Maz (the Royal One) in the East End 9256 Report 23 Nov 2005 10:00

Mum and I were shopping last week and I stopped at a perfume counter to try some. She was telling me that her favourite perfume was always 'In Love', but she couldn't remember who made it. Mum is 82, so it may have been some time ago and it may not be available any more!! Does anyone else remember it please and know who it was made by?? It would be lovely if I could get her a bottle for Xmas! Thanks! Maz. XX

Hi Maz I remember it well - it was my favourite too when I was about 14. I believe that it was Elizabeth Arden. The only other one that it might have been was Estee Lauder. I don't imagine that it's still made any more but I believe that there is a company who do copies of many of the old perfumes. I will have a google and see if I can find anything. Chrissie xx

Hi Maz 'In Love' has definitely been discontinued but I found the e-mail address of the person who once mentioned the company who do old perfumes. I have taken the liberty of sending her an e-mail, hope you don't mind. Will let you know the outcome. Chrissie xx

Thank you Chrissie you are a STAR!! Just found this ... 'Q: Where can I buy Norman Hartnell's 'In Love'? 'In Love' is the best known of Hartnell's fragrance and perfumery products, and is well loved for its distinctive white floral character. Please take a look at the 'In Love' page for a little more information. Sadly, 'In Love' has been out of production for some years. It is however sometimes offered for sale on internet auction sites and it may still be possible to obtain it in that way.' May have a look on e-bay!!! Maz. XX

Good idea Maz. When I googled, e-bay only came up with talcum but another site came up with a bottle that had a current bid of about £16/17 pounds. I didn't look in to it because I thought if the bottle was years old, would it still be any good? Not sure about that one, are you? Maybe if it has never been opened? Off out now - will let you know if I get a reply. Or good luck with e-bay etc:)). Just had another look and there does seem to be a few on e-bay after all:)) Chrissie xx p.s. I just found a site where it says that 'In Love' was pure seduction in a bottle. Guess your Mum and I must have been fun girls LOL:))
