There is a 'do you remember' thread going. This pre-dates that. During the war, workers play-time and that, there was a comedian of the above name. He was a Ken Dawson type of fellow - if anyone even remembers him. Rob,s radio act was from his 'bumper fun book'. Ervery second joke he would say 'get in there, morton' As an example of his type of nonsense joke - Little girl to little boy, ' would you like to see where I had an operation on the top of my left leg?' 'Yes please' 'In the hospital over there' Get in there morton. Now that may not seem hilarious to you, but rest assured that in sixty years time, Peter Kay,s act won,t be funny. Happy days |

Jean, Yes. Thanks for the memory. not word perfect but 'The day war broke out, my misses said to me, You,ve got to join the army' I said 'who'. She said 'You' I said, 'What am I going to wear?' She said 'theyll give you a uniform'........... All said in that laid back manner with his hand to his cheek, or finger in the corner of his mouth. Unique.(and thank you Meercat) Happy days (long gone I,m afraid) |

There was the 'stuffed dog' who spoke in a posh accent. Saveen was a great ventriloquist, remember the act was very funny. Jogged a memory again Harry. Maureen :O)) |

Managed to find some info on Robert Moreton, radio and stage comedian who appeared in several f ilms. Goes on to state what is described above - bumper fun book and 'get in there moreton.' Is believed to have committed suicide on the 1950s. Another sad, in reality , comedian? perhaps. Happy days |
