charity box, others gave money to their chosen charity, some just sent the one card. Jay |

Julie I've been thinking about doing the same thing. I wouldn't worry about offending folk - you are giving them the opportunity to contribute to a worthy cause, but you aren't making them do it! nell |
