Actually I used to love driving in the snow. It is a totally different art from dry driving. But, as I said, we seldom get it here. Maybe, with a bit of luck, I might get a chance this winter as I have some travelling about to do. I will have to go to at least Birmingham if not North Wales, and then on New Years Eve I have a trip to Exeter. Maybe the Devon Hills will be snowed? I would enjoy that.

Why not spend some time making a pair of Skis from toilet roll tubes and sticky-backed plastic? Or convert a pair of tennis racquets into snow shoes?

We have an antiquated road system out of Gosport which all converges on a bottleneck in Fareham. With a clear run I can easily drive from my home to the centre of Portsmouth in about 12-15 minutes. At rush hour every day it can take up to an hour.

You must be oop Northish if you're expecting snow? We seldom get any here, although the winter of 62 we had a fall of snow on Boxing day evening which was still on the ground at Easter.

Just having a chuckle about the Polish joke. The sun has only just started to shine here today, but there are still gale force winds about. Had a couple of real hard gusts battering my window an hour ago. Dooley's been out in neighbour's garden this morning. He is trying to make friends with her 3 year old Tiggy, but as far as he has got so far he just follows Tiggy around everywhere. The funny thing is that although they are not related they are both white and tabby, only Dooley has a lot more white. It looks so comical seeing the two of them roaming around like a tractor and trailer.

Hi Caterpillar, How are you doing? Two sugars in mine please, and if you'd like to leave that packet of Milk Choc Digestives within reach I can save you the trouble of having to eat them?
