You have probably seen me put threads up about things breaking or falling apart in my flat, well ive had enough now!! Our Boiler broke down 2 days ago. Our heating is seperate to it but it has left us with no hot water. Our landlord lives abroad so we communicate with our estate agents. We are very good tenants, pay our rent cash in hand every month without fail and on time. We never complain about the things that go wrong just patiently wait for it to be fixed. So they send out an electrician at 6.00 last night to have a look at the boiler. He took one look and said 'theres nothing i can do with it, you need a plumber' WELL DER even i knew that we would need a plumber! They gave us their word it would be fixed last night, I had to have my 3rd cold bath this morning and have to wait until tommorow night till they can send a plumber round! In this weather its not the nicest thing to have to do! sorry for moaning xxx |

Thanks heather..not much choice though. My boyfriend started filling the bath up with kettled water last night. He started when i left work, when i arrived home an hour and half later it was barely worth sitting in cos it just takes so long for the kettle to boil! Bless him he did try though. hes been having showers at work and just washes his hair in the sink in the morning, but i work in an office so dont have a shower! Im going to my mums tonight to have one though xx |

They are sending a plummer on Saturday evening? you are lucky- surprised you havent got to wait until monday. Had it been an electrical component that had gone you'd have been laughing though! Jess x |

why is that Jess? are electricians easier to get hold of than plumbers? x |

Plumbers are like gold dust apparrantly.... and the fees they charge are ridiculous!! its a good job you rent your flat, otherwise you would have had to take out a small mortgage to pay the plumber! I do hope it gets sorted out for you quickly, its no joke having a broken boiler in this weather. xx |

Feel so sorry for you in these circumstances it was this time last year we started having problems with our boiler one minute we had no hot water then something went wrong with the heating , Mr Joe Bloggs was trying to mend it for us in the end April this year we had to have a new boiler, and our problem never stoped there a new boiler went wrong within 17 days of being put in, so i do hope you dont have to wait as long as i did , thinking of you. Margaret xx |

Thanks Em, I suppose its not the fact that we have to wait for a plumber, i think im so annoyed cos it just seems that everything breaks. -First it was the toilet- twice! -Then the washing machine-Twice! -Kitchen drawers fell of, -The kitchen surface has dropped, -The extractor fan busted -Our kitchen taps are loose -Our spare bedroom door is broken -Our front door lock needed to be changed -We had a big hole in our porch door that was suppose to be fixed, we waited 4months for that -the flooring in our kitchen is pants and needs to be changed due to when the washing machine flooded I cant think of anything else right now, but im sure more will come to me lol. sorry for moaning xxx |

there are two things that the average boiler needs- water and electricty - one is no use without the other. Plummers will not touch the electics, nor electricians touch the water- at least they have been out to look and asses the problem. As others have said, plummers are dead expensive and will no doubt be charging double time on a saturday anyway so i am surprised the agent will send him then. Jess x |

The plumber is one of their own, he works for the agency, i think he gets most of his business from us lol. He has already been round to look at the taps and has informed the agency that we need brand new ones fitted as they dont do those kind of taps anymore and it cant be fixed. arrr nightmare! xxx |
