Does any one know if the above has a new cd out please as my son likes him and i would like to buy it for xmas thanks..

Hi june I have just looked on the hmv website. There was a 12cd boxset released on 17th october called Blue Guitars. Its all blues. I don't know any of the songs. I quite like Chris Rea. Hope this helps Louise xx

I've just ordered the huge CD set with DVD for my husband from Amazon at just under £30. Apparently he, Chris and not my husband, is off on a farewell tour. Can't remember what but he has been seriously ill. Maggie

Maybe you'll find something there he hasn't got.. He moved on to blues starting with Dancin' down the stony road..He'd suffered a life threatening illness and while he was lying in hospital he penned that album...Blues had always been his influence and he wanted to steer away from the commercial rock that the record companies had tied him to for years.. more info than you needed i know, but he's one of my heroes, I remember when he used to work in his Dad's ice cream parlour oposite Albert Park gates in Middlesbrough Paul

I read an article about him quite recently. Can't remember all the details but he had to have a lot of his insides taken away. He was very ill. Apparently this Blues album is something he always wanted to do.

British rocker CHRIS REA credits his wife with forcing him out of a deep depression following debilitating surgery to remove his pancreas. The diabetic ROAD TO HELL star's weight plummeted to 50 kilograms (eight stone) after the life-saving operation, and the procedure left Rea with a severe depression he found difficult to shake until his spouse JOAN stepped in. The 54-year-old says, 'The operation left me very emotional. I cry a lot anyway. I've always been the type to feel hurt easily, but now I hit rock bottom. 'I was very depressed. Life could have just drifted away from me at that point. 'But Joan tried everything. She knew we needed to create some rhythm in life for us. Joan knew I needed to do very gentle exercise. She knew I needed to try to eat something, however small. Food had to be chopped up into tiny pieces. I'm always going to be fighting. It's the way it is.

I knew Chris had been very ill, such a shame he always appeared to seem a lovely man. My son used to go to his concerts when younger. Very Good Music!
