You cant completely uninstall Norton Anti Virus, you have to have your pc reformatted. If I am wrong, then I am sure somebody else will corrrect me. But this is the only way we could do it and everyone else we know with Norton Anti Virus, and they are people from within the computer trade. Goodluck Marie

Maz, if you go to control panel and add and remove, you can completely remove Norton from there, I did mine tonight. I bought Norton from Argos. If you have already paid though why don't you email Symantec and see if they can advise you. M.

I uninstalled mine through control panel - add/remove programmes. Never bothered with Norton again, slowed down whole system and you can get perfectly good Antivirus FREE by Googling AVAST or AVG. Dee x (Look forward to seeing you Saturday Maz xxx)

sorry for disappearing. the other problem was that every time I open Norton it cuts my internet connection. I felt so ill last night that I just couldn't face restarting and going through it all again. Went to bed before 9 o'clock in the end. Thanks for the replies - I understand the bit about uninstalling, but if I do that, then how do I REINSTALL please??? I'm sorry but I need it in idiot language as I know less than nothing about all this. Maz. XX

Cant help you maz, as I have the free avg7 - I dumped mcafee because I couldnt follow that either, it seemed either to block places I wanted to get to and/or let virus through. I do sympathise with you, I know you can feel so drained with puter problems. I always think now when things are going wrong, oh well, they will be right at some point. So try not to get too frazzled. It will be sorted.

Have a nice cup of coffee and cake to celebrate - the feeling is almost worth the agony, isnt it. I remember the relief I felt after a whole day (literally) networking my sons bedroom playstation to this pc (mind you, gawd knows how I did it, cant remember at all). Well done genius.
