its difficult because he likes most of the staff here, you see I am the librarian here and I am young, the staff treat me like dirt because I am below them on the chain or whatever they think! but without me the library wouldnt run! my boss appreciates me but others dont! |

i get like that too. i always say i quite like my job (been there 11yrs) but the customers are so rude sometimes. i always say 'morning' (never good morning as i get 'what is good about it?). that will be so and so please, that is so and so you have given me (ie £20) thankyou. that is so and so change thankyou very much, byeeeeeeeee. very often at the first 'morning' i am looked as as if i have been scraped off the bottom of their shoe. i reckon about 75% of people do not speak, then i am told i am a sour faced checkout operator when i have sat for 6+hrs with no one talking to me. i could try to start a conversation ,but then people behind in the queue start tutting, muttering and looking at their watches. next time you go to the supermarket, please be nice, it might be me! tina x ps i know what you are thinkng - that the checkout needs to be nice to you as well. in answer to that, we are all humane and have off days, but she/he has probably got cheesed off with the customers before you! |

You may be the librarian but if you were ill then everything would fall apart. When I was in 6th Form at school, one of the other girls in my year and I, used to help out in the school Library in our free time. We both appreciated our librarian for doing such a fabulous job and found her to be a very interesting woman. She gave the two of use the access codes for the library system in school so we could issure and return book when she was not in because most of the English teachers couldn't get it to work and some just thought it wasn't their job so why should they learn to do it, so the books would become overdue. As a librarian you have alot of power over the books and resourses in you care. You are one of the most important people there and if the other staff are too blind to see that then they need their eyes checked and their heads read too. Try not to let all the little people (staff) bother you, let their little comments slide away and wash away - they are just frightened that your job is so invalluable and they could do it if they tried. (((((((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))))))))) Lunar xXx |
