I feel sorry for a player for my team Manchester City Joey Barton who is the brother of Micheal Barton, he has got negative press because he is his brother, that is unfair, it is right verdict though! Davex |

Yes Karen, I feel every sympathy for the relatives of the perpetrators, as very often they are decent, law-abiding people. x |

I really admire Anthony's mother being able to forgive them. I don't suppose there is much worse than having a child murdered, especially in such a horrible way. But maybe the family will be able to concentrate on grieving for their loss as opposed to being overtaken by hatred. Don't think I would be able to be that strong or that good. |

I've said it before, but the saying 'an eye for an eye' spring to mind here ............. Not a nice thought at all, but hell, they didn't think of that poor lad did they! |

Thank goodness for the correct verdict. I was begining to think he (Barton) would get off scot free. Well done the jury. Diane |

Anthony's family are amazing, I couldn't be so forgiving. Everything I've read about him shows him to have been a kind and loving young man who had so much to offer. The racist scum who killed him deserve to rot forever. I haven't read any comments from their parents, are they as ashamed of their sons as Anthony's parents were proud of theirs? Gwynne |

The only verdict. The loss of a young innocent life for WHAT??? How can people hate others so much is beyond me. Anthony's Mum forgives them, she is a christian woman who lives by her beliefs it is so very sad. My heart goes out to her Pat x |

I've just sat here watching this and cried at his mum's words. It is incredible that she forgives his killers, but she is a committed Christian and following her beliefs. The saddest part was when she said that part of her heart had been taken away, and that you could never mend a broken heart. Mandy x |

This is the first time I've ever thought that the death penalty should be reintroduced... I hope Barton and Taylor struggle to deal with the severity of what they've done for the rest of their lives. They are both despicable monsters! |

'Anthony, his girlfriend Louise Thompson and his cousin Marcus Binns were verbally abused by Michael Barton as they waited at a bus stop, near the Huyton Park pub. Anthony Walker was out with his girlfriend and cousin The three walked away, but Barton and his cousin Taylor ambushed them near McGoldrick park. Marcus and Louise escaped, but Taylor caught up with Anthony and drove the ice axe into his skull, the court heard. Home Office pathologist Dr Brian Rodgers told the court that the axe had smashed a 5.5cm-wide (2.1inches) hole into Anthony's skull, penetrating his brain.' Source: www.bbc.co.uk |

And they should go to jail and never be let out. Happy days |
