That when you think someone looks perticulary young, you always say '12'? Why not 11 or 13???

I think that might be just you Paul...

hmmmmm is there a 'peculiarity' about yourself that you are not telling us about TC? Julia - Young, but considerably older than 12 :-))

I am in agreement. I think it's safer to be just a year out than offend someone by being completely wrong. Puberty could be hitting a bit sooner or later. :o)

I'm 100% positive that i'm not the only on who does this!!! My friend has admitted she always says 12, and not 11 or 13!

so are you saying that if they look about 15, she would say 14 ? I don't quite understand the concept of what you're trying to say. If I think someone looks about 13, I'll say 13 - if I think 10, I'll say 10 ?

Sorry. Perhaps I wasn't clear enough. I am in agreement with you, Paul. I am more likely to say 12 than 11 or 13 as my estimate. :o)

Thanks RW, at least i'm not the only daft one out there! Paul - no, when we say someone is young, we always say 'looks about 12'. Even if they actually look about 15. Its us going over the top. But why 12? Why not 11 or 13. 12 is just a bit random! lol

Well I think you can definitely exclude me from that then... I don't think I generalise that much

*ponders....maybe because twelve has only one syllable and eleven and fourteen have three and two respectively...soooo it is quicker to say twelve....just a random thought! BC
